This makes so much sense for me, it’s been a brutal few years for me due to autoimmune diseases. That along with other large life stressors to the freeze response. Most days I’m shut down and dissociating. I feel so much better when I’m at social events and with my friends. My problem aside of the health issues, is that I can’t stop freeze response. I should go to my gym a few times a week even just to walk or get out but I feel so stuck and helpless like there’s no way out.
Dealing with autoimmune diseases and stress is tough. Socializing and gentle exercise like walking can help break the cycle of freeze response. Starting small and seeking support can make a big difference in feeling more empowered and less stuck. - YOGABODY Team
No I totally disagree. The first step is to connect with a sense of safety then connect to yourself in the present moment. The body will naturally move into a fight/flight state and once that is encountered with a concurrent sense of safety then the nervous system can naturally move into a state where socialising will be beneficial. These are the steps in Polyvagal theory. If social connection doesn’t feel safe when we’re in freeze then my experience has been that it will actually strengthen the freeze response. Social connection without self-connection in a safe container is a short-term solution at best.

From my experience people are either fake or outright evil. At 40 I'm done trying with em

that's why women always need to talk when they're upset!! that makes so much sense

Frozen I avoid everyone so how should I connect when shut down? This advice is useless.
