Thats the best type of podcast. It doesnt feel like an oversized interview.. its just them talking.
I agree, it’s more of a moderated conversation instead of a interview
prolly cause no tommy no hate but this just 3 nba dudes talking not 3 dudes and a cohost in the room
Yea I’ve been really enjoying the no Tommy
@@farhantalukder ayo yall some haters lol I feel like Tommy is one of us. He ask good questions and hes not star struck sitting in the room with these guys. He building his own legacy rn. Go watch All the smoke if you want to see NBA players jack each other off for 2 hours and talk about the "good old days"
yo fr not too much on tommy he asks really good questions and gets out the way when the superstar has to go ISO. Good dude
The sincerity in JJ's voice when he says, "I don't think you're a bust, Evan." What a guy.
I agree but it also sounded a little sarcastic
@@yungaffiliatewell, they’re friends. so i can see why
@@sagevercettigaming6000he also knows ET lasted long enough to make ~$100mil (not incl. sponsorships).
Thats a career any college player would be happy with.
Busts don't get to play ten years in the NBA.
@@alexandercromwell3932yeah they do
This has to be one of the best episodes I've ever seen JJ do. They need a round two of this episode. This was gold...AI talking about JP, EJ talking about being a killer on the court turning soft, and JJ's comments. Then seeing the genuine laughs...an instant classic.
I just said the same thing! They *defo* need a round 2 to this cuz this was a fantastic convo!
Word@@TheUltimateRage. It was outstanding.
100%
Probably the best episode in my opinion. Better than the interview with RJ which was my favorite...JJ should do more panel for suree
Totally agree. Great energy between these 3 and was loving the conversations.
This was the realest basketball discussion on a podcast ever. Thank you Evan Turner.
Realest is not a word

@@janoycresnova9156yes, it is.

its not but IT IS adequate@@janoycresnova9156
Evan turnt up and then went right back to being a “nice guy.” That’s how you know he has a good heart and love for the game. You are who you are.
“You held him to that 40 point triple double” 😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Had me dead. Replayed that like 10 times🤣🤣🤣
Can the three of you have a joint podcast like this every month? This collab is the new big three
Evan's career may have been diminished but his sense of humor was left intact...he had me crying. He's one funny guy.
This entire Episode was excellent, but the last 30mins of these Guys being Candid about their feelings pertaining to "Surviving" in the league was somewhat emotional.
When ET said he cried because he was unsure about his future, I felt that in my soul as a former athlete. These Guys had a dream that 99% of basketball players have, make it to the NBA. They are THE BEST PLAYERS IN THE ENTIRE WORLD and worked their a$$es off to become that. From high school to college they were the best, then make it to the league just to become a role player or have a lesser role than what they've done their entire life. That is an adjustment in itself. Not to mention that if you get drafted to a team that openly says, "Were not trying to win right now". If a player then tries to take his future into his own hands and shoots more and passes less or tries to get traded to a better situation, he's selfish and gets bashed by fans, the owners and the media. But nobody mentions how these teams draft guys just to let their lifelong dream or a career get wasted away. I'm not saying players shouldn't be held accountable for some negative things they do that may hurt the team, but there should be WAY MORE scrutiny on these teams for putting players in bad positions for selfish reasons. That's why I love the fact that players are now starting to structure deals that better benefit them. The owners are Billionaires and will be financially set for decades, but these "Expendable pieces (players)" are a dime a dozen.
When an owner does what's best for his team and pockets, it's a business... but notice how when a player looks out for himself in the same manner, he's Selfish.
GREAT SHOW TODAY GUYS!
Very well said thank you for the perspective and insight
I’m telling you every part of this podcast was intriguing then like you said the last 30 minutes I felt that it made saw it from their point of view and I felt like screaming expressing the emotions
Andre Miller aka the Professor, absolute master of the game, once averaged 11 assists on one of the worst offensive team in the nba in the slowest pace possible
Highkey very underrated
an all red sweatsuit with nothing on it lmaoooo that had me dying
@@voica3976”this wasn’t for fashion” 😭😭😭
Bro did not average 11 assists a game ever. I’m not saying he wasn’t a beast but bruh you getting outta hand with that 🤣
@@Nickpayne243001-02 cavs. You're incorrect.
