    Once you get the impaction out, drink metamucil diligently. Every night or every morning. Also, eat alot of salads, like every night with dinner and/or lunch. It is very good for you, fills you up on veggies and keeps everything moving around...

    Just treated my own fecal Impaction at home as I am a nurse. Caused by Cholestyramine and Imodium and not enough water. If I wasn’t a nurse I would have needed to go to the ER. Normally I have 20 diarrhea BMS per day. (Known cause) It’s either that or impaction from medication. I have to be very careful with water. I was as gentle as I could be and utilized mineral oil enemas as well as glycerine suppositories to help me. It took all day as so I could be gentle but it worked. Soft ball size. I am so sore. Not in pain but sore and slightly bleeding. Red but not a lot. I’m sure it’s my internal hemorrhoid. I never pushed hard. I know not to do that. I heard your brother passed from this? I’m so sorry. I have known people to get abdominal compartment syndrome from this and know it’s scary and I’m so sorry. Education is very important so thank you for all you do! ❤️

      ꧁ Orlando Cruz ꧂ A bowel obstruction can be fatal, but it’s not the same thing. I know that with a bowel obstruction the part of the bowel affected can become necrotic (basically the tissue begins to die) and that can definitely be fatal if not treated quickly. I don’t know if the same thing can happen with an impaction, but it could be possible.

    I had one of these with the bottom edge pressing down on the anal sphincter.This thing was wicked, hard, dry and misshapen. I finally passed it with the use of a mineral oil enema, which was difficult to use since the impaction was largely blocking the rectum. No use in trying to break it up manually, it was simply too hard, just trying it caused extreme pain. The cramps I was having were terrible, I couldn't even pass gas, it was a complete blockage. Any change in my body position would start the cramps up again. Felt like the greatest sense of urgency but without results. During one attack, I screwed up my resolve and hit the john. On the 3rd painful push, I felt the impaction move womewhat. I was able to pass it and the relief was dramatic. I passed 2 smaller impactions later in the week with the help of a mix of mineral oil and warm water enema. I couldn't even eat while the impaction was in place. It killed my appetite.

    I've suffered constipation for most of my life, caused by effects of child birth. A couple of years ago after dieting it got so bad I was seriously impacted. I improvised with a tube connected to a squirty bottle of warm water. After struggling the first couple of times to get the tube in my bum I washed out tons of hard black "pebbles". Twice a day for a week as if you're impacted your lower intestines are full. Now I use a bowel irrigation or enema kit , bought online. It's been life changing. Now a consultant is supplying me with one. Don't over do the bran or take loads of laxatives. The bran will make the impaction worse and laxatives will make stools runny to they run past the lmpaction. Hope it's helpful

    This is an old video, bur I'm going to post anyway. I've had chronic constipation for over 25 years. I'm in my 60's now. I cant push my poop out. I did a manual rectal this morning, and omg, there is SOOOO much impacted stool in my rectum, but it's so high up. I have tried EVERYTHING! This morning, I did 2 mineral oil enemas, and nothing! I have so much rectal pain, and I also have hemorrhoids! I cant break the stool up with my finger, because it's too high up! I cant eat, because I'm all filled up. I've lost 6 lbs in a week. But I dont want to lose it this way.
    I dont want to go to ER, because of the new spike in Covid! I am laying on a heating pad under my butt. I was hoping that the heat would help to soften it. I've strained so much! I feel like I'm gonna die with this! I'm so scared right now. I need help!

    • @imniiillustrations4044
      @imniiillustrations4044 Před 3 lety +3

      I think you should definitely contact your doctor cause it sounds pretty bad! I'm no doctor myself BUT what works for me is Miralax/Perrigo, Docusate/Colace and Senna! You can ask a Dr. for scripts of them! Keep doing it manually if it can come down enough and eventually it should start getting softer and softer. Takes me a few days to see results.
      I'd try Magnesium Citrate if you're in a hurry, and it sounds like you might be... It's supposed to flush you out a bit. If THAT does nothing, it's a BIG emergency. The weight loss is concerning as it is and sounds like an ER visit waiting to happen. Impaction can cause death...so be weary.
      Also, a liquid Fleet suppository may help so it's not too painful and of course...KY Jelly. Also make sure you drink LOTS of fluids. Water is best but Apple juice also works, or any edible fluid as long as it contains water lol
      Best of luck! I hope you get better soon! And PLEASE contact a doctor!

      Just to clarify, I use Perrigo, Colace, and Senna together everyday! I only have problems if I forget a dose. They can typically be found in store, but they usually can be prescribed! Also fruit/veggie smoothies help me out a lot too, lots of fiber and helps me eat without feeling too yucky on a bad bout of impaction.

      MS or any other disorders that limit mobility. MS in particular affects pretty much anything and everything as it affects the nervous system, which controls everything else. So an MS lesion (or whatever you want to call it) in just the right spot could make you lose control of your bladder or bowels, or make you blind, or make something go numb, or make you unable to move something...the list goes on and on. When I was diagnosed I had actually lost all feeling below the shoulders for about three weeks. Thankfully everything still worked, but it was seriously weird not being able to feel anything. Ten years later lots of things don’t work or don’t work well, and I still have some loss of sensation, mostly in my left hand and arm.
      I did get to deal with this lovely condition along the way. It took three trips to the ER over the course of five days to get them to do something, and by that time I had a nasty UTI as a result of the failed enemas and such. I now have to take three different stool softeners daily just to keep things moving. (It doesn’t help that I take iron and a couple other things that have constipation as a side effect.)
      And that concludes this entry of way too much information.
