Some people insult Dangote and say successive governments in Nigeria hand over the Nigerian economy to this man on a plate. The question people should ask themselves is; is Dangote the first man or woman to get favours from the Nigerian government? And those that did, what did they do with the opportunities they had? They got oil black and oil lifted contracts, got the money and deposited the money in foreign bank accounts to the detriment of the Nigerian economy and it's people. They use the money to buy choice houses in different prime locations of the world. The money deposited in those foreign accounts are used by those banks to lend to their citizens and oil their own economies whilst our own economy and citizens suffer. That's exactly what's been happening. However, Dangote has used the opportunities he has to the corridor of power to make money that he has been investing in the Nigerian economy because he believes in Nigeria. Many businessmen and women have been emulating this real son of the soil. Only the stupid ones with no brains are still ferrying monies mostly stolen out of the economy.

Building a refinery is now very classical and require no additional technology development. everything has been done decades ago by others. just copy it and paste and it need no brain.
it might interest you to know that those manning the technical aspect of this plant are foreigners. Almost all the nigerians working here provide mostly the needed muscle and not the brains proving again the stupidity of our government not developing capacity through efficient educational curricula. it is shameful that a country like nigeria whose gdp is 95% oil and gas generated is building a refinery through a private person in 2021.

What Nigerians need is 24/7 electricity by investing in solar power, windmills and nuclear power plants that’s what can bring foreign investment back to the country like it was in the 70s, 80s and early 90s.

If we’re so challenged and inspired within our personal space, large or small, we shall endeavour to do our best, just like Mr. Aliko Dangote.
We must all borrow a page from his playbook. If he can do so much for himself and our country, we can have no choice than to do our best, within our own space, for ourselves and the country we call ours.

@@mungopark1876 Skyscraper race into the sky is what those cranes are acquired for instead for hiring. Yeah I know abt the road construction. I remember a picture I saw of Dangote in Florida going round an exhibition or gigantic tower model on display. With some who look like Wall Street stockbrokers conducting him round keenly looking through his lenses. Haha..

I'm beyond elated and so hopeful for Nigeria. Thank you Aliko Dangote; your positive legacy is forever enshrined in History. Once you take care of Energy structure in Nigeria - everything else falls in line. Private sector is the only solution to Nigeria's problem. success is inevitable from here on. Once we eliminate our corrupt blood sucking politicians - we are good to go. Thank you Arise News, excellent reporting Abisola.