Respect to Evan Turner. Real fans know you were a great team basketball player.
This is one of my favorite episodes because of how easy the conversation was. Full of levity and transparency of the league. Would love a golf podcast episode with Andre, Steph, and others.
I love listening to players talk about the game. We need more of this as fans we don't hear about the things that go on in the game and what y'all are thinking. I'm happy to see the fellas having a life outside of basketball on CZcams and embracing this space. jj, keep doing your thing and I hope your space beats Steven A's and skips in the future.
Probably my favorite episode. I like the dynamic Evan brought from his perspective in playing.
This is by far the best podcast episode to date. Of any hoops pod. Pure, candid insight on ball & perspective of being in different roles on a team up to retirement. Chef’s kiss
I wish this was the permanent crew. The conversation just flows.
Keep me like Russel Westbrook…and when it’s all said and done I’ll go to rehab 😂😂 I felt that
😭😭😭 best line in the P
This is like a TV show crossover. Always a fun time.
Agreed. They should do this more often
"You held him to that 40-point triple-double. Great job!"
The funniest thing I've heard all week!
Easily the best episode of ANY SPORT-THEMED podcast, EVER! Huge thank you to JJ, Evan, and my guy Iggy for your authenticity and honesty. This needs to be an annual event, either on this pod or on Point Foward.
Certified smoke is great too but I definitely loved this!
JJ, we the fans needed atleast 30 minutes more of this episode 👏 👏 👏 👏
That's the best episode by a LONG mile and we've had some amazing ones.... Lemme tell ya: this lineup had three completely different views on things yet they all had meaningful insights, it was a blast... please, more episodes with this trio
Not trying to be prisoner of the moment but I've listened to, I think, every one of these podcasts, and this one is easily my favorite. The level of depth and vulnerability in this conversation was awesome. Also as an aside.. I didn't even realize Evan Turner wasn't in the league anymore 😭
I'll fall off JJ's podcast for a bit but every time I return, im immediately reminded why I love tuning in. Can't wait for next season to begin
...... iight bro get of his nuts
Make this a once a month collaboration. Such a good conversation, Evan's authenticity is awesome!
E.T. is brilliant. Hearing from the NBA role player who’s career is diminished from team first play was needed. A lot of great NBA talent retired early for the same reason he did.
lmao Iguodola with the real questions to start off
The authenticity 😂😂
Lol fr off the bat. im like this is gonna be a great convo 😂
Evan Turner would be the perfect voice for a live action Lilo and Stitch
This is so good. No bs. Just high level, technical hoops talk.
This might be the most intelligent basketball conversation ever produced. So many 📐s to the game that these guys are expert in. TY!
I read that as squares not angles lmao
The standard for true greatness is Bernard King.
nah this has some of the best one liners in the whole mf series i’m dyinggggg 35:34 “Bro you guys are really the superhumans of your people” 😭
1:22:00 wow you can almost feel the raw disconnect players feel with fans about their humanity and the money… sheesh dat was raw
I just want Evan to say “Ohana Means Family”
This is a violation lol
Bro I literally died reading this comment 😂😂
Ayo 😂🤣
Bra no mercy 😂☠️
@ the NBA union meetings y'all all sit together, lol. (Had me dying)
"I thought you played well, JJ" lmaooooooooo😂😂😂😂 1:29:20
I remember seeing Even Turner back in the day in Boston or Philly and I was like.. this guy is real skilled, why don't they use him more?
This could have been 2 hours longer and still left us wanting.
The Convo Hit Different When You Mention Andre Miller. Do Yall Homework On Andre Miller Whooping 😂😂😂
Just got in bed and sat awake for an hour watching this through to the end. Captivating.
Man… this was awesome. Evan got personal and that was super awesome
Y’all 3 might’ve had the most insightful basketball podcast I ever heard 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This was one of THE BEST episodes of a basketball podcast I've ever watched! I wish they would've gone more in depth with the talk about players vs owners, cuz Iggy was right, that dynamic could've been an episode by itself! Such a fantastic, super insightful conversation about the nuances of basketball and the behind-the-scenes politics of the greatest sports league in the world!
Love from Vancouver, Iggy! Thanks for the shout out!
