Have you heard the idea that we have 20 pounds of toxic poop in our colons? Today we're going to talk about if there's any truth to it.
I don't think the average person or even a person with constipation has 10 or 20 pounds of toxic waste in their colon. It's not impossible for someone to have this much waste in their colon, but it's rare.
Waste is not always toxic. Many people think they need to flush out waste to be clean and healthy. But, when people do these cleanses, they also flush out friendly bacteria that they need to help with digestion and many other things.
Different factors can affect the material going through your system. If someone is constipated, they need to consider probiotics and fiber. But, you need to get your fiber from vegetables and your probiotics from foods or a high-quality probiotic supplement.
Herbal laxatives can also be beneficial, but keep in mind that the root cause of your constipation relates to something wrong with your diet. Ultimately, fixing your diet is the best thing you can do to help with digestive problems.

I didn't know how poop was toxic until I've got diagnosed with liver cirrosis. In final stages of that sickness, I had dementia symptoms because my liver didn't worked and I had to take and horrid medicinal syrup to help my body cleaning my blood. I trembled so badly that couldn't use a pencil anymore, don't remember words when I spoke and was not able to use my phone anymore. I needed somes trips at the hospital because I had poop in my intestines and it intoxicated my blood. I had to take prophylactic antibiotics for almost a year because if I don't, I had life threatening fever. All thoses symtoms were because some poop was in my intestines for more than 8h. Its very very toxic and we have no idea all the jobs ours liver do before it starts failing. I had a transplant last year, at days of dying of liver failure. I was lucky. Take great care of your body everyone because you don't know how mutch it's important before it's start failing.

Give thanks and I’m happy that you found out in time and take action. We have to take care of our bodies, if we don’t want to have all these illnesses and making so many trips to the doctor when in fact it’s just our way of eating . Some people have backed up poop in their system and the poisonous toxins from it can cause all those problems because the liver cleanses the blood before it’s taken to all the various parts of the body and if the liver is overworked and can’t do its job any more then we are going to end up with all these problems with toxins spilling out in the bloodstream affecting our brain, getting dizzy spells , fevers and even pain in the legs . So put the right stuff in your body and you will get good result.

I had my second colonoscopy several months ago. I came out with pain in the left groin area. The doc who performed the procedure told me the initial entrance was difficult because my lower colon had an unusually tight bend. He also said I didn't fully clean out..but he did get a good look at everything. He recommended that a juvenile scope be used the next time. Those words cleared some history for me. When I had a hernia repair in 1998, the doc told me he would make 4 small incisions. When I woke, I had a 6" cut across my groin. He told me he found my lower gut kinked. I didn't give it much further thought. In 2005, I had my first colonoscopy. The doc said I hadn't cleaned out fully. So now, 2023, same story. So...I happen to be one of those people with a linked lower colon and I need to be extra careful with my diet. Im 2005, when I went on a juice, no McDonald's, no soda diet, I went from 220# down to 180# and I felt fantastic...sciatic and other pains totally disappeared. I think I would spend more that 20 seconds on the toilet and most of the time it was a clean one shot wipe. People...watch your diet...walk and stretch at the very least.

I agree! Walking everyday is so important! And stay away from inflammatory foods and stress etc. I was just in the hospital for back to back surgeries: a burst appendix followed by an adhesion small intestine bowl obstruction. I was doing Keto and IF before this and was in pretty good shape. The bowl obstruction, as it was explained to me was not do to constipation but a complication related to my appendix. I went out of my way to walk in the hospital and now at home i’ve built up to an hour on flat ground - I feel like I’m preaching to the choir but its so important to get your body moving and stay away from garbage processed foods and sugar / carbs.

Constipation has recently been confirmed as an early symptom of dementia. So many issues are linked to fast food and processed food. My mum just left us ... she was 98 with no illness, no arthritis - she lived on a restricted diet until late 1960s when the ration books finally disappeared in England then continued on a basic, bland but healthy diet out of choice. She had treats but they were occasional. She did eat lots of toast and cakes however - making up for lost time. She was still tiny in her final years but regularly suffered with constipation. It's all about the food!!!

There's no value in the cracker aisle and that was her favorite place. Now I'm working to stop the progression. Keeping her away from sugar helps but with every bite, she says it needs sugar. 🥴 So glad you're Mom made it to 98. That's almost a miracle these day. 🙂

    Two facts of the day.
    1. Henry the Eighth had massive constipation problems. "With the diet that Henry ate, it is no wonder that he had some digestive issues. Henry, of course, was not the only one eating at the Tudor court. In one year, meat consumption totalled 1,240 oxen, 8,200 sheep, 2,330 deer, 760 calves, 1,870 pigs and 53 wild boars and they drank 600,000 gallons of beer."

I fast for a week every month. Just drink 4 litres of water a day with fasting salts during that and it completely clears me out and I love it.

A week might be a bit much for people especially if they have a very fast metabolism and lose weight quick. Id rather stick to fasting 2-3 days once a month.
