A+ tutorial and the background music is a plus. One of my professors once said, “you can never learn enough”. From your last response, I haven’t uploaded any videos because of my own road block. Pretty much, lost in direction
What a neat process, Rachael! I love that we get to see all aspects of your Mary Magdalene concept from the point of creating a dress form for her fur costume. At minute 1:15 it looked just like a bowl of delicious mashed potatoes! Minute 3:45 I am thinking popcorn! Hehe
Thanks so much Dena! That's exactly what I'm going for. I want to show the entire thing and shine a light onto all of the hours of work, research, and resources that can go into a "simple" project like this. Maybe it will cut down on the "I could have done that" crowd. Just remember if you try to make this stuff, no matter how delicious it looks DON'T EAT IT! :)
Well except for the blurry bits of photography at the start, this was a very good video! If anybody has compared it to commercially purchased paper clay, let me know how it compares!
Me :mom im going to make Clay toilet paper Mom do not what is toilet paper we need toilet paper because of corona!!!!!!!!! Me :ohhhh? I’m gonna make slime in my room with the toilet paper mom :noooo!!!!!we need it ok!!!!!!!!!! In trouble
let's see get my cat to unroll a whole thing of toilet paper fun time for the cat check every now and than to see how cay is doing with the job in which the cat believes is play time than at end mix and mix and than punch it yeah stress release love making this clay lol thank you for the receipe
Can we all take a moment and appreciate her upper body strength. Also I was wondering if i can put this clay over a paper mache sphere to create a thick outter shell?

"There's another: _Death winning the philosophical battle, celebrating its triumph of longevity over life's fleeting existence!_ genius!" *..." ah hem, Rachael: where's the bloody loo-roll?"*
Thank you so much for sharing this video Racheal ! and I do like the ideal of working with your own hands better because you can feel it’s if the dough soft or dry! As least you can feel it’s and either add if it’s need more….. I wanted to ask you have you done any jewelry? Will this drought be good for jewelry? Thank you. Have a blessed day.🤍🙋♀️🤍
Thanks so much for this I’m definitely going to have a go! But could you please elaborate on the “joint compound” what is it and what make do you use please? Thanks again👍🏻
It is a putty used to smooth the spaces between newly installed sheetrock. I use the "multi-purpose" type made by a company called USG. Any brand should work though. I hope that you have great results, and thanks for watching!
Rachael Padilla Ah right I know what you mean now!! Gona have to go buy some as soon as possible but do you have any idea what it would turn out like without the joint compound please? Thank you so much for your reply it’s very much appreciated, you definitely have a new subscriber in me👍🏻
I am trying to make a full-face masquerade mask for a dance team performance. How fragile is the paper mache when it is dry? Would it break if it was dropped?
Hi Rachael,, I was single framing thorough your latest video of the TP clay and saw your camera doing a lot of focus pulls, since you're staying in one place ( as you often do when ur working ) consider setting your camera to manual focus ( MF) and then focus the camera on anything that is in the plane of where you want the focus to be sharp ( hands/bowl, etc ) . If you use manual aperture control , then a larger number f-stop will give you greater depth of field so your manual focus plane will be deeper and more inclusive of your subject ( you ). I have had some focus pulls and attendant exposure changes ( indoor lights ) with my Canon and this completely fixed the problem. ( for steady frame videos with little or no panning and very little zooming.) Give it a try, and with just a bit of practice, you can get rid those pesky focus pulls. ~ Savanna ~ ( Ps I like this video..but you're pretty dark in this...hmmm )
Hi! Thanks for watching! I've had the most success using this clay in molds. I've created a dress form and a face mask. You can see the videos here: czcams.com/video/1NJiNsb8Bw0/video.html and here: czcams.com/video/qikdPbWLxPs/video.html
Hi.....liked yr video nd I'm convinced! But what can be used as a joining compound.....though u hv used white glue too ! So.. wanted to know about the joining agent ! 🤔🤔🤔
Instead of a blender, maybe try mixing ingredients with an electric mixer, like you'd mix cookie dough or cake batters. Have you sculpted with this clay? Will check your channel. Thanks!
Plays classical music (Tchaikovski's Swan Lake Ballet?) while unrolling toilet paper. Very classy.
Yes yes the fancy art of toilet paper 😃
Yes swanlake toilet paper is soooo fancy
@@eloises.5582 Like a swan floating in a lake…
😂😂😂😂😂
I love her music chioce
I recommend that you put the soaked paper into an old cloth and then squeeze it,it will help take out more water😊🌹🤗
Thank you for posting- this is the paper mache process that produces finer-textured surfaces
This is so satisfying to watch. I actually made this in school as a child I remember it being very cool.
Thanks! It's so easy to make, and I am always impressed with how durable it is once dry.
La fórmula la podías poner en español gracias
@@RachaelPadilla hello Rachael I follow you from Algeria (North Africa)... Can we keep it for a long time?? how long please...??

