- Here it is, my First Ride of the all new 2024 @scottsports Ransom RC 900. This is SCOTT's latest 'Enduro' offering and is completely redesigned to be aggressive, confidence inspiring and all round fun! I took out to some local trails to test it, get it all setup and have some fun on... I was completely blown away by how capable it was!!
Super stoked on this #NewBikeDay learn more about the #SCOTTRansom here: bit.ly/SCOTTRansom2024
Some FAQ about my Ransom:
- I'm riding a size large and I'm 189cm (a 6 foot 2).
- The cable integration is easy to install and work on (I mean see for yourself)
- The bike has a 170mm of travel front and rear
- The shock is super easy to access thanks to the huge space in the frame
- There is now storage for a tube and multi tool in the frame
Any questions leave them down below, thanks for watching and see you on the trails for the first ride of it.

Well if it isn't Scotty Flyland absolutely soaring through those laps! 🦅Happy to see you like the Ransom, it clearly likes you back!
You guys have made the perfect concoction of a fast and fun bike! 🧪 💨 ✊
Please do not make a Gambler like this. I Hate that you did to the bike. Internal cables and a subspession that is not really changeable to a different shock. I hope this product is very unsuccesful and scott ingeniers come to their senses.
Gorgeous enduro bike!
I have a 2019 Ransom Tuned and still love every bit of my bike. I bet this new version is just as sick or I would expect “better”. The internal real shock is pretty cool. Beautiful bike you have there.
Awesome bike lovit
Thanks man! It’s really cool!
POV footage is nuts!
Coming from the king! 🤝
Absolutly amazing!
But long time no new stuff?😢
Is the channel still alive?
Greetz from Bavaria an keep on:)
I just did my first test ride on this bike and my mind was blown. I almost don't want to love it as much as I do with the internal headset routing. How bad are those to work with?
Wooo woooo !!!!!, you wear gloves now Scotty 😂😂😂
Very nice first ride, and as Always, awsome bike , lucky Scotty 👍👍👍
Super vidéo !!!!!
Thanks James! Stoked you liked it. Been wearing gloves for a little while, the Traction gloves are comfy as… Very lucky Scotty!!
Another great watch !! broke my right colar bone on that berm coming of dont send it ....5th run , last one of the day 😂 pitmedden is great fun !!! I am running an eeb now, pole voima, but i have to say , I've watched ypure self and loamwolf reviews on the scott ransom and it looks incredible 🔥
Oh man, I’m sorry to hear that! Hope you’re healing up nicely… It’s such a fun little spot and perfect for lapping, really enjoying rediscovering it!! Can’t praise the bike enough - it’s brilliant.
Godamn, one of the most proprietary and integrated bikes I’ve ever seen! 4 levers on the left grip!
Just 3 levers, lockout, release and dropper post! Wait till you ride it, you won’t even notice the levers and you’ll be mind blown by it…
@@ScottyLaughland+brake lever =4! That’s a lot of responsibility for one hand😎
This rig is soooo clean
Unbelievably so! I love it!!
Awesome bike. Looks very agile. Quick question...can you link your helmet and glasses pls 🙏 so hard to find scott gear online. Thank you.
It’s the SCOTT Stego helmet I’m running and the Pro Shield glasses with clear lenses. You should be able to order through their website or alternatively go to a dealer!

My local 🤘
What a spot man!
Scotty, when are you going to review the new Scott Voltage eRIDE? As dedicated Scott Genius rider this eMTB version looks like it hits all the right notes
Good question Andy! I’m waiting on one at the moment to build up then do my usual style first ride on. Can’t wait as I’ve been riding the Lumen a lot and now it’s got a bigger brother it’s going to be the ticket I’d say!!
@@ScottyLaughlandReally impressed with the Lumen but what I really wanted in an E MTB was an electric version of my Genius. Voltage really looks like the business! ... looking very forward to your review whenever that happens
compared to my 2020 Ransom (Tuned also with 170mm travel) this pig of a bike is about 2 kg heavier and $2 k more expensive. The crazy complex and heavy six bar suspension is a ticking time bomb. Yeah, this may be a great ride initially but wait a couple of years when you need to take apart the suspension using special tools including dentistry mirrors. If the new Ransom is the answer, then what was the question? I would maybe pay this money if the bike had gotten 2kg lighter but instead it has become 2kg heavier! What kind of enduro rider really wishes to hide the shock? If anything, it would make more sense to protect the fork. I did manage to get scratches on fork stanchions but never had a problem with my rear shock. Objectively: this is heavy, complex and expensive pig. Scott must be desperate to try to find a new user base. Maybe they are successful provided the unique nature of the hidden shock design. I have yet to find current Ransom riders looking forward to this mess. And the bike mechanics fixing the current Genius and Sparks using the same technology are not exactly enthused about this new design. The only good thing for them is that any repair related to shock and headsets take much longer and so they can charge more. But finally, subjectively speaking, the hardtail eBike optics are not doing much for me either. No more Scott for me.
Hi Scotty. I currently have the Scott Scale 930 hardtail. Thinking of adding a dropper post. Do you recommend this? Or should i look to upgrading to the 930 spark? Any feedback would be grateful 🙏
Stoked you love the Scale if you can justify the upgrade to the Spark I’d certainly say it’s worth the upgrade. It’ll be more comfortable and confidence inspiring so if you can go for it…
Thanks man.
great video! You were quite ripping on those trails. As a dedicated Genius rider I have to know, how does the trac loc compare to the twin loc, upon which I'm utterly dependent?? Any thoughts on running the bike as a mullet? More videos please ;)
Thank you! It compares very similarly, maybe a 10% difference say as it’s not fully fully locked out but it eliminates almost all pedal bob. Love flicking it on at the bottom of a climb and knowing you have a little extra…
Interested in running it as a mullet as it’s something I’ve never explored, need to see if I can get a rear wheel!
Plenty more videos planned especially once the weather gets better!! Thanks for following…
@@ScottyLaughland Thanks for reply. Thats encouraging that the Trac Loc does stiffen up the bike. We do loads of tough climbs here, that feature is so helpful. I run my 2018 700 tuned genius as a mullet, works great. Look forward to more of your videos!
Awesome bike and riding. What side of Dunkeld is that? those trails look wild!
Thank you! Clue this isn’t Dunkeld… 🤐 It’s in Perthshire tho!!
Im an idiot i've ridden this place 100 times. @@ScottyLaughland
80% the rider 20% the bike
If the bike gives me a little more I’ll take it and this is one of them…
@@ScottyLaughland for sure
Where is this?
What camera are you using now? Gopro or dji
This was filmed with a chest mounted gimbal!
Why another bike? You already have so many "dream bikes"...
Ever heard of the N + 1 rule?
Very crappy bike. I hate it!
Everyone’s opinions different but tell me, how’s it crappy? I’d whole heartedly disagree with you and the reviews say anything but that…
Internal cables and the shock are a nightmare. I bet the bike rides good but the old did too so why make it worse. You cant ride a RS or every other shock because you can´t reach the buttons.@@ScottyLaughland
The handlebar is also not optimal! It is like nike only sold shoes in size 8, 11 and 14. It is not fitting everyone. Just very poor.@@ScottyLaughland
What’s wrong with internal cables. Looks sick
