I stopped at a gas station. When I went in the bathroom, I checked the paper towels and they had none. So I used the bathroom didn't wash. Went up to the guy at the counter and shook his hand and put my other hand on top of his hand and said I just wanted to thank you for doing such a good job cleaning the bathroom. You didn't put any papertowels in there so I didn't wash my hands. I used a moist towelette when I got to my truck.

I clean at a place and if you put paper towels there they get stolen. If you have a machine it will disappear. It’s sad!

I am a Customer Service Rep for an insurance company and I ALWAYS try to be upbeat, positive, polite, and LISTEN to what the customer is saying. There are times when I am unable to get a disgruntled customer happy but those kinds of calls don't happen all the time. Usually, I can turn the customer around to not being so unhappy. So, to hear of people like that in any kind of convenience store or fast food act like that is ridiculous! I like your attitudes of being positive...don't let them get you down!!!!!
Your story reminds me of why I love my Buckees for food and restrooms. Never pass a Buckees.

I have had a few bad experiences with customer service but I must give a huge shout out to the young lady at a McDonald’s somewhere in Oklahoma we stop there with a party of 15 people she took our order with a smile lead us to an area with tables to accommodate us delivered our food to us and checked on us brought us refills all with a smile. She got and deserved a. Good tip and Thank you
😊when I have to serve myself and they ask for a tip , I say ok here's your tip... Don't expect something for nothing and you'll make it far in this world. 😂😂😂😂
SO SORRY WITH ALL THE BAD ATTITUDES AND POOR SERVICE, IT CAN RUIN AN OTHERWISE GREAT TRIP. HOME WILL LOOK SOOOO GOOD WHEN YOU GET THERE.
That is why I have a camper, when we go places we have our bathroom and our kitchen with us! Need a sandwich? We have access to snacks, lunch, drinks in the refrigerator and a clean bathroom! Wet wipes work wonderful when needed!😊❤
I am sick about Lillian!!!! Breaks my heart to think of her hungry, thirsty, alone and scared!!!!! When everything settles down, I'm praying she will go back to Syd's house!!!!

We just got a new 3 year old dog and when we got to our house and got her out of the truck she jumped out of our arms and was missing 2 1/2 days. She kept coming back but was so scared. With all the shooting and fireworks it's no wonder she would be scared. Don't give up.
You're exactly right David, it feels like we are pressured to give a tip regardless if the service is good or bad. With the rising prices on everything, it makes it hard to be too generous with the tips but I do what I can..❤
Happy you all had a fantastic time! I used to work in fast food many years ago and I had a customer who got his order wrong. He was irate and yelling at me and I said sir calm down and let me make this right for you. I'm sorry it wasn't what you wanted. I offered to make it over and give him his money back and throw in something extra . He didn't want anything I offered. He said I want your job ! I tried my best to make him happy and he wasn't having it . He continued and by this time I was getting upset and told him..I don't know what you want me to do..I can't make you happy. He said again I want your job . Soil started to take off my apron and told him that you can have my job because I have to deal with people like you . I have so many stories but that one I remember. Customer service is hard sometimes with people like that. 😊❤
Yeah it’s nothing like it used to be , people at some time forgot how to parent that’s where the customer service comes from our country has changed so much in a lot of cities states you get it , it’s bad and getting worse

There is no excuse for rudeness in any job, whether or not you are behind the desk or face to face. I had a customer who was stealing some mdse and i confronted him and he took a pot shot at my face with his fist and i ducked. This was one of the street people who visited our store daily and we treated him with kindness etc, but this one day he acts up and i almost took a right upper cut to my face. He was arrested only to come back regularly. I am a female if anyone's wondering. I was working for a major drug store chain. Mike i hope they dont find anything real serious when u go to the hospital for x-rays etc, and it was visible on your face with the pain. Praying for relief soon. Love you guys, from a Mphs fan.
Greetings from Northeast Ohio. Little Lillian will probably stay hidden for three days. Syd needs to call a vet and borrow a trap for small domestic pets and set the trap. I’m part of a group here that traps for dogs and cats that are lost in our area. We are able to find many and reunite them with their owner. What a reunion that is. The backseat is very different on the ride home then on the way down. David, you’ve got cars passing you on the left and the right L O L.

So sorry about little Lillian I hope she shows up soon. When yall were describing Jason grabbing the 4 wheeler the song Big John went through my head lol. Jason now is Big Bad John lol. Maybe it was a good thing I didn't go to Mississippi lol. Because if people are that rude I will get the number of the corporation. I was a store manager for way to long. I will turn them in lol. That was one thing if my workers had a bad attitude I gave them a reason to have one I would send them home for the day and tell them not to return unless they had a better attitude.

Oh my goodness!!.I am still at work and had to bring my phone to the restroom and I am not one of those....my boss and I were just talking about this the other day. How rude and obnoxious people are. Pull up to the drive- through and all I hear is ",order when you're ready " not hello how are you today... me I'll take a number 3 them...what do you want to drink?? Me I'll take a dr.pepper please if you have it them...pull on around ..and you got better sense than to complain bc only God knows what they will do to your food or drink I don't think that they even hire adult managers anymore. Since covid and Bden started paying them to sit on their..laurels they don't want to work.

