    I like your enthusiasm. You are not overwhelming or undermining the 2022 Civic Touring. Sure the 1.5L Turbo (L15B7 -Vtec) with CVT is not the greatest but a tad better than it was in the 10th Gen Civic. The body style is a bit more grown-up closer to the Accord or Toyota Camry. The interior design/layout has very much improved. Some will like it while others may go for a higher-tiered model or the little bit better 2022 Mazda3 2.5 S Preferred. Thanks for the closeups on the Window Stickers ... helpful they are. Note: the acceleration speed is slower because the 2022 Civic weighs more than the 2021 Civic even with the slight HP boost the 2022 Civic is slower than the 10th Gens. For those who live in snowy regions, the 2022 Civic's body is lower by a half inch, meaning a higher potential to get stuck in snow also underside scrapping of the front bumper when you hit a pothole. I just don't like the undercarriage to road surface clearance, just too low. The Goodyear Eagle Sport All-Season is terrible in the snow, highly recommend getting Winter/Snow tires. It is a great commuter car and has a wonderful new interior, otherwise, Honda could have done better. Another issue: Action Class Lawsuit against Honda's 1.5L Turbo "Earth Dreams" engine for Oil Dilution affects 2019 to 2021 models and perhaps 2022. Best to get the Honda Care warranty, for precautionary measures. More frequent Oil Changes maybe at 6K miles rather than 9K miles, have the Oil analyzed for Dilution, new Spark Plugs after each 20K to 25K miles, sorry that Fuel Injector Cleaning Additives won't work nor will Oil Additives, do not use higher rated Octane gasoline than recommended. Avoid long engine idle times. If you live in a cold climate environment, park your car inside the garage.

  • @TheAnnoyingBoss
    @TheAnnoyingBoss Před 3 lety +1

    If I got this I'd have to get the 2.0L naturally aspirated 4 cylinder as it would he a vehicle that would be used by a wide variety of folk both friends and family so I wouldn't be able to have any of the fun manual options. I would do it as an affordable buy. The 4 cylinder leaves less parts total to break, easier and cheaper to maintain and repair. Not much power but that's not why I'd buy it. I have a 2000 Toyota 2.2L and it's got 140k and the engine still seems new. Even when it's overdue for it's early oil change the oil is still closer to clean than it is dirty which is saying something about Toyota reliability 21 years ago. So the 2.0L naturally aspirated seems like a great long term reliability option for me as compared to having any turbos or hybrid systems that complicate the system. I really enjoy the idea of getting great fuel economy, not having to rely on electric charging stations, and also having fewer parts to maintain. By long term, I mean 10-15 years and beyond. If I buy something like this so the 17 year old in the future when it's worth 5k will thank me when they're driving to highschool for having a car some moron didn't beat the shit out of. I'd want mine to be something someone would have to make me an offer I can't refuse before I'd sell. Just like my 2000 Toyota today. My 2000 Toyota has zero broken switches, everything works. I hope that's how these new Toyotas are in 20 years from now.

      You are correct, as of Sept. 2022 the MSRP is now $30,245, and the destination & handling fee is $1,095. Don't forget that Dealers can tack on a Markup to the MSRP in the range of $1 to $1,000. Many 2023 models are not yet out so Dealers can do as they pleased.

    Great first look. Thanks. I can appreciate what Honda did here but I like the looks of the 10th gen more. I know this is not the Type R but to me, the Civic is the younger, scrappier sibling to the Accord, not just a smaller Accord. This Civic has lost that edge to me. I am pretty sure it will sell though but it is not for me. I have a 2019 Honda Civic Type R (volume knob, leather steering wheel, and no piped-in engine sound) and that car is a permanent addition to my collection. Incidentally, I just did a quick search and found a used 2019 Honda Civic Type R, with more miles than mine, in the same color, being sold at a Honda dealer for over $47,000! Seeing how I got mine at MSRP, this is one of the few cars I have ever owned that has actually appreciated in value since driving it off the salesroom floor. That has been the highest example I have seen but even the Kelly Blue Book for the FK8 is over $41,000 right now. Again I am looking forward to the new Type R based on this new platform but there is no way I am getting rid of my FK8. I am just going to drive it, enjoy it, keep it clean and well maintained and that is it.

You seemed very underwhelmed with the performance but we all know what you really drive- LOL. Nevertheless asking a 1.5 engine to move 3100lbs plus passengers is no short order. IMO no car in this day and age should have less than 200hp stock . Not sure the pedestrian model is really targeted for speed racer types ( they have the Si/Type R for that audience). Either way def some nice touches and quality bits for the money. 24k for the Sport is a steal. Nice work Cam.

    Type R it is then for performance lol. Great review though buddy

    The car looks great I think despite the negative comments about the conservative design from some reviewers, Honda definitely did a good job however the price is too much for a Civic for just a little more you can get the Sonata Limited which has way more features and is a lot more car for the money, or if you want to save money get the Elantra limited for a lot less similarly loaded.

    Thanks so much for making this video!! I’ve been having major back issues and I may have to get rid of my Type R because of them. My doctor says the clutch isn’t helping any. There aren’t any cars I’m interested in but this video has me looking at the 11th gen Civic more closely now. I just may have to go and test drive one!!

    It seems like a lot of manufacturers are leaning more towards luxury than performance. I bought an Si at a Mazda dealership last week and I was floored by how nice the dealership and cars are. Felt like I was walking into a Mercedes dealership

    Good review man always enjoy your vieos. It seams like all the car companies r taking a little from each others designs but from the 8th gen civic all share a similar familiarity to me.
    The paint looks great for the 11th the red really pops and I love tht iridescent kind of pearl white looks real clean

    Tried to price this exact car recently. The dealer would not give me a price quote just told me it was MSRP plus DEALER ADDED ACCESSORIES. When I asked what the accessories are and how much they added to the cost they wouldn't tell me and said I had to come to the dealership. I said no thanks.

    Imma be honest. I still like the fun energetic look of the last gen. HOWEVER I'm very excited to see where aftermarket goes with this new body style and ofc the tech that will very soon be in the Si and type R, might just outweigh the looks imo.

    The 11th gen is released here in the UK in October as a hybrid only, disappointing as I have the 10th gen 1.0 litre turbo, 52mpg and 129 bhp. The 1.5 litre is 42 mpg and 180 bhp. The new 11th has a 2 litre hybrid.

    Sure the tech is up to date because it's an 11gen that's a must, but the exterior of the car will be mistaken for an accord over and over. One could say it's the off-brand of the Accord.

  • @mvrk7773

    the reason it doesn’t feel fast is because the driving quality is so smooth that it don’t even feel like you’re going 60-70 MPH

    I'm glad you did this review video and I also really like the Civic Si longterm ownership review. I am going to be in the market for a Civic soon and I have been trying to decide whether to splurge on a Si and you have really helped me see that an Si is exactly what I am looking for. May have to go with a used model but at least now I know what I am getting and what to look for.