Love how they really talk basketball and not all the drama stuff
JJ doesn’t have to compensate for weaknesses like Steven A smith. He doesn’t have to yell and scream or find big words to get our attention. Just keep doing pods like this. This discussion is gold.
Stephen A has nothing to do with this stop trying to tear another man down to uplift another.. square
@@gwilliams9417 SAS can tear down max. And is tearing down if I’m stating facts? SAS is excessively loud to compensate for what he lacks.
When Andre said that about Larry and Michael that made a whole lot of sense. Great podcast. Great point as well about how your entitlemet wasn't allowed to get out of control.
This was the best podcast I have ever heard in my life and I watched a lot of your episodes. I was crazy hyped for the podcasts with my favorite players and you delivered on them but this one had everything.. laughter, seriousness, emotions and just great interactions that made a great conversation. 3 dudes that hooped and are just great minds all around.
My fav. episode. I need more Andre Iguodala in my life.
Iggy was talking about Harrison Barnes 😂😂😂
That was so good. I have to be honest, for the first half of the pod, I really wished it was just Iggy and JJ, but Evan added so much to it the 2nd half. That was just the perfect blend of technical basketball talk, honesty, real issues and fun stories. Just nailed it.
One of the best episodes you’ve done. So much insight packed in this one.
Andre Miller & Iguodala was so entertaining!! Loved those Sixers years even tho we weren’t that great! Iggy is still my favorite player & always was! Much love Iggy. Not all Philly fans didn’t like you. I had about 5 Iggy jerseys 😂
Denver Iggy was nasty in 2k
Wow!!! We need more of this! I listen to a lot of Basketball Podcasts…and this is hands down one of my favorites so far! Love the deep dives, different perspectives, and jokes! Please keep this up.
Evan Turner is pure comedy!!!😂😂😂
Best show ever. The three of you should do a permanent show together.
amazing show JJ thanks for the awesome content, Evan and Dre all the success to your pod
Evan Turner jokes dawgg, you held him to that 40 point triple double 💀23:40
JJ listing Nas, Tupac and Eminem just made me give him real props
I stopped following NBA closely three years ago but JJ Redick's podcast is the only podcast I still listen to from time to time
This was one of my favorite podcast listens in a while. That hour and a half flew by. Love how genuine and candid the conversation felt between 3 guys who had drastically different careers - Andre and Evan were great guests. Think they have a bright future in sports media.
To be able to watch the amount of love they have for each other was amazing for me today.
I like what turner was saying about shooters confidence. And that bit about Duncan Robinson. Underrated topic.
Definitely my favourite episode. Really gave a great insight into the mindset and inner workings of the NBA. Great conversation
This is the most real and best episode to date.. these insights/concepts are so refreshing and something that i can adapt to my company.
Unbelievable episode! I truly mean this, you guys should combine the two podcasts and make this a more frequent event. This was AMAZING!!
The fact that most of the technical talk went way over my head as a casual basketball watcher and I still enjoyed every minute of this episode says a lot. Great show.
The flow of the conversation is so amazing that this pod’s episode is second to none! Now we need one with JJ on point forward!
Absolutely incredible conversation
You should have Dre and E on a few times throughout the season. This is too good.
Evan Turner talks smack about Portland at 53:50 without naming Portland.
man, that whole convo from @59:00 on is amazing. Those types of discussions are why I listen to really smart podcasts. This is definitely one of them. I gotta go dig through the archives now.
Struck gold with this one! Hilarious and informative. 😂
That was 100 minutes? It felt like a flash! I need more of you Guys! I felt like I was there sitting with you, and it didn't feel like an interview, just an open and honest conversation with friends. Great stuff!
My favorite interview so far. Seemed organic. Appreciate yall.
I dont know why but I love Evan Turner after this podcast. I'm sad I didn't appreciate him enough
Interview starts at 9:16 👍🏽
I love the sincerity from ET in this interview. It is extremely insightful. It had to be frustrating to be walking on eggshells in a league where you are constantly being judged.
Loved this interview growing up once a sixers fans watching these guys ball gave me nothing but great memories and seeing them on a podcast together brought me so much joy and nostalgia
I've loved a lot of these, but this episode is the best podcast you've ever done. Thank you, JJ, and thank you Iggy and Evan.
