The 1970 LSX Swapped twin turbo Chevy Chevelle is back! We've been slowly knocking things off of our punch out list as we patiently wait for our appointment at the paint booth! Last episode we made some slight modifications to our engine bay. So to make sure we didn't get this Chevelle back all freshly painted and then have to cut it all up again, we're doing a final fitment test on our custom fabricated closeout panels. With the engine bay trim fabrication completed, we looked up and realized we still had some work to do to the underside of the hood as well. So we're bringing that baby over to the welding table and getting our mesh welded in place. The last bit of modification we need to make is our rear valence. If you've been following along with this LSX swapped build, we frenched our front and rear bumpers to give this Chevelle a much sleeker look. But when we were cutting in our bumpers we forgot to trim down the valence too. So we're taking some meat out of it so it can match up perfectly.
With all of that work complete we can finally tear this muscle car down to the frame. Ever single nut and bolt is coming off so we can coat our chassis, suspension, and raw drivetrain parts. And with the body removed, we can roll this shell of a Chevelle to our friends at the paint shop next door!
Have a guess as to what color this Chevelle is going to end up as? Leave it in the comments section below! And make sure you're following along so you don't miss this twin turbo Chevy get put back together again!

I like the original orange and white paint scheme because it is of its time, I think that there was a baby blue and white one that I liked back in the day.
My absolute favorite build on this channel. Like myself I really appreciate y’all’s attention to detail. This car is gonna be absolutely sick. I like the fact that it retains a most of its factory look but with really tasteful updates that just aren’t in your face which can take away from the rest of the car. Great job on this one gentleman!
Appreciate it!!
With all this detail paid to the 'seldom seen' bits, imagine how nice the rest of the car's gonna look!
I totally agree, orange as it was in the beginning! Mikey you and your crew are auto magicians! Great job!
Should we keep that orange and white creamsicle vibe too?
@@SalvagetoSavageplease not orange 😂🙏🏾
@@SalvagetoSavage you can’t go wrong with orange!😉
This build is going to be EPIC! Whoever owns this car is going to have a super nice ride. I would say it will get painted red with a little candy flake, and with white banding, it originally came from the factory.
That would look killer. It definitely needs an accent color, whatever color it's getting painted!
Boy. That`s going to be one hellava car when it`s done...want it !
Hot rod red hopefully. Because the black chassis and running gear will look amazing with a red body.
And yay! Chevelle content!!
Hopefully, if all goes well with the paint, we'll be able to bring you some more consistent content with the Chevelle!
Loving this build. Hoping it’s some shade of dark green with some small touches of gold here and there. Can’t wait to see the finished project.
We love that color combo. It would look really good on this Chevelle too!
I don’t how I’m just finding this channel, badass builds and no nonsense
We try to keep it as real with you guys as possible while keeping it all about the builds! Welcome to the channel!
@@SalvagetoSavage thanks
Can't wait to see this car finished
We're getting close to getting this one all back together!
I hope it stays that same orange. I like it
Like Bob Ross always said: "There are no mistakes - just happy little accidents." 😁😁
But what bob didn't tell us is that there are also a ton of sad sad accidents as well! lol
Black, just like the the powertrain and the frame. Guessing it's murdered out.
love this build! Black and white paint
Oooooh! A black base with white racing stripes?
@SalvagetoSavage yup! The classic Tuxedo.
Amazing build, orange 🍊
Firetruck red would be awesome on that thing!
I’ve been waiting for these custom build, big HP/BMW DCT swaps to start flourishing. Amazing work, gentlemen!
nice brown metalic with sparkling elements
ooo or like a bronze?
Leave it Inferno orange … 👏👏👏
We HATED this orange when it rolled into the shop. But after so long in the shop, it's really grown on us. Keeping the original orange is definitely an option for us now!
Gloss black with orange racing stripes but not orange interior. 😊. Excellent job. Looks awesome already 🦾🦾🦾👍😎
Awsome build. A Jet Black paint would be cool
It would definitely make the body look as mean as the engine bay!
Going to start a gofund me to fund a shop with a booth. Over spray feels bad 😢. Love you guys stay cool over there!
First of all, the accent pieces on the hood, that trimmed itself out perfectly. I was thinking that the entire time and then you said it. 😂
Color wise, I was thinking keep it orange at first but maybe with some pearl….but I love the thought of blacked out trim on Candy Brandywine with black wheels.
Chevelle is going to be epic! Color, I’d guess a variation of Orange.
Royal Purple with metal flake.
White ,purple, flat grey
Gonna look awesome, interesting to see a full paint job since much of your work has patina… but I’m thinking this is going to be red, but I would dig the orange too.
