I know this is an old comment but how come in The Storm and Tsavo Highway levels of Halo 3 there is actually some rain at some parts of the level?I know they said they couldn't implement it in the vidocs. It's not torrential rainfall like in this trailer but it was a little bit so I'm not sure why they couldn't have at least that much in ODST. Even one of the ODST vidocs shows a small bit of in-game footage of the rookie in the rain. Truly wish that if this game got an anniversary remaster it would get heavy rain during certain portions of the time you spend in the New Mombassa streets as the Rookie. It would really add to the experience and probably obtain the original goal.

You actually play as a few different ODST units. At the begining, they show you the end. You then have to play through the game to figure out how that happened. You get to play as each member of the squad seperated squad, each boasting unique skills.
My favorite part is after the pod pops he just has the gun in a sentry type stance. That’s all you see scanning the area. They were liking being tactical for this game.
The whole making of the spartans in the book was pretty mad I thought. Just because you have some problem with the character, which you didn't explain, doesn't mean you should rip into someone who wrote they liked him. Really looking forward to this game. Like a lot of people have said it's going to be interesting seeing the halo universe through different eyes. Seeing a group of brutes/elites (don't know the timeline of this game) might be a "oh shit!' experience as opposed to "ownage time"
I love that they used the sound effect of the phantoms in this trailer and scrapped into its explosion sound effect. That's how you know they you weren't dumb to just scrap the whole thing off, they used it for something else. Smart. I love this game.
The game was a great albeit short single player campaign romp but this game so much untapped potential with its setting. You effectively play as a super soldier not unlike the master chief when you're supposed to be just a down to earth soldier that's facing monstrous enemies. Being an ODST should have had much more of an impact on the gameplay mechanics and sandbox.
Reminds me of Pathways into Darkness: Unfortunately things don't go quite as planned. During the jump from the C-151 your primary parachute fails, and you are able to pull the reserve only moments before crashing through the forest canopy toward the ground. Two hours later you awake, unharmed except for a few bruises, to realize that most of your equipment is missing or damaged (fortunately someone else jumped with the nuclear device).

In Halo 3: Recon is a story about a ODST "Helljumper" landing in New Mombasa when the covenant cruiser's slipspace reactor cause a explosion. In the game youll be able to play as 4 ODST Marine ( all in same squad ) you will start has "Rook" in the beggining then you will play as a sniper, which I forgot his name, then a rifleman and a heavy weapons man who weilds a Sparttan Laser and a Rocket Launcher. Rook was seperated from his squad on impact in orbit during the explosion.
