It has bluetooth and a 3.5mm jack in an entry level studio quality headphones. This thing is a steal
The battery life is amazing. Good audio. The only issue is the noise isolation. In a noisy environment, the sound suffers.
I'm glad I went with this over the at30s not only does this sound good it all suits all of my needs
good review, cover with any feature especially mic testing, very useful
Those look pretty clean!
I want these! Dammit. I currently use the Marshall Major lll's, which are pretty nice, but maaaaan, these look so great.
Thanks for the review :)
I've broken like 3 or 4 Over-Ear One Odio wireless headphones because I sleep (tossin/turnin) while listening to music. Wondering if this AT's M20xBT are durable to withstand my recklessness. Great viddy.
They will probably release the m40bt
Just bought them :) I also have wired ATH M20x as well. I really like the sound and battery life is insane.
Have you experienced any echoing when you wire it?
how the sound comparing with the M20x?
@@LongTa Very similar, very good sound. I like the bass and the crystal clear sound.
I wish they'd got the noise isolation more on point. That's all that's missing in noisy environments.
Can you not use the bt version wired?
Thank you for the vídeo!
Hello, thanks for your review! I want to ask you, how good is the low latency mode? I miss this specification everywhere. Can you measure it in ms? Are m20xBT suitable for listening TV? Koss Porta Pro Wireless are quite good in this TV task (I think, thanks to AptX codec??), but I love the sound of original wired M20x.
Many thanks for your reply.
Theyer great for tv, not latency issues noticed with low latency turned on.
I saw you were able to pull off one of the earpads, so I'm guessing they're replaceable(?) Is the headband also replaceable? I really wish AT would take a page from Beyerdynamic (and now Rode) and stop making the pads out of vinyl, which flakes off so easily over time. They should use felt or velour pads, or microfiber or such.
Definitely a great review. Light weight? Good sound (and “fun”) qualities, no frills? LOL the downside is the microphone for me. Thanks Jordan for the review 😊
Whould you recommend these or Sennheiser HD 450BT?
Can't wait to use this with my switch haha
I love the ATH-HL7BT🫠
i already got this and yes i love it❤ waiting for m-30xbt or m-40xbt👍🏻
That would be amazing, but I hope it takes a few years so they get the latest technology
These headphones are so technical
I originally said after testing them that the bass was meh… and boiii I was wrong it’s such tight clean and deep bass whilst keeping everything else pretty balanced.. such a happy purchase!!!
These are the first AT BT Monitor Headphones I have ever bought, just this month. They’re an upgrade over the SR220 BT on-ear headphones also from AT, also just bought this month. I wear glasses and the on-ears are terrible with those.
got it for a flight, gonna test them out tomorrow on the plane. So far they are very comfy and have really good features for a cheap headphone
Is it comfortable for very long term use (hours at a time?)
I love these but they don't have ANC which is what people use for in airplanes
@@FeministCatwomanvery comfortable, probably the most comfortable I have tried in Bluetooth (wired would be HD599 and DT770 Pro). Similar in comfort to the Sony XM4, both very lightweight
@@residentzeroThank you for your answer! I just got them
@@FeministCatwomanLet me know how comfy they are, like for hours of long use
Does this work well on pc for what i do? I listen to music and chat with friends on discord
...It took them long enough I have been using the normal M20Xs for four years now I have repaired them a couple of times from cable wear which required taking the headset apart and stripping the wire, and I went "Why could they not throw BT in this?" or "I should throw BT in this"
Soldering headphone wire is one of the most annoying experiences I’ve had. lol
you can solder in a 3.5mm port instead.
if you're creative enough, you might even be able to solder in a 2.5mm port instead and fit a FIIO BTA10 for M50X (or the one for the other model(
I have had my wired for years now and I just got the bt but I am very disappointed by the quality drop in the materials used. I also noticed the bt model was smaller then wired
@@ME-yr1gnwill it be durable if i use it for like 4-5 hours every?
@@rvvinayak2243 I’m not quite sure I have definitely grow to like the bt version more since 9 months ago, but I definitely don’t use them that much to have a say. But I would say with like 1-2 use everyday 9 months later they are basically still factory condition good
Thank you , just ordered one in White.
Update: received, looks great phones, using for playing my keyboard piano and like it a lot! Very light, not pushing head, and when I change pianos modes it very well catch all changes. (I think , will buy M50X for side by side compare...let you know.)
please reply to me if you'll get the m50x! i'm interested in knowing the differences
How is the soundstage and frequency? No reviews online talk about this very important topic on these headphones.
Sound stage is small as it is a closed back headphone. I believe the frequency response is kind of V- shaped
gonna buy one for home pc use
i was impressed by the bass quality of this headphones ☠️💀☠️💀 worth the buy yall
Hows the Sound Quality?
