  • The Elder Scrolls Morrowind is the 3rd entry to the fantastic video game series which created oblivion and skyrim. In fact, this is often regarded as the game that started it all and flung the elder scrolls series into the spotlight. Many would say that this is a perfectly balanced game with no exploits however today I will be using an exploit to glitch out the chameleon stat in the game as well as infinite gold exploits. Oh and a healthy dashing of infinite health, a glitch that makes you immune to damage. So yes invisibility only will be a unique challenge!
What you have seen here today is part of a fantastic perfectly balanced series on youtube where I go from game to game and break them with wacky exploits to gain things like unlimited gold. If you enjoyed this then be sure to check out more. The style is similar to RT game and callmekevin in parts. A large influence on this series has come from Valefisk and The Killian Experience.
So sit back relax and enjoy this Morrowind challenge!

You drop the key, be warned once more that this is a tutorial area, then proceed on picking up everything you've dropped. All items dropped are overwritten from being stolen items & won't cause any trouble picking them back up. The very next door in front happens to be the warehouse and with the key, you can plunder every confiscated goods in there including a decent armor set, Skooma & Moon Sugar. You can set your path to Balmora & the mage guild's Khajiit will be happy to buy off any illegal goods. 2000 g per day to be made.

You actually want Luck, not Intelligence.
Fortify Ability can be bought at the first town with a bit of Exploration.
There's also a Quest for locating the local Tax Collector (no Quest Giver NPC), you can Rob him of his Gold (corpse guarded by some Mud Crabs near the first town on a little bit of land with heavy bushes, it's about the same distance to the oversized flea you can hire as a transport), then say he had nothing to the guy who asked for your class.
Those items you stole at the beginning can be actually stolen, but you need to Drop them before you are spoken to.
You can comfortably leave the first town with roughly 1k if you do all of the quests, which involves beating up the murderer of the Tax Collector (in the Slums, he fist fights you) as well as looting a secret stash in a hollow treestump (you can spy on the guy putting it in the stump from atop the Lighthouse).
With 100k Luck you can literally buy things for free, which is normally an infinitesimally close to zero percent.
Like, literally 1 Gold has a 1000% higher chance to succeed, not an exaggeration.
Also, for more stable Spellmaking, you want to set both to 2 Seconds. Additionally, if you play as a Kahjit your Character gets Bonus Damage on your Punches. Can't break your Fists.
Also, if you follow the path left, you can find 3 Scrolls of Fortify Acrobatics (the only 3 I'm aware of in the game).
Hodd Toward is actually not the strongest, as I had Fortify 199.9k in every Stat. Once a Stat reached Lv 100 it would have totaled 200k.
If you don't have Spell Reflection or Spell Absorption you can lose your godly fortifications to a stray Dispel.

You walk into the wrong bandit cave and a level 20 bandit with a glass war-axe of paralysis would just light your shit up. More modern games like Oblivion and Skyrim would scale the enemies with your player level so you always had a fighting chance. There were some truly hard enemies in Morrowind that were just unbeatable if you weren't tough enough.

@@phoenixlordx4625 Agreed, my first troll whooped my ass. Many of the enemies scale with you though. In oblivion quest rewards would scale with you as well, and if you wanted the best possible gear you had to be like level 26. Doing a quest for a good unique weapon super early would render it almost useless much later in the game, since it would stay scaled down for a lower level character. In Morrowind if you could find some end-game gear early on it stayed good for the whole game.

    • @boiledelephant
      @boiledelephant Před 5 lety +8

They both have their own implementation flaws. Skyrim's endgame levelled experience gets frustrating, because you know logically you should be OP but you're still meeting random starting area bandits who pose a serious challenge, even though you've killed dragons and ended civil wars.
Morrowind's unlevelled structure is better, but without any crafting professions or ways to improve your gear, improving your character basically amounts to a treasure hunt. You can get lucky (or rob the Redoran vault) and be OP, or you can be unlucky, find no decent gear for your class, and really struggle.
Both games also have a problem with unlevelled quest NPCs. Both have quest chains with preset NPC stats and situations. These assume a player will encounter them at a certain level, but because they're open world games, players don't - they might pursue a central quest much earlier or later than expected, and find it impossible or trivially easy as a result.
Both games could be drastically improved, I think, by squishing all of the stats. The whole problem is that, when you're low-level, tougher enemies aren't merely tough - they're unkillable. You get ganked by local wildlife that should just be fairly tough, because the numbers say you can't win yet. This aggressive difficulty curve encourages players to find ways to OP themselves. In Oblivion and Skyrim, the game then responds to players becoming OP by artificially scaling up enemies, which robs the player of any sense of being OP, which is frustrating after they've worked hard to attain it.
Squishing the disparity between low and high level stats would fix all of this. If all actors had stats on a similar scale, the focus of levelling up would be on obtaining new, useful skills, rather than playing the numbers game. Rather than inflating health, armor and magicka pools, have players gradually unlock more kinds of mitigation and defense so they get tougher. Rather than inflating damage stats, have them unlock more utility abilities to gain new tactical advantages in combat. Skyrim has mitigation, defensive abilities and utility abilities already, but most are buried really far into the various skill trees and they've overshadowed by the race for bigger stats.
TL;DR: they should reduce all the numbers to a smaller range, so that the focus is on skills and abilities rather than min-max stat buffing.

Also, you don't need soul trap specifically, any on-target spell will work as long as it hits terrain and not a target, and any primary effect will become permanent as long as a second one whiffs.
