    This is very interesting business. How long to break even and is it high risk birds die from disease or abandon building?

    • @quanthachjourney
      @quanthachjourney  Před 2 lety +2

      Its difficult to gauge how long to break even considering several factors: market conditions, prices can range from $700-2000 per kg. Providing the right conditions the amount of birds attracted can increase exponentially at a rapid rate which can X amount your returns quickly. Overall I believe you can break even fairly quick, but this type of business to me is more of a passive long term income model opposed to putting money in savings account. As for risk, the birds are actually free roaming and I’ve never heard any diseases or issues in that regards, if you don’t disturb them and provide proper condition they would not abandon the building. To be clear, I am no expert in this field. I am just passing on information I’ve learned from those that operate these businesses.

    That comes out to about $300 per pound. Why is this unusual birds nest so valuable? That has to be some of the very most expensive food ingredient. I don't really understand why it's valuable or see that it would be delicious. Does it make people feel really good?

    • @quanthachjourney
      @quanthachjourney  Před rokem

      I don't know if there's any scientific studies behind it, but from my understanding there's a lot of health benefits similar to herbal medicine. Don't quote me tho, as I mentioned I haven't found any solid evidence. It's a delicacy for chinese drinks and soups
