Yesss back to some Elder Scrolls goodness! Been about 5 years since I played this one. This time we go MAGIC build! Enjoy -- Watch live at / lobosjr - Hry
It's real nice to see someone playing this game that can actually _read the text_ properly. So many people just skip over stuff or misunderstand it, and it leads to SO MUCH TROUBLE.
It's funny you say that though because I notice that Lobos often misses important details in text and dialogue and in game like this. I still enjoy watching his playthroughs, but missing certain details has lead to frustrating and facepalm worthy moments.
@@Knight_Of_Eleum_Loyce Hey man, he actually pronounced Caiuss' name right, and even if he skims, he goes all the way through the dialogue. I've seen people 'play' this game get confused about who's who and read the first sentence of a quest, skip the rest, and then wonder why there's no map marker directing them where to go.
@@Knight_Of_Eleum_Loyce He decides before he starts playing a game whether he feels like taking it seriously and actually paying attention or not.
@@nathanpapp432 I doubt you know that for sure, but that's a dumb thing to do imo.
@@Knight_Of_Eleum_Loyce Of course I dont know that for a fact, but its pretty apparent thats his approach. Go try to watch his Nier: Automata playthrough. Its painful. Thats one of the best, most carefully crafted games ever made and he couldnt care less because he wasnt taking it seriously from the start.
morrowind is such a timeless classic man, clunky controls aside it's always great fun to play and explore
hyped for this playthrough!!
It’s easy once you can power game it, but that makes it even more fun after a regular playthrough.
I like to do challenges like get 1,000 septims before leaving seyda neen or do a pure merchant playthrough trading up for gold (not using crab or scamp) and then buying op gear to beat the game with high luck.
Kinda makes me bummed that many rpgs today don’t have luck mechanics often anymore.
@@jprec5174 i steal everything including that limeware platter in the beginning lol. Grab the 4 mushrooms go to balmora mages guild turn them in then get the soul gem quest and sell all those to the creeper start with close to 100k lol. then you can very easily rob ghost gate. Buy a couple ekash locksplitter scrolls rob the treasuries if you want but you dont need to lol. You can train all your stuff to 100 off that
A Morrowind playthrough after all this time? Feels kind of nostalgic lol. (That's around the time I started actively following you iirc) Merry Christmas Lobby of Looby
I believe it’s for his podcast on vintage games. Love Morrowind 🎅
@@Timmah200 yep it is, it's a nice podcast
So stoked for this podcast ep! Between the Myst series and now Morrowind, you've covered most of my absolute favs growing up 💙
“No I have not played Enderal.”
You need to. It’s awesome.
Shit, I haven't played Morrowind in ages and the second the theme tune began less than 2 minutes in, my heart gave a squeeze. I am so glad to see you play this and uploaded it to yt. Looking forward to watching the whole series. Thank you for this treat!
Greatest game ever, played by the greatest streamer ever. Gonna watch this whole thing while I play through morrowind again myself
Oh man, talking about foxes leading you interesting places, the story about that with Skyrim is GREAT.
So there's been for a long time a 'rumor' that if you follow a fox in Skyrim, it'll lead you to treasure or quest stuff. The thing is, this isn't part of the game's code. Nobody programmed the foxes to do that.
HOWEVER, the foxes DO have a special version of the pathing AI, and it works out that they WILL go towards places with high face-density on the terrain... and places with interesting things have high face-density.
So the foxes DO lead you to interesting places, but it's entirely unintentional!
That’s what foxes do in ghost of tsushima too
Very excited for this playthrough. Morrowind's one of my all-time favorite games
Same
One of my favorite games being played by one of my favorite streamers
One of my early best pc purchases, loved this game and it got me hooked on the elder series! So cool you decided to get back into it! I haven't played in years.. Quick tip; ask everyone you can in game about "specific place" they'll give you tips about areas that might have loot or something interesting.
Oh man. First mm6 and now mw. Im really loving this channel.
Using the stat exploit I was able to make a Command spell strong enough to control Vivec, and Dagoth Ur. Fun Fact: if you Command someone they will come with you through a travel NPC, as long as it's inside a building. This includes the travel NPC themselves (You can bring a Guild transporter with you, for example). If you dmg STR you can set most NPC's in place permanently. I used this to completely restructure fast travel, and bring both living gods to hang out in my crib.