It definitely feels weird sending one of our builds off to paint! The personality of this car just didn't say patina though!
doit orange its perfect
Kick ass build! I'm guessing a dark metallic blue
I love a dark blue Chevelle. They look so perfect with lots of chrome.
There it is, a reminder to get in the garage and keep going on my f100. Top notch work as always!
These cars ain't gonna build themselves! lol Thanks for all the support! Hope the f100 project is going well!
So happy to see the Chevelle is getting completed. Looking good! 👍
I would love to see someone paint a car, metallic dark Wine Red with a couple of layers of charcoal candy apple. To darken it some more and give it depth. Finish it off with 3 layer of clear. Buff to a mirror finish and go win some car shows with it! 👍
That sounds like an awesome plan! We definitely want something nice and deep for this paint, to give it a colder, meaner look. The wine red seems like a very appealing option too!
I’m going to wait for the reveal next week, nice to see the Chevelle getting finished up, Thanks Mike.
Awesome to see the young fella learning and working hard to the same high standards as the rest of the team. Well done mate
Khalel kills it around the shop when he isn't finding a corner to nap in! lol We'd definitely be struggling to keep up without him here working. He does any awesome job
@@SalvagetoSavage great show, quality craftsmen, keep at it💪
Gloss black 👌👌
I really like it when the person/persons doing any project showing mistakes the setplan for change wasn't the best , it didn't work and still would need more trim and cut.,..shit will and dose happen and it did happen to them too. I respect all vids and shops. This i can watch thanks for sharing
Thanks for the support! What's the point of showing you what we're doing if we don't show y'all when things go wrong and how we fix them? We're glad you're liking the content!
Thx so much for the hard work on this one really enjoyable to watch it come together. Being an aussie it reminds me of a xa xb ford 73.
Glad to see the chevelle back up front hoping to see it come out in black!!!!
Excellent!
Thank you! Cheers!
Finally back to this project (Chevelle). It has been a while since we have seen an update on this project. It is coming along nicely. I am looking forward to more content on this build.
body's coming in black. Nice build.
Matte, gloss, or metallic?
@@SalvagetoSavage semi gloss and matte strips?
it's exciting to see the chevelle coming to the finish line. for the paint I'm gonna guess some kind of candy or metallic deep red.
We definitely like the idea of going candy with it!
Id paint it satin white but for sure its not going to be that color… looks great dudes cant wait to see the finished product
Lord Have Mercy I just want to see the bill 4 this thing 😱😂😰Got to love the Attentiveness & Creativity
It definitely adds up, but that time and attention to detail is what sets these cars apart! Thanks for the support!
@@SalvagetoSavage Right I'm a 70 Chevel Owner as well I always had the desire to make Mine 1 of No other too U guys really push the envelope the bmw tran blew Me I was wondering are U still able to detach the steering wheel with the pedal set up
Such a beautiful job you all are doing on that chevelle! Can’t wait to see it back from paint👌
We're pretty excited to finally be working on this car again!
@@SalvagetoSavage I’m glad you guy’s are, I enjoy seeing the content on it!
Dig it. Sweet Chevelle.
Thanks!
Metallic Purple
I love this build. Made my day to watch this
That thing would have looked super mean with a black frame and red drivetrain components. And of course black body.
For me personally, a Chevelle can be one of two colors. Red or blue. And of course it has to have the white SS stripes. But that is too plain and typical. You know these guys are going to do something that blows your mind. Bring it on boys.
We agree with you there for sure! We're on the fence though whether we want to add those stripes back in though!
awesome build !!! Love it
Mikey - Good choice on how you did the hood. I think putting the grills inside and tacking them in place was the right thing. Ultimately, it'll look a lot better. Well done.
EDIT: As far as the color? It has to be red, lol! (IOW: I have no clue, so just threw down my favorite color :o)
I'm a huge fan of the Azure Aqua personally.
im gona go way out on a limb candy apple green cause a lot of people gona be green with envy with this car
ooooh we like that! This thing would be an absolute neck breaker with some candy green paint!
Wow can’t wait for next week. That thing is going to look slick with all the custom panels. Can’t wait. I think it will be a green tone of some sort
Dark forest green with white stripes
I think a nardo grey would be sick. Candy red always looks good
I'd go woth a matte navy blue!
That would be gorgeous on the car. The matte would definitely help bring out the body lines!
Bro, nice work, corvette Blue would look bad ass
I like the idea of keeping it some Chevy factory colors too!
Dark Blue
Like a deep navy?
Hope it will stay bright orange! No matter the color, the fab work is great and the car will be sick.
Thanks so much! This orange definitely has grown on us over the course of this build. We're on the fence about keeping it or changing it!
Guys down the street from me had a 396 SS Chevelle think it was a 72 , orange with the wide black strips.
