    Just ordered this exact trim and color yesterday. Im so excited! Only a few more months left with the 2018 sport touring hatch! I agree, this car will age well! Silver color is a classic look, not too busy! Gas prices make this car a smart choice, unless you can afford an EV! I hope I can drive this car up to Tobermory in late summer and blast my tunes on that new Bose system!! Honda Service is the best, 2nd to none!

    • @richscott2483
      @richscott2483 Před rokem

      The Bose sound system is weak in the Civic Touring due to the small speaker wattage output. The frequency range of these speakers is likely from 80Hz to 15KHz (normal hearing 20Hz to 20KHz) therefore, missing a lot of lows and high tones. You are buying into the Brand name of BOSE, but getting the cheap stuff. If you want better quality, go to a real sound installation shop, do not go to Best Buy as overpriced and reduced quality stuff and often Best Buy employees will damage your vehicle while installing.

    Great video, Matt. You absolutely get what this new Civic Touring Sedan, as well as the Sport for their price point and intended targeted consumer demographic. They are overall premium mass market, proven, reliable and enjoyable quality cars.
    So many people bellyache about sport edition cars should have more power, turbos, etc., many many are clueless about marketing, production costs, and profit to keep these companies doing well to have the ability to exercise creativity and stay in business, and continue to create competitive vehicles that appeal to a broad scope of drivers.
    You have the true performance versions in the Si and Type R for this particular vehicle.
    Some say there's features this car lacks, but tgey are trying to keep the costs the dame as the previous versions, yet have all the improvements. It costs a lot less to produce vehicles with set equipment for each respective trim level and offer things that can be added later as dealer installed OEM accessories.
    The number one diwnside of this Civic to me is having to deactivate the auto start/stop function each time you start up your engine, but at keast you can deactivate it. I heard it turns off in Sport Mode, and might be fine for me if you don't have to also select Sport mode and each start up.
    I really like the Bose Stereo, wireless charging/Apple Carplay/Android Auto, USB a/C ports, fancy digital instrument panel and such, but I woukd be happy with the more affordable Sport, because I prefer the N/A 2.0L engine, albeit with 20 less horsepower. I liked tge previous Sport Sedan, but I like this a whoke lot better, or the Touring Sedan or Sport Touring Hatchback if I could get those. Or the Si if the pit the Accord 2.0L turbo engine in that.

    I drove a 2006 Civic for seven years and 230k miles. It was EPA'd at 30 city and 38 highway. I never had a tank that was less than 30 mpg, my calculations, which was great, but the car also never, for all intents and purposes, made 38 on the highway. It may have a couple of times but in 230k miles of driving of which 60 to 70% was highway miles, it was only a couple of times. Most of the time, it only returned 36 to 37 on the highway which still wasn't bad. I'd be interested in seeing what this one would really do on a highway trip.

    I really appreciate Hyundai and Kia’s accomplishments over the last few years, but it’s important to note that their 10 year/100k mile powertrain warranty is not transferable. So people buying them used do not get the balance of that warranty; they get the balance of a 5 year/60k mile warranty, just like the competition.

    • @richscott2483
      @richscott2483 Před rokem

      Mazda 3 is not bad, it lags slightly behind on safety features and reliability compared to Civic and Corolla but makes up in other areas. Civic is one of those cars that most times is #1 and at times could be #2. All a matter of preference or one's experience leading to an opinion. Was searching as to when the 2023 Toyota Corolla XLE be arriving/released but has not at this time in mid-Sept. 2022 other than a bunch of Hybrids. Finding a new car is nearly impossible, a local Honda dealer had a 2022 Civic Touring still in the assembly stage at Honda's factory and no VIN.
      So, my wife and I decided to buy it ( 2022 Civic Touring) with a Black exterior, we dislike White and Black for several reasons, wished they had Blue, Red, Silver, Dark Green but not available so either get Black or wait many months to get a color we liked. Well, when driving you really don't care about the color anymore until you step out of the car.

    My thoughts.....I would prefer some chrome on the grille. Fastline (commented in this thread) thought previous version a little more sporty and there is something a bit generic about the front; but the side and back look nice. The wide stance with the longer wheel base looks nice. I wouldn't call it a baby accord, maybe adolescent or youth version of the accord. 10:15 , 11:01, 16:00 look at the beautiful hills and lush greenery of Pittsburgh....I'll never get tired of those views. Worth watching the videos for the scenery, and Matt and the cars is great also. I've owned Hondas (2), and they are great cars. Turn signal sounds would be an interesting video.....I am not a big BMW fan, though I have always thought they have nice turn signal sound. This press car has an interesting California license plate....I wonder what it is doing way out in Pittsburgh. Matt has not had time to shave. I had a similar problem on a 98 LS1 Camaro. I installed a "catch can" into the PCV system and this solved the problem. If Civics engines start imploding I'll be worried, until then it will be of little concern.
