    Christian Light is my favorite math ever. It is so underrated. I love that you are sharing more about it.

    My kids love the tests, too. I was going to skip them, but after seeing how excited they get when a quiz or test is coming, I decided to keep doing them

    We are loving CLE math for 2 of my 4 kids. My oldest graduated already and my youngest is only 3. I plan to use CLE reading program if that doesn’t work we may try all about reading.

    Hi there! It’s nice to see you using Christian Light! I used that when I was a kid I might have to look that up. My high schooler did not like teaching textbooks either I was surprised.

    We use CLE math from first grade through middle school. It's fantastic.

    Love christian light math too for my middle son who is great at math he's in 5th. I also love the quiz and test so easy to show for evaluations.

    I’m using the kindergarten level math (it’s inside the K1 and K2) and the level 2. We love it!

    That is fantastic to hear, I need one of my kids to catch up as well since public school. Thank you for sharing that information.

    Thank you for sharing!! We are entering our 9th year homeschooling and I am not a math person either 😂 this looks like a good curriculum. I think I may have used it for my older girls, it looks very familiar

    Thank you for sharing. I’ve been looking into this curriculum for my son who is going into the fourth grade. He’s been in public school his whole life so I’m not sure if I should go with level 3 if it’s advanced. He’s pretty good at math and was frustrated at school saying they were going too slow but when I did the assessment some things he didn’t do much of in school that was in level 3.

    Could you do a comparison of pros and cons with learning to read and all about reading?

    • @PenniesAndSalt
      @PenniesAndSalt  Před 11 měsíci

      They are very different. CLE is very traditional and All About Reading is multisensory.

    Thanks for this! I have definitely decided on this for most of my kids. How do you think your daughter will do from going to a colorful math to more black and white? My kindergartener is using the good and the beautiful. I was trying to choose between apologia and this for him. One of my sons is using apologia and poor kid, it's the 3rd 4th grade math hrs done in 2 years, it works really great for him! Anyway I'd like your opinion on the first grade math. Also my son (7 grade) is using saxon, 6/7. I'm not sure what he will test in for christian light. I'm not the biggest fan of math u see, it was confusing for me. I'm also not math minded. Do you think he'd still be OK with christian light? Thanks! I'm new to this curriculum and actually probably switching most of my curriculum.

    Do you have them go back and correct any questions they got wrong? Do you have them do the whole lessson or circle the odds or evens? Thanks in advanced 🤗

    Thanks for this review! Is there a reason you switch from spiral method with CLE to mastery with MUS at the older levels? Did your older kids mind the switch?

    • @PenniesAndSalt
      @PenniesAndSalt  Před 11 měsíci

      My oldest is switching to MathUSee prealgebra this school year. CLE is a good mix of the two methods. It’s spiral but it definitely has a mastery feel in some aspects. I switched because MathUSee has a video component and it is being taught at our co-op. They use MathUSee for all the upper level math courses.

    We have been using the good and the beautiful for math. Do you think it would be easy to switch to Christian Light at 3rd grade, or would it be way more advanced? Thanks 😊

    • @PenniesAndSalt
      @PenniesAndSalt  Před 11 měsíci

      There is a placement test on their website, I would recommend doing that to determine.

    This will be our first year using CLE. I’ll have two in level 1 and one in level 5. What’s the highest math level in this you use ?

    • @PenniesAndSalt
      @PenniesAndSalt  Před 11 měsíci

      The highest that I have used is 6. It goes all the way up though.

  • @laurenrasmussen7997

    Could you use this starting in kindergarten or do you think it moves too fast? She'll be six in December.

    • @PenniesAndSalt
      @PenniesAndSalt  Před 11 měsíci

      I suppose you could depending on prior knowledge and if you slowed it down some.

    • @brianalynn1800
      @brianalynn1800 Před 11 měsíci

      What I have done is use the first 5 math light units for kindergarten and the rest for first grade and then add in some supplemental books with first grade to really concrete every thing they learned.

  • @lindsaypotter9776
    @lindsaypotter9776 Před 13 dny

    Why don't you use this for higher grades if they are able to do it independently?

    • @PenniesAndSalt
      @PenniesAndSalt  Před 13 dny

      Because I prefer a video component for upper grades since the math becomes more complex and Math is not my strong area.