Oh my god, in all the hundreds of hours i have played this game Why Have I Not Gotten Vivec & Dagoth to chill in my fire hazard Caldera mansion filled with every candle i find & with my scamp drummer. the restructuring fast travel is great, is there a way to get mark & recall pull someone with you?
...
Time for science
@@TheOrganicartist Because you probably started playing this game in 2012?
@@CrispyOats603 what does that matter?
Oh holycow, now what I was expecting on Christmas! Let's go!
Merry Christmas, I didn’t know this is what I wanted but thank you!!
The greatest Elder Scrolls of all time. So much content and so many skills to master.
> swings a sword straight through a huge mudcrab
> miss
@@NerdHerdForLife no, you read correctly. Daggerfall is good, but not Morrowind great
@@blitzofuckzo peak RPG mechanics
@@NerdHerdForLife both games are great, I'm just trying to be a toxic Morrowind fanboy. I just honestly believe Skyrim is way over hyped. If they went back and remastered the previous Elder Scrolls games, like giving Morrowind the same combat mechanics as Skyrim, it would be way more popular. There was just so much more content in the previous titles.
@@blitzofuckzo Any stat based combat is going to be that way though. Morrowind's problem is that the miss chance is way too high.
I always loved the spell creation in this game. Nothing else really compares. You can make an all elemental nuke XD You can make a form of flight ect.
I have a mod that makes spellcrafting balanced so it’s not crazy OP but still good. It’s definitely the best part of the game imo. Feels great to be able to make your own op spells
My favorite part was creating spells with crazy names. Like "Jump of Dracolich" that boosted jumping to absolute maximum.
I've been busy watching the Dark Souls 2 Slow Run but now that i'm mostly caught up I'm glad to have moved onto this. Lobos's first Morrowind playthrough was something I really enjoyed watching, but that was a long time ago. It'll be cool watching Lobos play Morrowind now and seeing how he reacts to the game after not having played it for so long. Also his first build on his first playthrough was a greatsword build (a two-handed redguard character) so it'll be awesome to see how well he does with a mage build. Magic is really fun in Morrowind once you get over a few early game hurdles.
God, i like this type of game menu so much. Everything is right there, no fumbling around with tabs. It's great (for PC).
In ES, he's Harry Potter. In DS, he's Parry Hotter... ?
Yea, I'll stand by that nonsensical statement.
Never played through morrowwind but always watched walkthroughs of it. Always seemed fun/interesting though. Can’t wait to watch this!!
If you have an Xbox the goty is free with game pass, it looks a bit dated but always worth a play!
you should try it out and play it however you want. It is worth poking at
It is possibly the most immersive game I've ever played. Never felt like a game world was so fleshed out and real before. It's kind of hard to get into, especially now, but if you can get past the dated parts of it than it is more than worth a play.
The quests are based, the world is filled with npcs
this is realiy cool hypnotic and peacefull the artwork is just brilliant and the music so calming .not to say nostalgic 😊 and the great wit of Lobos Vader himself lol . Good watch
I just started a playthrough myself, absolutely pumped for this
First elder scrolls game i ever played loved it as a kid, def nostalgic.
This is fantastic, I thought you would never play Morrowind again
this is the first vid of lobo's i've seen in quite a while. he looks very very different without glasses. i had to to look at some old content to make sure i was watching the right person... lol
I love the music in this game
N'wah
Daggerfall Unity with texture mods is **chef's kiss**
Morrowind: the elder scroll game that felt hard asf but in reality is the most broken of them all
i think it is fair. the player has to level up their understanding of the mechanics of the game to power game it. Granted that gaining such information in 2021 is much easier to find.
There's no fast travel as well, I think that adds to the experience of feeling harried. Also without the self soultrap glitch Lobos would need to be cranking out alchemy and enchantment to cast the spells he is using.
Tl;dr -Morrowind without glitches allows your character to become powerful, but you have to work for it.
@@TheOrganicartist or you just rob the vivec city vaults and make like 200k gold. Go to ghost gate and buy/steal a bunch of glass gear. Go to that mine and get a daedric tanto.
