I have the first two compendiums and am picking up the third. I love this series. Easily in my top ten favorite comics of all time. I am waiting for the first season to end to see how it is but I am so happy more folks are checking it out.

I have the first one but didn't start reading it yet I'm gonna wait till I get all 3. But I haven't read or heard of invincible until the Amazon show came out but I have all the walking dead comics. Only reason why I didn't hear about invincible was because I didn't start collecting comics/ manga or anything until I was 19 (I'm 21 now) I started my personal collection with FunkoPops then all the Berserk manga (41 volumes, 42 came out this month, July 2023) then I started collecting Raven comic books, (DC Raven) and the new beast boy and Raven graphic novels, then started collecting Something Is Killing The Children (amazing comic btw) then more and last invincible. (Sorry I ranted a bit just gained a new love for comics, I've always liked comics but just never bought them I would deep dive on CZcams watching motion videos on DC comics and Marvel comics different story lines and things, I even read Deadly Class, also amazing comic book, on my phone when I was 16 or 17 but dropped it unfortunately. But when I was 19 I wanted to collect comics and other things I enjoyed like certain comics from DC or Marvel I enjoyed or Manga from anime I liked but the anime stopped and the only way to finish the story was to read the manga. I'm sorry I went on a rant)
I would love to them also because better price for value and tons to read but it seems like actual torture reading a book that thick

I wanted the hardcovers so bad but it’s just way too much money unfortunately so I just went with the compendiums and honestly I’ve never had books that big so I’m kinda scared to see how this will go when reading lol
Hold the spine with your dominant hand (hold it like you'd grab a cup because those spines are huge) that should reduce most spine damage

@@SuperMurray2009 theyre definitely huge and pretty heavy but its alright i guess. its definitely not the best reading experience(for me) but it is what it is if you wanna save the money. ive been reading it flat on a table as well as the comment above mentioned but i dont think it damaged anything

Personally, I’m going to watch a couple of reviews on the overall quality of the 3 compendiums in terms of the binding etc before I decide on either picking up those or the 12 oversized HC’s. 🙂📕📖

Hi Maddogg! Awesome video for beginners, especially someone like me. I wish more people did more video on how to collect certain comics because its hard to know sometimes which ones to collect, and exactly how many there are, and what is included in each different version. Really appreciate it, and would love more of these videos, especially about ones like The Boys & The walking dead! :)

I watched the first season, and I absolutely LOEVD IT. i instantly wanted to pick up the comics. I found your channel today on a completely different video, so i decided your video might be the best to watch. After watching, I want the ultimate collections. Unfortunately, I am super broke, as I am very young. So i am going to go with the compendiums because they are more cost effective, and I am also very careful with spine creases, especially since it is a comic so it reads fast. Thank you for the help!

I have the complete copy of INVINCIBLE Compendium volumes 1 - 3 on my phone in CBR format, it works for me since I just got in to reading comic books.

Yes there’s more to collect making it expensive than the compendium but knowing it has all the content I’ll get the ultimate.

Haven’t yet read any Invincible but I picked up the three compendium volumes since it was quite economical, so looking forward to blasting all three volumes very soon. Just gotta get through several dozen other large books in the queue first.... oh damn, now I’m sad. WOOF *sniff* WOOF

This video idea seemed a little silly to me at first but after watching it I realised that there have been heaps of comics I've brought in one edition just to realise after I could have brought it in in my preferred edition which is omnibus formats. To expand on this a little a bit, I've sometimes as a noob brought a batman Paperback collected edition because it was cheap not realising it is collected in an omnibus that is already out. More videos like this for noobs would be appreciated. Thanks WOOF WOOF.

I totally agree the 12 ultimate collections are the best way to go.
Its DEFINITELY the best superhero comic EVER! So much so I've collected the 3 Library editions with slipcovers, all 3 hardcover compendiums and softcover compendiums, the 12 hardcover ultimate collections...and have every issue of the comic including a 9.0 graded issue #1.
They seriously need to finish the series in the library editions. The books are beautiful and HUGE. Reading the story and seeing Ryan Ottley's art oversized is awesome. Just a shame its never gonna happen 😫
How does the ultimate collection artwork compare with the complete library? I'm stuck deciding whether to purchase the first few library editions, or sticking with the ultimate collection 😩
Hell yea brother I was able to get vol 5 to 12 on black Friday last year great story they just need to come with a 3 omni set that would be epic if they did. 😁
Great video. I bought all 3 compendiums. The hard cover ones looked cool but i couldnt find them all in nz without getting them shipped from usa or uk. Plus i much perfer big thick books tbh lol.
I’m not really trying to finish all of it at once cause I’m still looking forward to season 2 and 3 so imma start getting the hardcovers every other month
I honest prefers collecting the paper back versions,closest to the original issues as well as providing tons of concept art,not to mention cheaper
1:06 Was re-reading Invincible over the last week or so, and I was reminded how annoyed I was with 'Invincible Returns 1', because unless you slot it in between Invincible issues 70 and 71, there is a story gap, as while 'Invincible Returns 1' is sort of a recap issue, a good chunk of it is also new story that bridges the gap between 70 and 71.
I was confused by the jump when reading it digitally on my tablet until I went and checked my TPB's and floppy's and saw both had the issue slotted in between 70 and 71.

Do you know if the Invincible Ultimate are Evergreen? I saw Organic Priced Books has them but a few are sold out. Would hate to start on that format over the compendium, only to not finish collecting the run in time.
Now we've got the Hardcover compendiums as an option too. I'm torn between the HC compendiums and the Ultimate volumes.
Yeah, crazy how times change, but personally, if you have the money I'd still opt for the Ultimate Collections, they're oversized and not as cumbersome, but the compendiums are great value for money. Just depends if you're planning on keeping this in your collection for a while :) Hope you enjoy the series!
So for the TBB's there are 25 total and if they are each around 15 bucks thats about 370 dollars for the whole series. The compendiums cover the whole series in 3 books and are roughly 60 bucks each so 180 dollars total. The ultimate edition comes in 12 volumes and are roughly 40 each so 480. I was just wondering how much it would cost for each experience, thanks for the info!
I was wondering, do the compendiums have both the crossovers with marvel and the astounding wolfman in their entirety or would I have to buy those comics separately?

There’s another CZcamsr called comics explained and they have a 5 hour video that has vol 1 to viltrumite war and it is so good and the video was made from a playlist so you can watch some videos that come after the 5 hour video.

The compendium is the best to save money
It drives me crazy that Image has all of the Ultimate Collections currently in print except for Invincible Ultimate Collection Volume 7
Look at instocktrades. They currently have all 12 for $20-23. I just ordered all of them.

Compendiums dont have any extras just the title page, whatever issues are included, author bios and an ad for the other editions
Are the extras worth all the extra money, I'm looking into the compendiums but if the extras in the ultimate version are worth it I'll look into them.

I just bought all 12 off ebay because most people say its better to start over with the books and not miss details and some big things they left out so i said forget it and bought all.I understand you tho because i was thinking the same thing but then again im a 18 yr old with no bills to pay yet...

I wanted to give up on watching because it is too much gore, I felt ill after watching the first episodes, but the plot is interesting, so I kept watching.
I still fill ill from so much gore but I am even more curious about the story so I had a manic attack and bought all 3 compendiums for $200 in total, I seriously considered pirating though because I can't watch it comfortably, I feel ill from gore and blood