Killer work guys!!!!
Candy Apple Red would be my guess
Definitely gotta go candy with whatever color it ends up in
I'll go with blue for the color
Great build, I feel like it's gonna turn out red after it gets back from paint.
She would look pretty killer in red!
Love the blue 79 ford lifted in back. Going to paint shop. Love see video of that truck please it will make my day
I loved that orange and wished it would have stayed. Im going to guess a deep darkish red. Almost burgundy.
This orange has really grown on us over the course of this build! So who knows? It might just be staying!
A 55 Chevy 2 dr coupe or hard top and a 70 Chevelle, two of my most favorite street rods. I absolutely love the custom cowl and under-hood panel, rad shroud mods. The chassis is beautiful , exhaust manifolds, console, dash, too much to mention , eye candy overload. This ride is freakin cool, nothing not to like about it.
Mikey if this were mine, SS badged I would be torn between a choice of colors because they would all look killer on a 70 Chevelle:
Candy brandy wine with black stripes.
Candy apple red / stripes
Gun metal grey
All gloss Black with black satin / flat or white rally stripes.
Variation of gold with stripes
I don't know if its even possible to choose a wrong color for a 70
Brown. No car should ever be painted brown. The color of poo. And that was a factory Chevelle color. I just couldn't imagine going to a Chev dealership in 1970 and saying "I want to buy a Chevelle. And I want it in brown."
@@-Mike-69 Yes you re right, brown on a 70 Chevelle would be a sacrilege
Ty for the content y’all are amazing 🔥🔥🔥💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Thanks for watching! We really appreciate the support!
Some type of metallic gray I would bet.
Chevelle from Hell!!!
Love what you guys are doing with it...
Damn that frame looks expensive! Thanks for taking us along with y'all, excellent work!
Thanks for watching! It's awesome knowing y'all are enjoying these builds!
YEAAAAh best channel, thats how u eat an ad , really smooth
Glad you enjoy it!
@SalvagetoSavage- ur mom
What ever color it is. Will be great to see it All together great tear down video by the way.
Florida antique license plate baby blue
That's such a good idea! Make that plate blend right into the car!
This will be a Awesome Chevelle iLove it.🙂
Thank you!
It's gonna be rainbow 🌚👍🏻
"Can't pick the wrong color if I guess em all!" lol
My guess is Gold 👍🏼
Are we talking a chrome-like gold, or a gold flake here? Cause we'd be down for either one!
I was thinking like an old school gold like these chevelles came with from the factory, not the mustard color but like a nice tone of flakey gold with maybe some black trim would look sick 🤘🏻
bets on dark-ish midnight purple (metalics)
Just found yalls videos , love the work yall do, great seeing Rolls as a hands on owner 👍
I hope it's orange and white, the set up looks good...
that combo has definitely grown on us over the course of this build!
Yellow and satin black
We talkin a mustard yellow or canary yellow?
Anything but Red, Yellow or Orange. Blue would be sweet!
What shade of blue though?
@@SalvagetoSavage electric blue
Plum Crazy Purple.
Red with Black Rally stripes🟥◾️◾️🟥
We're definitely liking the idea of keeping the original racing stripes!
Yeassss been waiting for more chevelle content you guys are killing it as always keep up the great work ❤❤
Thank you so much! We're glad you're liking the build. We're hoping to give you guys some more consistent episodes on this now that we can get it rolling into the paint booth!
Blue with white stripes
The welding alone is like 2000hrs of billable work
Purple
L ove S e X y, my favourite build is back and going for a facial.....Yellow or red
got to be the call for the colour. I hope im not wrong.
Keep up the good work lads.
Awaiting the next drop with anticipation.
Mossy Green
My vote for color would be to paint it the original orange with white stripes, only since you updated the look, make the stripes updated like a 6th gen Camaro.👍
I am guessing either a red or black! Any color is going to make this thing look great! Love these old cars!
Looking awesome Mikey! Love this build. I dunno… nardo grey?😎💯
Thank you!! We definitely had some nardo gray swatches out when picking out samples!
Candy blue pearl
A pearl would look really nice! You're the first person to suggest mixing that into a color!
Cobalt blue pearl!!! Please lol
Cranberry Red!
We've definitely been eyeing those deep red wine tones for the paint!
My guess for color is BLUE!
We'd love a nice deep metallic blue on this car!
Candy Apple Red
That would look sick. It would definitely break some necks in red!
Candy red maybe ?? Or purple. Either way its going to be a badass build !! 💪🏽💪🏽 im excited to the next video. Much love from Denmark 💙✌🏽
Gotta keep the Hugger Orange
Keep it true to the original?
@@SalvagetoSavage the Chevelle looks bad ass in Hugger Orange .......just my opinion
