They put a lot of work in that nest, there are 10 nest on my front and back porch and they just build their nests halfway up and then lay their eggs and tend to their babies once they've hatched. It's kind of interesting watching them each day as the parents take care of them and watch them grow.
We have barn swallows building up from the moulding above our front door, and we wondered why they’d choose such a busy spot and a place with hardly any ledge. I see now that they make their own ledges! Amazing that it looks like an igloo.

We get them each spring but my neighbor doesn't like birds so she keeps trying to get rid of them. It makes me mad but to be honest they are very aggressive birds and every time we try to walk into our homes they fly right by our heads like they're going to attack us
