I remember hearing that the reason Emma's sword is basically a steak knife is because katanas are traditionally stored with the guard and grip wrappings removed. Emma wasn't prepared for a fight, so when she realized she needed to retrieve her weapon, she grabbed it without bothering to replace the guard and the wraps.
I thought it was because she was a doctor and that was just what she used as a scalpel or something and was all she had to defend herself with? Idk, I didn’t do the shura ending
Historically people who weren't using their swords to a great extent would have very rudimentary guards and grips. Has nothing to do with how much time she had.
I've been paying close attention to the bosses Lobos has defeated. Here's a list of Bosses Lobos has yet to encounter: Gyobu Oniwa. Divine Sakura Bull. Emma. Old Isshin and Young Isshin. Genichiro's first and second phase. The Corrupted Monk with 3 phases. The Divine Dragon. A few more Headless. The Big Fire Breathing Guy. And of course the hardest boss of all: The Mist Noble.
I could be wrong but I believe the bug he encountered at 3:27:27 was not unique to the mod but was simply that he rested at the Idol while in motion and knocked himself out of the animation but the game still thought he was sitting so it disabled his controls as if he was in the Idol menu.
This is such a beautiful game. Probably the most aesthetic soulsborne game FROMSOFTWARE has made. Every time I played this game I got a craving for sake . The Guardian Ape fight is sooo good. God I love this game.
It's funny that I absolutely, positively, genuinely fucking DETESTED this game by the time I beat it. And I've got probably three or four thousand hours in DS1,2,3, and the armored core series is my favorite console series of all time. But this game's hardcore "one way to play" style and hyper rhythm game mechanics were just awful. It never "clicked" or grew on me, and it wasn't for lack of challenge, I've done a SL1 +0 run on every souls game. Different strokes for everyone though I can totally see why other people would love it, and I do agree that the aesthetic is freaking stunning. I was honestly really sad that I just can't stand the mechanics.
Sekiro isnt better than ds1 or 3 by any means but its still much better than anything else release since then. The combat in sekiro is in the style that good ds players use, where you dodge around and hit as often as possible, but with parries. Its really fun and well made.
I haven't seen any of the footage and I've always wanted to do this, so here are my predictions: 1. The game crashes at least once (I was going to say bugs out, but... I think we all know that's going to happen anyway XD). 2. Folding Screen Monkeys is going to F***ing suck. 3. He's going to get insta-killed from off screen in a hilarious fashion by a perfectly spaced boss. 4. Chat is going to spam RESET at some point. 5. One of the bosses will be a carp, and I can't wait to see if it swims in the air, or just kind of flops around. 6. Ok - really wasn't sure about this one, but I've decided: the first enemy he sees is going to be *drum-roll please* ROBERTOOOO!!!~ (the armoured knight). 7. The Dragon fight is going to be worse than Folding Screen Monkeys. 8. Inb4 5,000,000 people ask "wHAT DOES THIS MOD DO???" (Shout out to the Lobos moderators! They're the MVPs here, I think we can agree.) 9. We're going to be missing one key item, and we'll have to go search for it for a few hours... 10. Finally - giving sake to the NPCs-turned-bosses is going to be hilarious. I have no idea how well I'm going to do. Let's do this! Edit: My quest is at an end... 3/10?!!! I did horribly, I'm sorry to say - though most of that is because we didn't get to it/it was impossible. You think too highly of me 😊 Right now the mod swaps around the enemies which are similar enough they can be swapped with each other, and that took about 4 months of development time. More complicated swaps are basically like full mods on their own... but I would like to try adding some of them anyway!

Another thing I gotta say is one thing I love and admire about Lobos is just how calm collected, and persistent he can be even through dying over and over again to the same bosses yet not giving up. I can't do that I'll keep trying for a good while but after the twentieth or more failure I quit and take a breather lol.
Fr tho. On my first playthrough I SUCKED, so I got stuck on Owl (Great Shinobi) for a hot minute. I legit needed a whole night's sleep to collect myself again. I'm always impressed by Looby's inability to give up lol. I mean he did do fist only for all the SoulsBorneSekiro (sekiro equivalent) games so it's not super surprising that he's built up such a tolerance, just very, very impressive. His skill at this game really makes it enjoyable to watch too, as it centers around it's flowy dance-like combat.
We're just coming up on the one-year anniversary of Sekiro and I'm so ready to get back into watching and playing it. Absolutely binged everything about it for a good month when it was first out but then put it down when I was done. It's been long enough now that I'm excited to go back, and looking forward to the new life that mods will breathe into it as well.

That stint where he bought one prayer bead instead of both an upgrade tree and a prosthetic tool piece tilted me a bit. Especially since he was getting late game exp reliably for points. Hell buying the barrel also would have netted you an additional random item with the second trader since he gives you an oil pot if you already have the flame barrel. which with the mod would have been randomised.

