I listened to it once, and I already want to play it over and over again. 😊
Benny is a breath of fresh air. It’s what the competition needs.
I love it, it has a summery air and is very well produced! Benny is a great artist and I hope to see him in the final!!! Omagaaaaa🎶🎶🎶🇨🇿🇨🇿🇨🇿
¡Loveee from Spain 🇪🇸 Benny!
The leaked version didn't hit me at first but after seeing the fun music video and Benny's charisma, I was properly won over. It's a grower and it's just fun. Apart from finding the lyrics cringey, I can't imagine anyone particularly hating this entry
It doesn't matter how good a certain entry is, there will always be a group of people who will hate a certain song.
This reaction is the funniest thing I've watched the past year! Your conflicted feelings over lyrics vs banger, chaotic chorus vs dance-along, song title vs energy! Oh man what a rollercoaster, I had so much fun. "oh my god, why don't you let me.. let me? have it? What? Don't let me hanging!"
Btw, the song sells big time.
Top 7 this yr for 🇨🇿,!!! so good song and Benny ll kill it, im sure
Hey Matt, thanks for the reaction from cz :)
With Benny, it's always going to be about positive energy vibe and not exactly nobel prize worthy lyrics :-) As far as the title goes, Benny had explained on a livestream that he originally thought about naming the song just "omg" as you suggest, but then he found out there's plenty of songs already having that name including some very recent ones... Hence Omaga :)
Watch out for all the film cultural references when you see the music video next time :)
Well said!
definitely a huge improvement from Kemama, such a good song. I hope he at least qualifies to the final.
Non competitive entry but better than last year’s. You are right it should be much better live.
This is my top 1 in this moment
Omaga i laughed when matt said my favorite line was the one in czech because i didn't knew he was singing 😂
I didn't like Kemama last year at all, but I actually like this one quite a bit. I much prefer this to Kemama, this has potential to qualify for definite. Plus, having a little bit of Czech isn't a bad thing
Guilty Pleasure
I agree so much with you about the annoying revamps, Matt! I also like your point about lyrics - it's a good thing that the international artists can't just sing "anything" in English and get away with it.
Thank you!!!!!
The revamps - he said in interview that the negative reactions really got him, so they decided to create another version for the contest, that would have different vibe.
@@alzbetal1499 The problem was - and is - that his songs have no hooks. A revamp doesn't change that.
LOVE THE BEAT. I Love the Vibe.
The only critiques is that the chorus is EXTREMELY busy.
I also Think the lyrics are cringy
He is a very good performer - I honestly hated Kemama, but when he had a live performance in Ukraine during Vidbir (as always the Czech representants do), I was actually very impressed. I'm not a big fan of this song either, but I am sure his live perofmance will be amazing!
I remember that almost everyone didn't like Lake Malawi when they won their national final. But they also performed in Vidbir and changed many people's opinions about their song (and they finished 2nd in their semifinal, even though, there were rumors they won't even qualify).
Isn't there a rule in Eurovision that says it's not allowed to say religious words in your entry? Maybe that's why it's omaga instead of oh my god
If so, that must be recent because Israel has sent a couple of "religious" songs before (1995 comes first to mind).
@@kennet7837 oh and Hallelujah from 1979... But I thought I heard that somewhere
There is no rule against that, the word god has been mentioned in many, many songs. My favorite "Only Mr. God knows why" (Latvia 2010)
I'm as conflicted as you. On the one hand, it has great elements and I know it will be delivered greatly on stage but on the other, I also feel the lyrics are underwhelming and there's something missing that I can't really tell what it is. "Kemama" sounded more genuine and more connected to Benny, I think? It sounded more personal and more based on his personal background and personality. I feel "Omaga" could be sung by any other male singer and it would exactly the same effect. Maybe it was the theme of the song, "Kemama" was more about self-affirming stuff and this is one is the more typical love pop song, which makes it feel more generic.
It's still a great, modern song and I have no doubts it will be great live.
Could do well with the public, but the jury is going to put this bottom third.
Unfortunately :(
I don't think so.
I don't agree. It's contemporary, and juries love modern stuff too.
I felt like he wasnt really singing, it feels more like a radio track
The busy and chaotic sound sounds like a reference to Kemama in my opinion
First?
"Kemama" had some interesting elements but they didn't develop them enough, and then it got all messy in the revamp. "Omega" (OH-meg-uh) is the last letter of the Greek alphabet, best known for the saying "From the Alpha to Omega". I'm not sure what "Omaga" means. I'm still working on getting through all the elements in the song to find something grab me straight away that would make me say "Oh, hey, that's cool, let me listen to that!" Too much to choose from!
Omaga is shortened for O My God
@@tiemenjonkman824 No, it's like a slurred version of "Oh my God"...instead it just looks like Omega, which is the last letter of the Greek alphabet and would have been a cool song title. Also, the song title is all in lowercase, so it's just "omaga". If they do decide to revamp this, I'd try to make parts of it simpler, and then have more stuff come in later on in the song cos with everything being thrown at you at once, it's hard to find something to grab onto! This has potential so I hope people like it, and I hope I'm able to like it, too! (once I buy the single or listen to it on CZcams enough)
@@riinak7212 yes we know what omega is he’s saying oh my god
@@Kian-ww2hi I was replying to someone else who tried to "explain" it to me. I was telling him I understood. It's ok. Everything has been cleared up now. And it's "omaga", not "omega", which is where the confusion came from in the first place.
Meh... Just OK in my opinion. I do agree he is a great live performer so i hope that makes me like it more. Totally agree he shouldn't rewamp it. If you put out internal selection then there better not be rewamps :D.
I don't like the lyrics, but the melody is catchy.
Lacks almost everything for a song sent to the contest, it's muscial fast food, a tasteless cheap cheeseburger.
I couldn't disagree more. Who the hell said what kind of song has to be sent to the contest? Who are you to say what should and shouldn't be sent? Plenty of songs in the contest are fun and upbeat! Just because something isn't a ballad with meaningful lyrics like Voila doesn't mean it's not good! This song is good fun, and THAT is a big part of what Eurovision is about! Plus, what exactly makes it 'tasteless' or 'cheap'? Is it simply because it's hip hop? You can't disregard a whole genre as being tasteless like that. Personally I can tell that Benny had a lot of personal involvement in the creation of the song. Unlike a lot of entries, where the song is written and then a singer is picked to perform it, but they have no artistic input. Benny clearly was involved and it shows from his cheeky personality and the charismatic way he performs. This song is more genuine than most.
@@Marzi29 That's absurd. Who the hell are you to tell me what to like or dislike. You take the liberty to "disagree", leave me my right to disagree as well.
@@Marzi29 Where is it tasteless? I'm gonna help you pal. Look at the lyrics for instance. A 15 year old would have written something more meaningful in 10 minutes. You can have simple lyrics, but this is ridiculous. The melody is chaotic. This looks like a joke entry. Disrespectful to the contest and other artists that are not amateurs.
I don’t like the song... it takes to long to get my attention but then is to late ... sorry :(
Sorry but much worse than Kemama
It’s a big fat nothing from me. 😶
Sorry, it sounds boring to me. It's not bad but nothing special. Perhaps live it will be better.
