      Michael jai white said that ufc type of fighting looks boring on the cameras, it's not flashy enough, so it wouldn't sell, Hollywood will never pick up something that drops their sales.

    The cross, double step to low kick is so handy in sparring because it gets my head soooo far off center line that I almost always feel safe pulling this move. Every once and awhile I’ll get lazy, not get enough off center, drop hands, and get caught with a head kick. But it’s noticeable that it occurs simply when I’m lazy.
    Great technique, we appreciate you Jeff 🤝

    About new generation fighters, mind giving some advice?
    I rarely write questions on CZcams, specifically martial arts but i need some help with the situation here
    I train mma for self defense and fun as a sport and a sort og a philosophical joureny of discovery and managing some anger issues and social problems (ik it seens kinda weird but to each his own)
    The gym that i am in have daily hard spars and two sessions a week.
    I trained there for month and already feel that I took damage, my first day i sparred a dude with like 20 years of experience much heavier and he was trying to ko , i felt dizzy ,i trained in other places before but i never felt close to being knocked out before ,i wasn't knocked out or down tho.
    Anyway i was put up against much older and heavier more experienced fighter who were trying to ko me.
    I had headache for a week, my eyes sucked(althoughi already have vision issues ), my jaw hurt abd took a two weeks break
    However currently i don't spar those people but still hard sparring everyday.
    My two questions are , did i like get a subconcussion or something permanent(yhe symptomsare gone nkw so orolly won'tget a medical attention ?Or this just how to feel to take beating from better people and i am being paranoid.
    Also i know a place wich offers mma classes five days a week,two striking, one wrestling, one grappling and one sparring, that i have to take to busses to go there compar.(they actually hosted a seminar of yours A while ago) compared to the one i am currently in that offers two days one striking, another grappling bwith sparring mashed around those two ,however it us very close to my house that i walk to it
    Do you suggest i give them a visit.
    Also ,i had a "streetfight "in this gym with some dude from their kickboxing team that i left for mma ,the dude got salty and kept running his mluth and pushed ,anyway i threw him down and left him.
    So there is already some drama going on but the fear of the unknown makes me hesietant to leave them and also the other only mma place close is further and more expensive (i can afford it,but idk if richier people will have the determination to become good fighters and that sparring them will make me better,i am not "isee red "type of dude, but are people training at fancy places"tough"
    Also I am having big projects coming up and to go the new place I know will take anywa from 2.5 To 4.5 hours a day(training time included)
    Plz no criticism i am just asking for advice

    • @MMAShredded
      @MMAShredded  Před měsícem

      Hey man, that definitely doesn’t sound like a gym you should be training at. Hard sparring is only recommended if you are in fight camp. You should be technical sparring for the most part / on a regular basis. I would try the new gym!

    Greetings from Athens, Greece! If I may ask, will the training retreat happen on Athens? Or at the very least will a day-event be organized there?
    And one more question, considering your experience, how heavy should a heavy bag be for a 150 lbs person, so it doesn't swing around with kicks.

    • @MMAShredded
      @MMAShredded  Před měsícem

      I recommend light sparring

    • @MMAShredded
      @MMAShredded  Před měsícem +3

      CTE is definitely a real thing. I stopped fighting professionally because the pay is not worth the brain damage. People think I spar hard and too often but in reality I spar once a week if im lucky (I just film every session so it seems like I spar a lot). When you are in fight camp tho, you are sparring much more frequently and it's recommended to spar harder to replicate a fight. I did have urges to go back and see how far I can go, but now that I am a father, I am very content with my decision! Cheers!

    Mma sparring does head kicks? No wonder people complain about guys taking it too far getting hurt in sparring. Muay thai I haven't seen kicks higher than the chest and they don't try to take their opponents head off unless it's a real match.
