A “thin and light” body design with a low hood and front fenders, and a low horizontal beltline grounds the body, accentuates the wheels and tires, and enables an expansive, airy greenhouse. Inside, the M/M approach results in a strikingly simple, clean and modern take on classic Civic values. By evoking the uncluttered cabin design of early generations of Civic, the new model’s interior features exceptional visibility, intuitive ergonomics, extraordinary passenger volume and driver-focused technology.
LED lighting is used extensively for the exterior, including the wide-set headlights, daytime running lights, parking lights, and available fog lights.
The Civic Sedan will be available in eight exterior colors, three of which are new: Meteorite Gray Metallic, Sonic Gray Pearl and all-new Civic-exclusive Morning Mist Blue Metallic.
Human-Centered Interior Design
Honda’s outstanding interior packaging results in ample head, leg, shoulder and hip room for all passengers. A feeling of spaciousness is immediately felt and shared by all Civic occupants, thanks to the low, flat beltline and uncluttered design throughout its cabin.
The pulled-back A-pillars, low hood, flat dashboard and hidden windshield wipers enable a windshield with clearly defined corners for a panoramic view. The low cowl is the same height as the door sills for an uninterrupted and harmonious flow that extends from the dash all the way to the rear doors. The outside mirrors also have been positioned away from the windshield pillars to improve visibility.
Further improving visibility is the top of the Civic’s instrument panel, which has been designed with minimum cutlines to reduce windshield reflections and visual distractions.
A striking metal honeycomb mesh accent stretches from door to door across the dash. It serves both form and function, creating a dramatic visual dividing line between the audio, information displays and the climate controls, while the intricate flow-through design conceals the air vents that would otherwise mar the uncluttered and harmonious look of the dash.
High-quality materials are used throughout the interior, especially on touchpoints, with close attention paid to the operation of all switchgear and controls. Materials were also chosen with an eye toward practicality, such as the new premium center console trim specifically designed to hide fingerprints and smudges to help maintain a high-end appearance.
All Civic trims benefit from a new front seat design. Using Honda’s Body Stabilizing Seat approach, the new-generation seat frame firmly holds the body, enhancing comfort on long drives.
Civic Touring also debuts an all-new 9-inch color touchscreen, which builds upon the foundation laid by the Display Audio system in Honda models such as Accord, Odyssey, Pilot and Passport. The new touchscreen is the largest ever in any Honda-brand vehicle, and features a physical volume knob, large, easy-to-recognize icons, and a simplified navigation structure with fewer embedded menus. On the left are hard buttons for Home and Back functions.

I have no idea why more people don’t do night reviews. Brilliant.
That camera ur using is phenomenal, low light capability is crazy good.. overall awesome review
Even in the dark, the new Civic looks good.
It does look good, this design makes the civic look grown up and mature lol.
well said
I have the 22 civic sedan sport
Thank you Mike for going to such lengths to capture this lighting in such a clear fashion and in detail. For someone who drives a lot in the night, I actually appreciate the absence of too much interior lighting. Seems like Honda hit this outta the park with this model year Civic on all fronts. So minimal things to complain.
Agreed, you want low subbtle lights when driving at night
You're the only reviewer that actually focus on the lights like the way I like it. You have yourself a new subscriber. Great video btw!
Some people were bad mouthing this car, but I think Honda did a great job!
LIAR🤣😂🤣😂😆!!!
Amen today this is a nice car without all weird angles and heavy use of plastic
It's looks better than the 10th gen
It just think it could have a little bit more flair on the outside but it's still a solid car for sure
I don’t mind having incandescent bulbs in the rear since it’s upgradable, but I wish there was some sort of ambient lighting in the cabin.
The new civic looks incredible, can't wait for the new Type R
I have been watching him since 2015, what a legend! Big up to this man💪🏽💪🏽, Road to 200k!!!🔥🔥🔥
Thank you!
Can you do a Jeep wagoneer review please
Love this sort of reviews. Detailed and mentioned everyday usability features 👌
Great idea showing vehicle with night features 👍
it might not be the "civicest" civic in the history of civics but you got to admit that it looks good it looks like a premium compact sedan specially in that color.
Thats the civic I've been waiting for. Next one for sure😍
That’s what it’s for. The people who thought the 10th gen styling was too much. The 10th gen community stays happy, and they get the haters money now. Keep in mind, they sold an insane amount of 10th gens. Expect the 12th to go crazy again.
Eu quero este carro no Brasil !!!Maravilhoso
It has LED headlights, front turn signals, and brake lights, but the rear turn signals are incandescent. I don't get why some manufacturers do that.
Cost cutting I guess
It's definitely a stupid holdout now that it's 2022 and even a basic Toyota Corolla Hatchback has full LED exterior lights, including the amber rear turn signals. Maybe they're waiting for red turn signals to be the norm in competitors or something which is stupid because turn signals should always be amber like the rest of the world. But also they seem to like using outdated blinker systems that rely on the power draw of the halogen bulbs so they don't hyperflash. Still stupid though because they shouldn't even be using blinker modules that only work with halogen bulbs.
love this car can't wait to get mines !!!!!!!!!