@@sheizuI'm impressed at the sound quality. Nothing beats my wired AKG K371 and Sennheiser HD 650, but for Bluetooth these are up there. I miss the lack of ANC a bit but I think that makes headphones that have it extremely expensive and heavier. When the sound starts playing I don't hear the outside noise, but when passive, leakage is plenty. I still love them. The clarity in incredible, I have several other BT headphones up to 8 times more expensive and they exaggerate the bass at the expense of everything else which can be muffled. Coming from those, these are very balanced, the bass is not lacking at all, very precise and accurate but not overblown. Only problem is at high notes these can be a bit sibilant like the sound of plastic bags being squished. It's not a deal breaker because the over all sound is very balanced and the clarity makes up for the treble noise. I also think they're not as fun as other headphones, but are very accurate and don't stand on the way of sound except the occasional sibilance. Some people might find them boring at times but I really like how neutral and true to the source the are. Balanced sound is the key word. If they had a EQ app ir would help to fix the gritty treble issue which is its only defect, do they're not perfect but for the price they're amazing. One last thing, and this can be a bit downside, the soundstage isn't there
Can other people hear it? I have a condenser mic so I need to not be able to hear it
Is the headband flexible? Every headphone i have ever had eventually ended up breaking apart mainly with the headband, including my most recent one that is a gift. I'm really considering getting these when i have the money.
Did u buy it? I have the same problem with all the headphones I buy
Does king diamond sound excellent on these headphones?
This or Anker Q30's?
how does it compare to the regular wired m20x?
The first time i tried it and one it blows me was just how wide it sounds....
I bought my wired version back in I think 2018 maybe. I don’t know if supply chain issues or something else, but I feel as if the Bluetooth pair feels cheaper, and smaller then the my older one, a big thing I noticed if when the Bluetooth is wired in there is an echo effect
@StoneJack for me their is but it could be a me thing my computer is being wacky as all hell.
@@ME-yr1gn it could be your wire cable try replacing the wire
I don't get an echo effect. Maybe you have the Bluetooth on when wired. Try to turn the Bluetooth off when you listen wired.
You can't use these wired and BT at the same time. When I plugged the cable it turned off the BT
Can we use it for call/phone call?
Great video and information. How do these compare to the ATH-M50xBT2?
Thanks! I haven’t tried those
@@9to5toys would be great if you guys can make a comparison video
@@PutitoCorner So compare to a headphone more than 2x the price that makes a lot of sense. 😂🤡
Does it have noise cancellation?
Lack of earcup rotation is unfortunate. If I'm going to be traveling around with them around my neck I need movement.
I wish they did the m40x in BT
There is a m50x bt2 those are exceptional. LDAC support as well as sound quality even better.
@@shamhosein770 I have them in orange but I still prefer m40x tuning. The m50x bt2 is much better than og m50x though
i'm a Protest the Hero fan! i'll buy these headphones, you got me!!!! ahahah
How does it compare to its brother ATH-M50X in terms of audio quality?
How does this compare to SR30BT?
no aptx-hd or Ldac hi-res codec support is a bummer!
Those available on M50xBT2.
It's great idea to test the headphone with Daft Punk soundtrack as you mentioned, appreciate your review there. Thanks 😁👍🏼
can i use them for gaming on my pc? cause of the low latency mode?
and what do i need for it?
Simple, just pair it out use it wired. Then press power button 3 times for gaming mode I noticed they're already very low latency watching Netflix (I don't game) even without gaming mode
would these be okay for the gym? (walking on the treadmill & heavy resistance training)
Would recoommend earbuds instead
Looks decent but god i hate the wires exposed on sides
80 bucks is a steal.
How long does the battery really last? Thank you!
i listen at around 60-75% volume for around 42-48 hours before it bugs me of low batt currently.
Vs normal 20x?
How are these compared to Sony XM4 in audio only?
More neutral, no ANC. I like ATH better, it's audio way more clear, not muffled like the Sony which is very drowned in bass. Some people just prefer that heavy bass because they can't discern quality sound
How does this compared with soundcore q30
is soundcore better?
i want m40x with anc
Now I wish they made by version of all their m srurs headphones
guys help, this one or logitech g pro wireless?
Anybody know what version of bluetooth this is?
5.0.
Can i use a boom mic in this?
It doesn't come with one, but you could add a mod mic or something similar.
If they put a 2.4g receiver and a dongle this could be the best gaming headset both aesthetically and sound
M40x with hm5 pads, 2.5 to 3.5mm adapter, and a vmoda boom pro. Thank me later
theres a low latency modefor gaming
I was wondering can you attach an external microphone to these, so I can use it in the office ?
Ya! Could do a mod mic
@@9to5toyswhich one you reccomend?
This is better than most wireless gaming headsets lol
Why would you want wireless to sit down in front of your computer and play games, lol. Gaming is one of the few situations where wireless is less convenient because you're not moving at all.
@@Jake-bt3fc u cant understand…thats a fake comment
@@Jake-bt3fc very true. Personally I hate wires. My headset, mouse, and keyboard are all wireless. But yeah definitely no reason to go wireless when sitting at your desk all day.
I mostly listening heavy metal, death metal etc... Is it good for metal music?
I have them and I also listen to heavy music. They play very well, but some songs lose their power. Order, listen and rate.
I have the normal m20x and the ear cups cracked up after drying out or something. It was stored in the box for just 5 months unused.
