you did not provide the details of trying to track the air tag. You only provided the finished results, not showing the screen on tracking. I have done all the above you mentioned, but not able to see the car on the map when tracking.
You forgot to mention that if your car / bike etc is stolen by someone with an iPhone not paired with that tag, after a while the tag will alert the none paired phone that they are being tracked
All part of tracking laws.
They would either look for the airtag or ditch your car/bike etc

@@oscarayala7852 But, you can remove the speaker inside the tag, so no beeping sound, makes it more difficult to find.

You can remove the speaker from the airtag and put the battery back so the thief can’t find it and you still be able to track it

No. Just don’t press the sound button unless you track it down. If you know your car is stolen, don’t press the sound button.
I didn’t get the part when you said it is best to leave it near your doors so if someone else with an iphone is passing by your car they can track the tag? So anyone can track your tag so long as they have an iphone or have I misunderstood what she said? I thought it is linked to an apple id and only that person can track the tag? She also said at the end of the video that the way it is tracked is affected depending on how many iphones are nearby to it? Can someone elaborate?
It used their phone to ping it’s location to you without them knowing or being affected. Only problem is if you car is stolen and an AirTag is with a unknown iPhone for a period it will send that phone a notification sayin an airtag has been detected traveling with you. So if someone steals your car and have an iPhone they will know your tracking them. They can then set the AirTag to play a sound, find it and disable it or turn their phone to aeroplane mode and continue to drive while you loose the signal until it connects to another iPhone.

@@MM-dv5fo direct tracking with your own phone is very bad! when the AirTag is behind walls it’s not picking up the signal. But you get the position through other iPhones and that works very good!

With a knife, you can remove the AirTag speaker. There are several videos on CZcams showing how to do it.

I don't have an iPhone, but I do have an iPad. It appears that the tag and my iPad have to have access to wifi to work. Is that correct? I couldn't find my tag unless I was on my wifi.
So why won't mine show real time tracking so I can actually see where my truck is going ?
Also make sure to leave a sign in your window for criminals to not have an iPhone on them. From what I’ve seen is they’ll get a notice if the tag is with them for a while

keep in mind most criminals dont bring their phone with them for a thief job so he would never know hes tracked because he wouldnt be able to see on his phone that an air tag is tracking him

Answered the questions I had about ordering them. I just got 4 from Amazon for almost $90 bucks ! I have a Dodge Durango & a dog that I would hate to be stolen ! Also a set of keys and wallet lol…well taken care of vehicle btw , also a very beautiful woman !…I wish you would’ve tried finding it without the owners phone though.

@@qbanz00 actually i dont have an iphone but i gave the car yesterday night to a friend, today he was driving it and it kept telling him that there is an Airtag nearby, while he is driving on the highway... he pulled over and he has an iphone so he was able to make it ring and he found it in the windshield cowel, passenger side right under the hood where you dont really see it
If the air tag can be located via beeping sounds then this will not work as vehicle tracking if stolen. most criminals will send a beep to locate the tags in the vehicle unless this air tag will only beep to a phone it is paired with. I'm sure there will be a hack anyone's iphone can pair to any air tag.

What if the thief has an iPhone?
I opened my air tag, removed the speaker coil and closed it back. Now my air tag doesn’t make any sound so it’s a bit harder to find in the car.
So can the thief play the sound too?

It pings off of other iPhones. So as long as it comes within a certain distance of another iPhone, it can be tracked from miles away.

Ok, but what about a stranger putting THEIR airtag on YOUR car, how do you get it off of your car when you get the notification that it has been traveling with you? You can't sound it since it's not your own?

As part of anti illegal tracking laws apple has incorporated a system within the tag, that if it has been in contact with an iPhone not paired to it, for some time, then it will alert that iPhone it is being tracked, thus allowing the thief's iPhone to activate the sounder finding the tag and disposing of it.
If it is intended to use the tag solely for theft tracking, then the tag has to be dismantled and the magnet removed, preventing the tag sounding.
@@rainofrest7778 yes, but I removed the speaker for this reason. Just pry the AirTag apart and remove the speaker. It’s just held in by a bit of glue. Put it back together and you have yourself a stealthy AirTag ;)

I don’t get the point. If your bag or whatever you’re tracking is stolen, the thief gets an alert that there’s an AirTag if they have an iPhone, which is likely. Doesn’t that defeat the purpose?

Easy to track somebody when you’re following them and why do you have to have his iPhone? Why can’t you track him with yours? The person stealing my car is not gonna have my phone too.

I’m looking into it because someone stole the keys from my vehicle. As of now, they can open the door with my old keys but can’t start the car. I was thinking of getting one in case they came back and hot wired the car or something. That is unfortunate that it alerts them that there’s an AirTag
But also good at the same time in case a kidnapper placed one on someone’s car.
It wouldn’t do much good. The thief would be alerted that there’s an AirTag nearby, and they’d find it and disable it. This thing is really only good for nearby lost items, such as keys or dog collars.

Yes they can, after a time if the tag senses there is the same iPhone in its vicinity for some time, that is not paired to it, then it will notify that phone that there is a tag tracking it, the would be thief is then able to make the tag play its sounder, find it, and dispose of it.