Def getting the new civic. Gunna wait for the hatchback 😁
i have a 2009 and thinking about leasing a new honda. 2022 civic touring looks perfect for daily. Especially all black with dark tints.. Fire!
Thank you so much for creating an at night video! 🙌🏼
im new here n i didnt know there's a channel where we can watch how every new cars lights in the night. really helping us. thanks!! im from malaysia btw
honda is on another level!!
Just bought one of these, same edition in black. Praying it comes before Christmas. Can.Not.Wait
Keep the videos coming! I got a sneak peak of them yesterday at a dealer but they didn’t give me enough time.
Thank u for an honest review. Most would not do that. Thus my utmost respect for being upfront 🙏
Nice how they added more LEDs for the brake lights and DRLs but I still don't understand why Honda didn't make the rear amber flasher LED as well. It wouldn't add much to the cost anymore like it would have years ago. Even the Toyota Corolla hatchback in the most basic trim has all LED exterior lights including the amber rear turn signals
yeah, I never understand why they simply can't have all Leds when nowadays every single thing mostly uses leds. It won't add much to the cost either.
@@izzuddinrasid3458 Agreed. It is honestly baffling that incandescent/halogen bulbs are even still a thing in any 2021 model car as it is an outdated, inefficient source of light that most of the rest of the world has moved on from. Don't understand the holdout. And the worst part about it is that because of DOT regulations and the way the lights are made to reflect omnidirectional output, you can't just easily update the lights like you can in your home. I thought when i saw the first LED brake lights in the mid-2000s that LED would completely take over any and all outdated incandescent bulbs yet here we are in 2021 still waiting even for expensive-ass cars to finally switch their outdated rear turn signals to LED
The second video I've seen of yours and again, the level of detail is amazing, you had me laughing when you started to talk about the inefficiency of lighting, which is genius on the touring model. I love Honda, but I despise when people only give credit to the higher trims whereas you discredited with class. A++++!! lIFETIME SUBSCRIBER HERE thanks to you Mike!
best reviews I've seen on youtube. thx
It all started like this. I had long stressful week full of twists and turns with the family so I flew to our summer house in the middle of the red sea of the cost of East African continent bordering the Indian ocean. Paradise islands or the islands of mindfulness as the locals ancient tribes call it. There I retreated into my backyard full of colorful birds amongst the orchards trees perched above this beautiful blue turquoise expanse of water that goes as far as the horizon underneath of a clear blue sky. I retired to my long chaise with my tablets in my hands listening the sound of the gentle waves lightly carressing the retainer wall. A gentle a sweet and salty breeze is casually blowing whispering into my ears like a lovers do there I stumble with your video, wow the asmr sound and the tone of your voice mixed with the ambient night light of the car and the outside parking lights intruding inside of the cabin makes this video soothing and relaxing to watch. Nice video I would recommend anyone to watch and listen this video.
I absolutely love this new generation
The last generation looked to over done this is toned down
Agree. When I saw this gen, I thought "what a handsome little car"
Can you do something to the infotainment system? I heard it's smooth. This one of the key factor when I'm buying a car
Hope they sell floor well lights as an accessory and only turns on when the headlights are on.
I hope there is a led package as an option for the inside 😏
they dont... :(
@@wellan007 Just change the Lights to LED 💡
@@mrluis9456 if the interior lights are factory halogen bulbs and not factory LED already, we at Fyre Flys LEDs will make a kit. We know the trunk light is halogen but not sure about the maps & dome lights in the cabin.
I'll buy one of this new generation hatchback Sport when it comes to Europe!! Just love Honda💖💖
Your just earned a subs bro
Those headlight design look like human eyes 👀 when lit.
Great video!! 👏
It’s so good that America has already gotten the new civic.. Still waiting for them to come into south east asia next year ! 😭
Yeahh, this kinda design is interesting
Solid content had to subscribe
When you get a time you should review the 2022 hatchback touring model. I would like to see that! Thanks for a great detailed review!
This looks incredible
Amazing review!
My Ford 2014 has integrated ambient light on the cups and feet areas and also the backseat. Honda should do the same.
I can't wait for the 2023 accord redesign
Great demo. I love my 22 Honda Civic sport. My black Civic is so pretty
I love it I have a red personalze tag red leopard steering wheel cover.
Very nice night review
Please do a sound system test so we can hear the Bose.
👏🏾
Nice lighting 👍
Just bought one, I pick it up Monday, Northeast Ohio only got 4. I bought the first one, not that it matters, but it's kinda cool that I have the first one in my area on the road.
and now you get to be the first model year redesign real world tester and experience all the first model year quirks and issues. sometimes its not good to be first
Good video man!
Hi mike it looks really nice 👌. Thank you 😊
I just wish they would of added a heating steering wheel and cooled seats, or at least the first option for the touring!
thank you for the review! looks better than the 10th gen. the only thing i don't like is the "eyeball" in the headlights... just imagine a gundam having an eyeball... kills the look
My 2013 Dodge Avenger had illuminated cup holders. I wish Honda can do the same
Wish it came with some ambient lighting at least on the vent section
Even the touring model doesn’t have it 😐
I like it but it’s kinda weird how it has that gap in the low beam headlights.
maybe to imitate the appearance of an "eye"
Kind of like a pupil
...yeah, looks like you have bad bulbs all the time
New civic is gorgeous....