Game is broken within the hour. If the game had proficiency requirements for weapons it would be harder to break (like can’t use daedric till wep prof is like 80+).
@@TheOrganicartist The game has fast travel. Sure you can't open your map and click on somewhere you've been but there are multiple modes of fast travel scattered all around Morrowind. Silt Striders, boats, proplyon indices and so forth. Fast travel is any mode of transportation that's instant regardless if it's from your map or an npc.
Games broken though even without glitches and knowledge. For example when I first played forever ago and that mage fell from the sky with those scrolls of icarian flight I ended up in solstheim and became a werewolf within the first couple hours. Being a werewolf early game like that just makes everything too easy to the point I had to start over or be bored.
That's just one example and I can't tell you how many more times I've made early game stupid easy by just using icarian flight scrolls alone all because I'd stumble upon something I shouldn't have on me yet. Thing is the game doesn't restrict you from going anywhere really so it's very easy to break the game with or without those scrolls.
@@MechaGodAnri i refer to fast travel as click on map warping. That is also a very common definition in many video games. Are you just trolling?
@@TheOrganicartist Well CZcams apparently doesn't want me to comment so if this shows up 3 times that's why. I'm not trolling, I'm dead serious. The common definition of fast traveling/teleportation has always been any way to get to a previous location that doesn't require you to cover the distance in real time. Any game developer will tell you this and it doesn't matter how easily accessible it is whether that be an npc, map, item or spell, it's all the same.
This game was a bit of a revolution back in the days, a massive RPG (large story content, number of objects/items, NPCs, replayability), in full 3 dimensions with a vast world to explore and so much gameplay depth compared to other contemporary adventure/roleplaying games which were almost all in 2D with relatively small worlds.
Then if you add the artful music of J.Soule, the atmosphere and great story, it was really a special game to play in the early 2000s . Morrowind was surpassed since but i will always remember it fondly, it was an ambitious game for its time.
It's wild, I literally just started trying to find a good mage play through for any of the elder scrolls and lobos comes out with this banger
lobos found the ultimate speedrun oob strat for steps when he fell through the floor while quicksaving lol....
Man this makes me wanna go back and actually play Morrowind, I need to continue the legacy of the Katil family of kajits, if only you could wear boots in this game
TY for this blast from the past. I have spent the past week, redownloading and installing mods for this gem and reliving a time from long ago. I do have a tech question for you however. I have MW via GOG and when I run it, it disables my WINDOWS key, preventing me from taking my cursor outside the game window/screen. How did you record this? OK, I found something of a "work around", but there has to be a better way.
OPTIONS in the launcher and set to WINDOW vs Full Screen
Launch the game and the cursor is now locked inside the game window and the WINDOWS key is disabled
CTRL-ALT-DEL to bring up TASK MANAGER and then I can move that window outside of the game window and I have cursor control...until I go back to the game that is. Then it's rinse and repeat.
ahhhh yes
Morrowind!? Awesome
58:19 @Lobosjr I would advise against using the TCL console command in Morrowind because when you use TCL it also allows npc's to travel through the world (this only happens in Morrowind for some reason). in the past I've ended up with quest npc's stuck in the middle of one of the large buildings in the city of Vivec (the pyramid shaped buildings).
For future reference, there's a really easy console fix for that. The command 'RA', which stands for Reset Actors, will put everyone in the area back in their default location
@@Tausami Thanks for reminding me of that. I think I remember learning about that console command a long time ago but then forgot about it.
first time watching Lobos ever and I absolutely love him and his content ! thanks for the christmas present !
50:15 'That is racist, but I am also racist' ... that hit so damn well.
Holy shit Morgan freeman! OK I was debating whether or not to watch this whole series and I'm instantly sold
YES
sees lava steps on it - Damage ... - "nice" ... haha
Best ES game IMO.
It’s sad even after like 12 years since my last playthrough I still know the first 15 minutes word for word 😂
Combat gets interesting in ESO.
Oh man spent hundred of hours in this game loved it so much
3:12:30
The real Morrowind experience.