Erick-Emil Szelitzky you missed my point entirely. My point was that I’ve played it enough to know that isn’t all that smooth or rewarding. Most of the skills and prosthetic tools are worthless and that’s basically the rewards for everything. There’s also weird miscues in the combat sometimes like a move I make will be delayed or just not happen at all. It’s definitely not smooth. And jumping is way too extreme, as in you’re only options are jump straight up or jump twenty feet in a direction. There’s no In between. Definitely ruined a lot of fights. Also the camera is absolutel aids.
Genichiro Tomoe’s thrust after the jump attack always pisses me off because it’s so incredibly delayed you either have to sit there for what feels like so long it’s dangerous, or dash towards him immediately and do it twice and time it perfectly so the second dash mikiri’s. I’m still trying to figure that one out.

The twitch video player has been really bad for months now. I try to watch these on twitch but at times it stops playing and only skipping ahead a bit makes it load. Other times it randomly skips ahead a few hours on its own. Yesterday it skipped ahead and would not let me go back to where I was, just kept loading to the same spot farther ahead in the video. I'm glad Lobos puts these on YT.
6:09:54 I don't know if you were waiting for it and it was just bugged, but you can actually kill these enemies with the mortal blade. After "killing" them normally, there should appear another death blow sign which let's you kill it with the mortal blade. Usually not really important, but I think in a randomizer, this might be a good information.
Also I didn't have a prayer necklace before fighting him because I only fought 4 mini bosses before him, one being the one in the beginning that drops a pellet
Just strike her with firecrackers and spam attack, then us aged mist Raven and not the third one cause she can go mist form and three emblems would be wasted
The thing is, this game gives you all the tools you need to survive from the outset so a randomizer is more harsh on people who haven't mastered the core combat without using items.

god i love this game so fucking much. i hope and pray fromsoft don't give up on this combat and movement system any time soon, it's so much more fun than the souls style to me. if they just gave us a little bit more variety in the weapon and visual customisation department (while maintaining the parry system, of course) i'd get so fucking hard for miyazaki and co

I figure what happened with Roberto is that the game is only designed to register if he encounters an environmental hazard (Falling for example) as his arena only has one hazard. Leaving the area ANY hazard triggers his death animation.

Wow Ashina text that early u lucky bastard. That text have the best passive skills in the game. Oh the text skills are random aswell and U STILL got ascending carp and descending carp in there. Again u lucky bastard!!! Imagen getting 1 of those white lizards near a boss and u have found the bestowal ninjutsu. Those 2 combined imbues your sword with a lifesteal effect. When used with bloodsmoke ninjutsu u get a regen cloud. Same goes with regular lizards but poison effect instead. Not sure if u get any items by spiriting that big boy away, but u lose 1 item from the Samuraj that gives u a Statue normaly. 3:31:17 That is the guy that shows up at the Serpent shrine late game. He is the only 1 that buffs himself with Yashariku sugar.
Crying girl miniboss normally in mibu village - you gotta jump on her head and just keep pressure which she'll keep putting on anyway. 3-4 of those will kill her and you still can get hits coming down behind her. edit: Ninja dude too

Imagine getting a randomizer playthrough where you dont get any gourd seeds or prayer beads befor the the Gyoubu fight??? lol
To be fair Gyobou isn't hard to no hit if you don't get greedy. Even on my first playthrough I no diffed him
Also I didn't have a prayer necklace before fighting him because I only fought 4 mini bosses before him, one being the one in the beginning that drops a pellet
The giraffe is the most absurdly easy boss fight in the game.
I was gonna mention Mist Noble but I wouldn’t call that a boss lol

Pretty sure O'rin is one of those enemies you can do with minimal vitality dmg, gotta do the stomps.
Just strike her with firecrackers and spam attack, then us aged mist Raven and not the third one cause she can go mist form and three emblems would be wasted

The thing is, this game gives you all the tools you need to survive from the outset so a randomizer is more harsh on people who haven't mastered the core combat without using items.
YES!!! Been so excited to see you play this run! I'm jealous, I've got a platinum on PS4 and have played all the way through NG+7 no charm/demon bell on PS4. I I'm going to get the PC version just for this.
god i love this game so fucking much. i hope and pray fromsoft don't give up on this combat and movement system any time soon, it's so much more fun than the souls style to me. if they just gave us a little bit more variety in the weapon and visual customisation department (while maintaining the parry system, of course) i'd get so fucking hard for miyazaki and co

I figure what happened with Roberto is that the game is only designed to register if he encounters an environmental hazard (Falling for example) as his arena only has one hazard. Leaving the area ANY hazard triggers his death animation.
A year late but it's probably based on if Armored Warrior hits a wall collision during his deathblow animation.
My brain was screaming when he wasn't getting Mikiri and Shinobi eyes, then I realized how randomized this was.

Oh the text skills are random aswell and U STILL got ascending carp and descending carp in there. Again u lucky bastard!!!
Imagen getting 1 of those white lizards near a boss and u have found the bestowal ninjutsu. Those 2 combined imbues your sword with a lifesteal effect. When used with bloodsmoke ninjutsu u get a regen cloud. Same goes with regular lizards but poison effect instead.
Not sure if u get any items by spiriting that big boy away, but u lose 1 item from the Samuraj that gives u a Statue normaly.
3:31:17 That is the guy that shows up at the Serpent shrine late game. He is the only 1 that buffs himself with Yashariku sugar.
Crying girl miniboss normally in mibu village - you gotta jump on her head and just keep pressure which she'll keep putting on anyway. 3-4 of those will kill her and you still can get hits coming down behind her.