Very informative video - I'll stick to my X gen civic for a while ;) I was hoping hor some more advanced high beam lighting
What about leg room and upper head room. I'm a tall guy. And the 2016 civic felt so small inside . Is there any difference to the late model vs 2022?
I don't know if Honda watched your video and made some adjustments, but the interior lights in my 2022 Touring are incredibly bright 😂
12:14 that's because they've dropped the standards of light and now allow super bright leds to blind all drivers to increase accidents! great for your visibility though!
I'm so glad Honda-Acura has never gone with the trend of shutting off a DRL when the turn signals are on. The light bar designs of the last 5-6 years have been so gorgeous and distinctive on the road. When you see a car with it's blinker on and the DRL turned off it looks like something is wrong. Also love that after EVERY car brand copied Honda's LED headlight design since the 2016 Accord and Civic Tourings started with them, they managed to change it up and make them unique again while keeping the same gorgeous diamond facet look.
It was before the 2016 honda civoc
@@sergiocarrasco okay, which models and years specifically?

Hello Sir Next Honda Accord Turbo 2.0L Full Review
Cam you film at 60fps? Your camera is great in low light
There is a lot of noise inside. How is the insulation. And is there an automatic high beam?
The lights look awesome on this vehicle. Wonder why they couldn't make all turning lights LEDs. But, the tail lights are very attractive.
Disappointed in the small amount of illumination on the inside .. 😩 I still want to upgrade from my ‘07 accord though.
show amigo...obrigado!
Nooooo!! Why would Honda get rid of the turn signal Camera! I have the 2019 and I'm so used to how helpful it is now😡
Oh yes and great video btw👍
@@MandyRules They do!? Yes!!
More and more night drive videos please.
looking nice at night as well :)
I bought one today love it. Acceleration is good and it’s fast. Perfect car honestly.
How is it a year later?
Do you think that cargo light in the trunk would be easy to upgrade to something brighter?
Really appreciate this at night review I wonder if the sport also has those led turn signals on the side mirrors?
It does not on the Sport.
I hope the hatch is just as sweet, might trade in my GTI for one

Ambient Lighting Above Gearshift
Is this like the 2020 Honda Civic? It had a faint blue light with some slight illumination.
Looks nice. Can’t wait to see the Si and Type R. What wheel and tire size. I definitely wish Honda made led headlights for the 17 & 18 Si ..
Great
Can we adopt those interior lights, especially the one in front of the shift lever, the one inside the glove compartment and the ones next to map lights to my medium version civic. it has holes for lighting on the involving places but I don't know if they have required original wirings or sockets inside for a solid installation.
2022?? Sad Honda.... Why no ambient light??
I’m so buying this car in the si trim
Still in love with my 16' custom led projector headlights and full led taillights. They should've done the same with the 22s instead of reflectors, makes it look cheap
The front of honda civic2022 is resemble to honda accord 1984 and 1986 model .
Very detailed videos, spot on. You could try to put a high F so you could increase the depth of field? Maybe it is easy to stay focus in the car and outside, like in 11:00 where you only have outside on focus, not the car. If your video camera allows it on manual mode, you could record even more amazing videos. And those are night are really hard to make it right.
A high F-stop doesn't do very well in low light.
@@MikesCarInfo yes, true, but would be nice to find a good setting to have a high focus range, so it would be possible to see the car and the road. A bigger F, makes less light comes in. But hey, don't let this stop you from pointing out those fine details in cars that nobody talks about.
That’s what we should have had long time ago led lights especially night driving I still have halogen
Are the main interior map lights and dome light LED?
I was like mr meseeks “ooooo weeee.”
I wonder if led drl are bulbs or like 9.5 gen accord replace whole assembly to fix it
When do you think we'll see the new accord?
Is is true that the sport isn’t even turbo’d
i think that is correct at least for the sedan. sport has 2.0 non turbo. i dont know about the hatchback yet. the hatchback may be different.
@@philliprumans753 I think all hatchback trims will have turbo standard. Just like previous gen.
I wear dad shorts and new balances and i think this looks good. Im gonna trade in my clapped out camry for it.
When will you do a 2022 type r review
What camera do you use for filming?
Was kinda hoping you would look at the interior lights when there were no dealership lights around
I really like new Civic but wish they would offer 8 speed automatic in regular Civic or at least in Si. CVT is fine but after driving Mazda with 6 speed auto and VW GTI and regular Golf with 6 speed DSG and 8 speed auto , they are just better transmission option, no matter how much new CVTs are improved compared to older ones.
What camera did you use in this video?
Does it have ambient lighting??
สวย
Those chunky rear tail lights kill the design for me. Wish they were all the sleeker and safer LEDS.
the rear end looks like a JETTA LOL!
BMW are the best they all come with safer led lights
White with tinted windows would look nice
Having full LED taillights and turn signals would have completed the look