This is... surprising
Last time Lobos played an Elder Scrolls game, there were some giant heads, loud explosions and a very very angry train involved!
good times, ahhh skyrim.
FEAR the Mighty THOMAS the Tank engine.
Also fear the Tree -> Hand/arm mod
Hairy Twatter And The Sorcerers Bone.
I am curious which mods you have to make it look goodly like that
And of course i just had to wait to find out
Nice! Makes me wish they followed up on this game and made some more in the elder scrolls series, just seemed to ignore it after this amazing game...
Harry should be a Breton.
Someone spoil me.. Is he gonna go in the water?
this games music is beautiful... its from the 2000s?!
wow, I wonder what mods hes using? looks pretty good and way different than what im used to.
Wabbajack something
MOISE I believe using Wabbajack to do all the work
@@AGingerPleb thanks, got it installed and all working

I might have to give morrowind a try as someone that really doesn't like skyrim, feels more up my alley.
You should. I don't like Oblivion or Skyrim either but love Morrowind... I also really like ESO, but that's another story...
Morrowind is definitely amazing. It's sad that a lot of stuff was taken out in skyrim like creating your own spells and creating your own class.
the og elder scrolls"!"!
I loved playing this on the OG Xbox. I would spend weekends exploiting this games bugs lol
The Sneak skill is very broken in the way that it's code that dictates pickpocket chance is f^^^ed but at the same time it's so broken that one can steal 1000+ gold with Sneak 40+ while also bribing people with said 1000 gold. You just have to savescum the pickpocket a few times. The thing with stealing 1000+ gold is that your sneak skill levels *LIKE CRAZY.* I'm talking like around 25-30-ish points in sneak per pickpocket, maybe even more, which is A LOT in terms of Morrowind leveling compared to other skills.
-
I found out about this Sneak leveling after wafting about the 'Nerano key' quest.
Needless to say I tried to bribe the Nerano servant 100g at a time and decided it would be better off the take every item off of him than to push my luck bribing a nobleman which in hindsight is a bad idea since all they ever accept is 1000g else they hate you for being a cheap pleb.

"was alchemy good in this game"
Yeah, it was broken as fuck
Literally once killed myself by making my stats negative with an integer overflow because of alchemy
Broken in every elder scrolls game :p
lets be real, does anyone actually play anything but high elf in morrowind? its all about that magic bby
its all about roleplaying a dark elf nerevarine you n’wah
Foolish, you pick a redguard and adrenaline rush your way through 20,000 golden saints with your dai katana
That's unexpected
You should do the Imperial Cult questline. Your gonna get some good items

@@Knight_Of_Eleum_Loyce Your king is dead, and you're gonna sacrifice yourself to close a portal. Your kingdom isn't the same glory it once was. You could not stop the chaos, and you will not change my spelling error unless you're my English teacher. Now go close a portal
First time I played I beat the game on accident lol
Commenting before watching. Based on my own experience, magic in this game is super broken... especially when you make custom spells that last forever.
My sister who played this as a joke character put slim shady after jiub asked her name. Safe to say I laughed my ass off.

it might not be in the video, but i did ask outright for how to break magic, etc in this game x) that was a big reason for going magic build in this

Since you are playing as a high elf, you should let your character have a skooma problem.
This game spoiled me
I will always hold this unpopular opinion, morrowind is the best elder scroll game.
I so believe, the first one you beat is the one you hold closest to your heart.
Not even remotely unpopular lmfao. I’m a morrowind Stan but you’re out of your mind if you think morrowind doesn’t have an insanely vocal fan base. This opinion would be truly unpopular if I was for Daggerfall or Arena
I was excited to see him play a classic. But I got concerned when he started to get confused about the stats and bonuses that he hasn't played a game like this before.
I got about 2 minutes in and realized he was less intelligent than I was at 8 first playing this game...
@@CrispyOats603, And then he bloomed into the most OP character. I'm so proud of him.
I had bound like 200 scamps to me and accidently hit one on the original Xbox. It caused my system to freeze after they turned to look at me and sent me to the shadow realm. It was frozen with the sound of hundreds of scamps in one loud long scamp battle cry.
Missed opportunity for Harriet Potter...just sayin