And the part about the tipping. Lots of places went to the walk up to the counter...since the funk was released on us...and people felt bad for the owners bc things had been shut down for so long and they would tend to tip when they were able to help...well minimum wage has gone up and now people are paying quadruple the price for the food, I don't feel the need to pay that 18, 20 or whatever percent on top of the high cost of food when I am picking it up taking it home and cleaning up behind myself...😢
Subway has a tip jar. Beautician's expect a tip and they charge a lot to start with
My husband is a truck driver and he tells me all the time that the workers at the truck stops are always rude . And are always out of everything when it comes to the restaurant.

It was my great pleasure yesterday to shop FOOD LAND in Arab Alabama, where I didn't see any employee under 60 years old . I was there with my sister to pick up mac and cheese from the deli served and prepared by a young lady who remembers what good clean food and customer service is about. My elderly brother-in-law is in the hospital facing his final days . Everyone was loving on my sister .. I may relocate .

It is very sad that it has come down to this. Mississippi is known for their hospitality. Heck it is the “Hospitality State”. I don’t know where to place the blame. Whether it be in management or the way, the younger generation has been brought up. But somewhere along the way, the ball has been dropped. Excellent, and friendly customer service is a thing of the past. I am so sorry you had bad customer service in the SIP. For me, our hospitality used to be a source of pride. It made me feel good for people to say “ People around here are so friendly. They treat you like family.” Just keep in mind that not all people in Mississippi are like that. When you’re around me you’re gonna be treated like family.

They act like their doing you a favor doing what they are paid for . You have another tractor. Awesome. I'm sorry to hear about Roxannes furbaby. Maybe Sid and Mike can find her. I totally agree with you. I worked in customer service for alot of years and no matter how rude a customer might be I would kill them with kindness. There were a couple of times that I called this old man darling and one day his wife came in and said your the one that calls my husband darling and honey. I thought she was going to yell at me, but instead thanked me for making her 82 year old husband feel special.

Did ya tip’em?! I’m being facetious, but that seems to be the expectation. I on occasion would like to go out, but have virtually stopped doing that. Most places have priced themselves out of the market because of service, and quality and mostly attitude. So I prepare at home and get what I want how I want it and the only attitude is mine sitting on my patio in the quiet. And enjoying it!

It has just been unreal how many places ask you for a tip for doing their on jobs, drive thru to stores wanting to you round up your change to them to the nearest dollar. I went to Taco John’s (northwest fake Mexican fast food.) The servers are a very young crowd. They are the sweetest kids! So cheerful & kind! But they need a lot more training. But it’s so worth the money just to come in contact with the young people that work there.

Hey, your friend from Wyoming here. I live in a small town. Customer service isn't what it used to be. That's for sure. But nothing like what you described here. Sheesh. I'm 60 years old , and I will call them on their sh*t. I think most of us old folks will. Lol. Then I instantly want to know why this managers employees are so unhappy. Lol. David. Why are you running the 2nd lane pulling a trailer. You need to be on the sholder and use the 2nd or middle lane to pass only. You have cars and Trucks passing you on the Right..cmom on man!!

@philipparcel2548 not only that if something happens like a flat or say a Axle breaks, all 3 lanes are closed and possible Accidents. On the sholder you only have the left lane to worry about.
It sounds to me like a lot of people live in areas where the major highways stay straight, and never divide up or off to stay in the same direction. Here in NY, you stay in the lane that takes you where you are going, regardless of which lane it becomes. Left, Right, or Center.

Yall i love close to the Alabama Gulf Coast and I pretty much work there most days. Some of the restaurants are charging for refills now. Like some places it's close to 4 bucks a drink (no alcohol). Inflation is inflationing.
We have stopped going out for meals now because the food is poorly cooked and very expensive, and usually cold or thrown at you. Also no friendly chat any more from waitresses. ❤❤❤❤

OK, we went to Walmart bought groceries, checked ourselves out! The manager was checking our buggy and such no problem. Well she accused us for not paying for paper towels and toilet paper 5 times it just went on and on!! I was just about to snap and send that buggy full somewhere........ it was ridiculous, loud attitude was awful!! I was a waitress a long time, I loved it, even on a tired busy day I smiled, refilled drinks exchange pie or whatever else they needed or wanted. My customers appreciated me and paid me great tips!! If you're going to work in the public you need to be kind, mannerd, smile be helpful or go home someone else may need that job!! I wish for you all safe travels blessings to you all!!!

You are correct. Customer service is going down hill fast nowadays. The past two years, it seems every restaurant and fast food expects a tip given to them. My trip the other day to our neighborhood summer ice cream stand took me by surprise. $ 19.87 For a sandwich, small Fry and drink. Then there was the tip besides. The only work the young girl did was take the order and bring back the food in a part bad and to-go cup. She was in a 50's outfit and in rollerskates.
