  • My father has Alzheimer's. In June of 2014 he had a horrific fall. He shattered his pelvis, leaving him unable to walk or stand ever again. I take care of him. There is no way to get him out of the house. I utilize a Hoyer lift to get him out of his bedroom twice a day. I made this video to help others learn how to get their bed-bound loved ones up and out of bed. Hope this helps.

You are absolutely wonderful and so supportive of your Dad. From watching your video's l'm aware your Dad has passed away. You were a truly remarkable loving and caring daughter. Your video's ought to be used in teaching the professional care providers of how to provide the best holistic care and support to those who live with Alzheimers and their carers. You're the best! Thank you.

Hi🙋I was just wondering have you always called your father by his first name instead of Dad??? Just curious..

Miss I Told You Sooo He may forget that he is a "dad," but it'll always be instinctive to respond to his name.

What is the name of the chair? I kept replaying to try to figure it out.

It's called a Broda chair. My father could not sit in a wheelchair without being in pain. The Broda chair was a saving grace as he can sit comfortably for hours in it. It comes with an optional extra padding package that helps people who suffer from cognativly impairment, such as Alzheimer's feel safer and therefore calmer. The manufacturer is located in Canada. Their website is www.brodaseating.com . Different medical supply businesses throughout the USA carry Broad chairs. Hope this is helpful!

Those are called moon shoes, they're used to prevent pressure ulcers on the heels.
