    Hi Tim, this pattern is genius, I was amazed when I saw it in I think Fly Fisherman a few years ago. It's mega buggy and simple using only the Brahma hen and clear rib. It just plain works! If you're interested Davie McPhail just posted a cdc variant today. Thanks for doing this one.

    Very cool, buggy fly. Thanks

    This pattern is close to one I used last year with great results. I will be sure to tie a few of these to include the "Fluff" at the head of the fly...Great Tutorial! Thank You!

    I didn't have the suggested 'round rib'. I looked at my way overbought selection of threads and other sundries and ended up using a yellow Uni-Flexx. The little hint of color looked great. Tied another with an olive color. Will be fishing the Batten Kill Monday & Tuesday this week so look forward to trying the flies. Great pattern and another great video!

    Nice video Tim. This fly is a killer that is so easy to tie and works on any caddis stream. I'll keep singing the praises of this fly :)

      I can't wait to try it here in NJ/PA but conditions really haven't allowed. It was great meeting you guys, the other pattern you showed me will be coming along shortly. Thanks for sharing.

    I know this video is old but just threw this fly up in the upper sac and I got some big slams, wasnt the regular bite spit, it was a full on truck hitting it, top 10 for me now

    A really good friend just sold a camp on the rangley lakes. I wish I could have bought it. It needed a lot of tlc but it isn't easy to get a camp there anymore. Hope you enjoyed my Home State. Love it here. Put my hair up a bit for a minute to see such a "secret" tie on CZcams but I guess they all get out eventually. Nancy's prayer is a great pattern. I have seen it on a blog once on the internet. No picture just the pattern. Have no idea who initiated it but the feathers to tie them are hard to come by, at least here. Alll the best, Sean

      Every time I go to Maine it becomes harder and harder to leave, just can't get enough of the place. Nancy's Prayer, huh.

    When I was there i couple of weeks back the water was really high and we only landed 3 nice salmon in 3 long days

    I added a light coating of Bondic on the wing feather...Little more durable and it looks more like a caddis wing..Thanks

    Looks like a variation of the Nancy's Prayer- I always wondered how much you need to change a fly before you can rename it as your own haha

    • @tightlinevideo
      @tightlinevideo  Před 7 lety +2

      Yes William, haha. I didn't "rename it as my own" the Tabou Caddis was developed years ago by Steve Schweitzer formerly of Whiting Hackle to take advantage of some of their more unique feather offerings. It is true that both flies represent emerging caddis but any similarity stops there. They share not a single common material. Not one. And, Nancy's Prayer has neither a tail nor a rib.

    • @WilliamJohnson-uv9ex
      @WilliamJohnson-uv9ex Před 7 lety

      tightlinevideo, I know you didn't just alter it and change the name. You always give credit to the originators and a little background when you can. I really enjoy that. That being said you should check out the west branch caddis and the Nancy's prayer if you get the time. Simple ties but very effective. Both were tied for land lockeds on one of Maine's best salmon rivers. Anyway l, I love the videos. I have had good luck and lots of fun tying/fishing some of the patterns on your channel. Keep it up....and tight lines!

    Fished high or on the bottom?
    Thanks

    • @tightlinevideo
      @tightlinevideo  Před 10 lety +1

      Fished as an emerger, really anywhere in the water column. Behind a weighted fly is great especially at the end of the drift when the fly begins to rise.

    What other Brahma colors do you like this in for the Northeast other than tan? Thanks for all you do Tim......and Matt.

    • @tightlinevideo
      @tightlinevideo  Před 9 lety

      All the colors Whiting offers look good but the golden olive is probably my favorite followed by the rusty brown. Matt has promised to tie for the upcoming week!

      tightlinevideo trying to locate the "rusty brown" color. Do you know what Whiting actually calls it? I.e brown, copper brown, march brown, golden brown, etc.? Thank you.

    • @tightlinevideo
      @tightlinevideo  Před 10 lety

      A good number of salmon but not a whole lot of larger fish. The water was quite low at the beginning of the trip and then really came up quick with a number of dam releases. Kinda put the fish off the bite for a time. Always fun though.