20:20 was looking up floppy when JJ drew it up LOL.. W move
This was a really good one prob cuz they’re all used to doing podcasts, but the conversation from all 3 meshes really well together. Would be dope if they got together to do more shows every once in a while
100% keeping real with these guys. Great one.
I love how candid this conversation was. One of my favorites
6:20 “we haven’t seen Steph like this” … yes we have. The young Warriors core had their first successful season with Jarrett Jack playing the point in 2013. Steph and Klay on the wing. We are in for a treat!
Klay post up are back
I know you can’t always say who to protect your old teammates, but the name dropping in the stories is so fuckin funny to me😂
Knew this would be a great one and it exceeded my expectations, 10/10. It had everything, real ball talk but didn’t feel like a podcast/interview, felt like guys just chopping it up! Great stuff
These guys were great. Evan made me laugh so hard. The chemistry here is pretty good. No one trying to big note each other. Or act cool. Great show.
...as a hoop geek i loooooove this technical running set tealk and in depth team dynamics. Having ran the point back in HS i appreciated the "floppy" talk lol
Thank you 3!!
I'm glad this discussion was a 90 min episode but man if it had gone on for 3 hrs I'd watch every second. Great job fellas.
Omg best conversation and a mad men quote, I couldn't have enjoyed this more.😊
Concerning the GOAT question and Duncan.. how many players can say of themselves that they played for 20 years, won 50 games every single year and were a title contender every. single. year. of their career?
If they had won both against Miami, he is 6 for 6. Hard to not see him as the GOAT. But his playstyle and attitude (laid back) make him under-appreciated.
@@1wirksthink your point about his attitude is so over looked. I think if he had more outgoing personality that he would be widely considered top 5.
duncan has a WAY better goat candidacy than ppl give him credit for. his team was never a loser, he was an excellent defender, a great offensive player, and probably the best leader in the modern era. he was the biggest piece of the spurs' culture, and you can see it now that he isn't playing there...they still had solid players (aldridge and derozan) and they still had pop, but they just weren't the same...and that's duncan. ppl act like he always had an excellent team around him...look at that 2003 team again. duncan was GREAT and has a better case than kobe, for sure, for ex.
It’s hard enough arguing Duncan>Kobe with most NBA fans let alone getting him into top 5 consideration.
Cuz he’s just not better than Kareem, Jordan , or Lebron. His argument is only winning, all the goats won
I love these types of interviews. Well done by everyone involved. I still think Iggy has at least one more left in him with my WARRIORS. May God always watch over all these dudes!
This is probably the BEST pod episode ever, from any podcast… 🔥🔥💯💯
Sincerely the best episode of om3. I need a monthly episode with these 3.
Killer episode! Evan is funny as hell 😆
These three should just do a podcast together
The pain in Evan’s voice 😢 hope he heals
I felt the same thing 😞 Evan has such a beautiful heart and love for the game. This was a great episode!
Now following all of your podcasts . Great great interview!
I love this episode. They have to have to have to do another. I love Evan's openingness. The one thing someone should have told him, the one thing that's different between him, iggy, and jj. When you fully commit to the process of greatness, you never have regrets with the end results. I've personally seen Evan get the bag and quit. And the fact that he's still resentful about his his career played out shows it
I think you've oversimplified the situation. A key part of committing yourself to the process of greatness means being honest about the results and being willing to reassess whether what you're doing is working. You can take on a small role and treat it as just as important as any other role on a team, but if after some number of years the team has problems you can't seem to fix, like part of their leadership actively sabotaging the team, your best choice in the pursuit of greatness might be to focus on your own health, and try to find opportunities in the league to move to a team that doesn't have the same problems. Our lifetimes are limited and an athlete doesn't get many chances to roll the dice like this.
wym quit he got paid 70 mil to shoot 3-4 shots a game and just pay defense and pass and the shots he got weren’t plays ran for him yet he still played big part in playoffs it’s crazy how y’all comment on somebody you don’t watch and just come up with y’all own narrative
Evan was always consistent in portland and under appreciated......his midrange game was way better than youd think......he would have been better in the league 20 years ago before the 3