Thank you! I'm glad that it was entertaining, even if you never make paper clay. If you ever get past your roadblock I'll be looking forward to it.
I enjoy watching this! I rewatched the other day for a project that's still in my head
Thank you!
Her after draining the water:"drain more water"
me:forbidden mashed potatoes😋😋
The music is so perfect for this, genial.
That looked like a lot of work but it’s worth it at the end!! I am going to try this!!
You can do it!
Thanks for the video yours was the only one who was able to help me
Glad to hear it! Thanks for watching!
Thank you for teaching us! Looks great and I will try it. 🙋🏻♀️
Hope you enjoy
Thank you for a very simple yet detailed demonstration! Nice music too!
Glad it was helpful!
My goodness that looks fun. I would make it in a small plastic trash can.
I use a doubled up peice of tulle to drain and squeeze. Great video!
That's a great idea!
Thanks for sharing. I’ll use my hands, too.😊
Thanks, very useful video and music is awesome....very calming and melodious

Going to give this a go for sure. Great video and thanks for sharing how to do this.😊😊😊😊
Excellent! It's great for many projects! Thanks for watching!
We used a paper clay in our valentines video making love spoons. I love paper clay so would really like to have a go at making it.😊

Tremendous effort by you 😮😮😮
Is it really safe to handle the clay without gloves once the joint compound is present? Most joint compounds I see tell you not to.
Gloves would be safer.
Great video. Thanks.
Love the music. Sorry about the blender. Thanks for the video ~

Thanks! I would imagine it would bond well with paper mache, but I've never used it that way. It is a very thick and heavy clay.
I did it for a huge 8th grade project and it works perfectly

Could you use a stand mixer instead of a blender ?
I suppose that you could, but it's awfully hard on the motor.

Is there an alternate to joint compound?
Not that I know of.
Is it okay if you don't use joint compound?
Very Nice,,,Thank you me!
How to make or buy joint compound?
I am trying to make a full-face masquerade mask for a dance team performance. How fragile is the paper mache when it is dry? Would it break if it was dropped?
My experience with this paper clay is that once dried, it is not fragile at all.
What is the “joint compound” stuff??
Can I make this without white glue ?
I don't think so.
What's "ready made join compound"?

Thanks for the feedback, Savanna! Noted for next time, I realized the problem during editing.
Merry Christmas Rachael Padilla! One question. Can you make this recipe without the joint compound?
Probably, I never have though. It would likely not dry as hard or as fast.
Por favor podrias decirme que es este producto no lo puedo traducir al español no entiendo.JOINT COMPOUND acaso es yeso?

Hi its very cool. Have a question is any optional for joint compound, thanks a lot for sharing the wonderful video.
I don't think so. The joint compound helps it dry and harden.
Hi.....liked yr video nd I'm convinced!
But what can be used as a joining compound.....though u hv used white glue too !
So.. wanted to know about the joining agent !
🤔🤔🤔
Hi ! What's the joint compound you use ?
I think the brand was USG.
This is how you make Popeyes biscuits.....!!!!!!💯😩😩😩😩😩

Instead of a blender, maybe try mixing ingredients with an electric mixer, like you'd mix cookie dough or cake batters. Have you sculpted with this clay? Will check your channel. Thanks!
Yes I have sculpted with it. It dries very hard and durable.
You can make without flour.
But don't make if you're run out of toilet paper.
no entendí un producto¿ compuesto? que es eso
Would it help if blender is used before squeezing out water?
Good idea!
