  • Echo has 4 tanks of fuel through it. Running rich on factory tune, just breaking in. 50 plus hours on my 462c. Both awesome saws. Both saws have new Stihl Rs chains. Right out of box. 3/8 .050 72DL . 7 pin sprockets on both. Wood is Oak, been downed since 7/4/2020.

Id love to see this comparison after the echo has about 10 more tanks through it. My 590 saw noticeable or gain from where you are at now to the ±15 tank point.

I have 3 Echo 's, a 355 and 303 for using when in a tree and a P620, all run great and have held up for a long while now with minimal maintenance, a home owner Husq. (maybe 340?) that hasn't been used in years and my newest is a Sthil 462C and would have bought the Echo 7310 if they were open but it was a impulse purchase but it's a great running saw. Ive found I need an even bigger saw for the tree service wood Im getting, most sticks are 25-30+ inches and the 462 will cut it but not fast enough for me lol

I like how your Echo ran. Seems like a lower RPM set-up and that may lead to longer life. My saw in that class is the Husqvarna 572XP with 20 and 24 inch bars. It is a high reving saw and awesome cutter; longiviy??? we shall see if I live that long myself.

Gotta say I’m glad echo is finally playing game with the big boys again. I’ve got an old CS-670 that’s seen it’s fair share of use. It’s a dog, but it gets the job done. Reminds me of an old ford 300 I6. It might not have the speed but it’ll get it done. This 7310 looks like a pretty good replacement for the old echo plus some. Thanks for the comparison!

I like chainsaws. Don't really care who makes them. I acquired a 462c recently because I was curious. If it holds up they are pretty awesome saws. I cut in different temperatures and different elevations and the thing is the same in every condition. Can't fix it myself but I have other saws that I can work on so no big deal. Is it worth it? I would have to say no unless your a production cutter and every second counts. The power to weight thing is pretty cool but some days I still like bucking with my old cs8000. The bottom line to me is nobody gets in trouble for cheating on their chainsaw so try them all with a open mind and do your maintenance.

I don't need a stopwatch for that one.
That Stihl has power, rpm, weight advantage and it cuts QUICK.
I can't help but wonder if it's worth the cost over the 7310 because I have no clue what the Echo costs, only that it must be less than the 462.