But I do love the sound and bought the SR50 BT afterwards
Just get new earcups, I get mine from Thomann, no biggie they are worth it 😉
anyone have an idea if these work on the PS5 (cordless)?
I don't think the PS5 allows bluetooth headphone pairing...
So these don’t cancel noise?
No
my only issue with audio technica's m20-m50 line is that there is no soundstage or imaging. I understand that the wired version is a budget vocal monitoring option, so soundstage and imaging aren't at the top of the list, but for anything requiring positional, directional audio, these ain't it.
your description reminded me of the HD 25
@@ryanbernard3977 Koss KSC75 has both good soundstage and imaging for $20
@@ravantgarde1899what is imaging soundstage in headsets?
This is batter then sound stage quality sony wh-1000xm4? Please reply to me.
nah xm4 is better same as xm5
@@fallenscsl i am asking about this audio technica model audio quality
If you want sound stage get open back headphones
Also, the XM4's obviously will have a better sound stage, they are more detailed and have larger earcups.
@@Raju-hu9su it would have to be better sound quality wise b/c those Xm4's sound very veiled, almost muffled @ times. I think Sony was going after ' gadgetry ' more than a great sound signature, but their new Xm5's are much better according to th reviews.🍻
everything is better than wh-1000xm4...u buy those for features and comfort...they are average at best in soundquality
When will this get released in India ?😭
It's here!!
Is it good for gaming as well?
Did you get it? I was wondering whether I should go for the wired options but those don't have any microphones. Does this have any mics?
@@SpaceXplorer13 no but i did tried it, overall it was nice, I would recommend it highly
Are they noise canceling microphones?
no
might as well give the akg k3xx bluetooth option a go as well.... or even the new Austrian audio version....
I really love my k371 (wired version) but since the BT version is several years old it uses an obsolete BT chip and I've read that it's pretty bad, bad connectivity, and bad sound quality and different than it wired version. I don't know if this is truth as I haven't heard the wireless one. But I would really, really love an updated version, AKG K371BT2 would be incredible
wired will always b superior to wireless@@residentzero
Just snagged a paid on Amazon for $55 :D (Prime Day discount)
I'm deciding between this one and Yamaha yh-e700a, any advice? ;D
no
Does it have ANC
Yes
"normal" headphone review vs "hobbyist" headphone review = headphones vs headphone.
Thank you for the review it helped me a lot!
I use this music to test headphones:
czcams.com/video/11Zce9gmjIA/video.html
It has low bass, vocal and high sounds as well. If you guys have good quality songs to test headphones do not hesitate to share! 🙂
Other song is Queen - Breakthrou but I only use to test if the bass is good enough (there is a real low bass guitar chord in it and on shitty headphones I can not even hear that sound).
Bought as a spare pair and i hate that stupid flashing light!!!!
Hey a LED light sticker cover
Can’t seem to find them on any site atm. :S

Flat sound headphone
Wow there was no good info in this.. Lets hope that they don't sound like shit like the 50x did after the awesome 40x
the M50X sounds closer to the original M50 with a bit of added clarity/highs. Its increased clarity due to the drivers and its V-shaped "musical" sound signature has pros and cons: pros being increased clarity at the expense of bad files sounding bad especially pop music. If you are using MP3s of pop music off the Internet you are better off with the flatter and less-revealing M40X. Meanwhile, if you have higher-quality files, especially ones with strings, female vocals, and better-mastered music, the M50X will invigorate your desire and search for those tiny little details. The M70X pushes even further with a flat version of the M50X. Pop music really dies but piano, strings, orchestra, and even vintage music come alive. Those normally sound like transistor radio music on the M40X but they sound live with the M70X.
For me, the M50X is my go to as it has a fun-sounding V-signature that is equally good on pop, EDM, strings, vocals, orchestra, and vintage music without sacrificing any one kind of genre completely so long as the music files are good and you have a great DAC like the AudioQuest Dragonfly.
The M40X here is only now relagated to listening to pop-music and the M70X when I need to hear more from strings/piano vs the M50X. The FIIO BTA10 bluetooth adapter kind of makes it sound like an M40X though with the missing clarity, highs, and width.
If you think the M50X is crap, I can recommend you try them again with a good DAC/amp (like the Dragonfly) and some non-pop music from CDs or FLACs. If you don't do those, then I can understand how the M50X (can) make pop music or low-quality files sound bad.
For me though, the M20X/M30X sounds a bit too muddied. Like listening through a wall compared to the M50X. Sounds a bit much like their street monitors series. TBF the M30X fared better when I used 128kbit pop music MP3s in my built-in DAC compared to my M50X. But the M30X fails for any sort of clarity when female vocals or strings are prominent in the music.
For people looking to buy some first budget monitors, I steer them away from the M20X/M30X into something comparable but way cheaper like the OneOdio Pro10. For cheap, I can describe that one as sounding like the M40X/M50X combined with (some) muddiness in the M30X. A very nice first set for anyone starting out. Surprisingly, the sound also scales up when used with a good DAC (like the M40X/50X).
Yeah like you are going to listen to someone who uses over ear headphones at workout.
