One thing about Jack he came up with effective easy to tie patterns from very readily available and inexpensive materials, the man was a genius at this sort of thing, My favorite of his is the soft hackle streamers, I been experimenting with different color combinations for years now, The sparrow is a must have nymph for your box! I like fishing in high heavy flows during the colder months! Hare's Ear for dubbing works really well for some odd reason!
As a friend of Jacks he would have approved your variation of the head for this fly
I really like the flies you tie in your videos. They are simple And catch pretty well, even here in germany!
Sparrow reminds me alot. Of the Casual dressed fly pattern wonder which one came up with it first 🤔
I like this variation, never had much luck working with those Aftershaft (filo) feathers. Can't go work with Brahma.
Great videos! I am starting to get into Salmon Fly tying and was wondering if you could make a video on you favorite salmon fly
Looks like a crane fly larva if you either cut the tail or make it really long
I ordered this pelt in tan (whiting farms soft hackle with chiabou pelt)... but it looks nothing like this. Its a solid color and an unnaturally plain and tan compared to yours. Are you ordering a speckled version or how can I get something that looks like what your using?
What is the name of the place that Tim mentions for the dubbing brush?
LaCroftStoray = The Craft Store. Sorry.
