My husband is away in the army. I wanted/needed to replace the vanity. I DID IT!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!
You’re very welcome. Say thank you to your husband for his service. 💪🏼👍🏼
Great job! Girl power! I’m next.
Your husband is out killing children and blowing up wedding parties whilst you're changing bathroom vanity units 😂
Haha.. love it 💕
My partner won’t let me change the vanity so I’ll do it myself when he’s at work 🤣🤣🤣🤣
That tip about removing the side piece off the sink surround first was key! Thanks to that, my vanity removing went from impossible to done. Thanks Daddicated!!
So glad to hear that. Thanks for taking the time to let me know. I love reading comments like these.
Thanks for making this short and to the point. Excellent video.
You’re welcome. Glad you liked it.
Wow simple and fast! Usually people spend like 30 minutes just talking. I’m for sure following you. Thank
I appreciate the follow. Thank you. I try to value your time and myself hate when I watch a 10 minute video that could be only 2 minutes.
Great video - simple but detailed explanation and good footage showing me exactly what to do. Hopefully it will go as smoothly when I attempt it! Will definitely be having a wine afterwards.
Thanks for the feedback. Yes definitely need to reward yourself after big projects. Lol
Thank you for explaining so well and putting the tools in the description.
Anytime. Thank you for stopping by.

Yeah it’s not too bad, just gotta dig in and do it.
Just removed my vanity thanks to your video. Extremely helpful. Thank you.
Let's go! Awesome, thanks for sharing. Always happy to read comments like these.
We did it!! It took me and both my daughters about 4/5 hours because the one we took out was smaller than the one we put in. So we had to make some adjustments. But it's done!! Now I can get their toothbrushes out of my kitchen!! Thank you for this video!
Awesome. I'm proud of you.
Thank you SO much for this!! We bought a new vanity and tile for our half bath and I've been begging my husband to remove the old vanity for months! I finally decided to try and tackle it myself and your video made it a breeze! Now to get painting walls 😁
Glad I could help.
Nice job ripping the metal off with a screwdriver!
I did something similar to remove a heat shield on my Forester.
New subscriber.
Lol, thanks man. I appreciate the support.
Thank you! Just took it out!!! Very helpful
Glad I could help. Thanks for sharing. 💪🏼
Perfect video!!!! Thank you!!

This is seriously so good! Everyone else makes it seem so intimidating.
Thank you for your kind words. It's not bad at all. You just got to get into it and do it.
Exactly!
Great video helped me out alot

You’re welcome some guy. 😄

Anytime. Glad I could help.
I can’t find the original comment but I wanted to say thank you for ur response !!! And thank u for these videos !!
No problem. I'm happy to help with what I can.
Thank you 😊
You’re welcome.
I'm nervous to remove the water knobs. Afraid the water will kick on or something. Lol. I'm giving it a go this evening.
Well just to be safe u can always turn off your main water line first. Then you will definitely be fine. Let me know how it goes.
2:11 for the win... If you're a parent you know 😉 Great vid man. Short and sweet
Thanks. Lol
I‘m using this video step by step to exchange my vanity. How would you go about disconnecting the water supply line if its adapted to the valve?
Usually between ur sink and the valves there are hoses that you can easily remove. Just remember to turn off your main water source.
Excellent video! Took my sink out in 5 minutes
Glad to hear that.
Great video, the steps are very clearly explained! How much time did it take you to remove the vanity?
Not much, an hour or two don’t remember to be honest.
This is a simple activity, in hindsight, but before watching this video I wasn't sure where to start. I watched the video while brushing teeth and when I finished I got the prybar and removed the vanity
Lol. Thanks for sharing. The brushing teeth comment made me smile. 😃
@@Daddicated 😂
I want to move my vanity/sink to a different corner in my bathroom. Just like 2 feet from where it currently is. Like I need it to stay intact but just come off the wall and idk I guess extend the pipes. Any video for that?
No unfortunately I don't. The challenge you will have is the screws that hold the vanity to the wall are hard to get to when the sink and the counter top is installed. You almost will have to carefully remove the counter/sink. Then carefully remove vanity, move it, and then reinstall the counter and sink. Basically similar steps for remove as in this video but trying not to damage anything.
The ideas going through my head! I think I can do it myself instead of hiring someone
You can do it. 💪🏼 Just need to try it.
I was thinking that, too! Oh, the sense of accomplishment we'll have, right?
Although, I had a friend help with a 'simple' toiket tank leak repair yesterday, and at the very end, last turn if the wrench, I overtightened the nut 'just a tad' ... CRACK! There went the whole tank. Bye bye 40 yr old toilet. 👋 😩 😤 So.. guess I'm re-doing that bathroom sooner than planned. 🤪🙄😮💨
Hey after you shut the water off under the sink do you have to shut the main water line going to that sink?
As long as you are not cutting off your valves then no. but if you are cutting the valves off and replacing them as well then you need to shut the main valve off.
Hello,
The new vanity that you bought does it come with the sink system or do you have to buy that part separate? Also does every vanity have that hole in the bottom of it? My townhouse is older just wondering so I can have so ortho or raid on hand lol?
No the one we got was without the sink and counter top. But I think you can find a vanity that comes with everything. We were looking for a specific look so we had to buy them separately.
Why would you need bug spray to remove your vanity? 🤔
Thank you. Now I know I need to hire a professional! 😂 If I take my time, I’m sure I can do it. This was helpful.
You got this. I believe in you.
Nice video. I will attempt this, mine is a double 🤞🏾
👍🏼💪🏼Let me know how it goes.
Will do!
@@katoloniable How did it go?
perfect
Thanks
You could've saved the backing you pulled from the vanity as a template to cut the holes into the new vanity...
That’s a really good idea. Thanks
Nice video. How long did that project take?
Thanks. About 5 months in total because I took big breaks in between plus there were thanksgiving and Christmas holidays in the middle as well.
Oh good... for a second there I thought you were saying it took five months to take the vanity out!
😂 . My wife would kill me if I took that long to just remove the vanity. Lol
Sounds like peice of cake. 😅 Now to get my brother to do it.🤣
Just show him the video and tell him see how easy it is. Lol
@@Daddicated 😉
This confirmed I'm paying someone else to this.
You don't think you can tackle this yourself?
lol.. I was thinking.. "now I don't feel so bad asking a friend to help me." It's a bit simpler than I'd imagined.
I tried, my vanity won’t budge at all. 😢
Now what to do the the pipes ??? How do u hide /remove them if u do not want another vanity there ??
You can cut them short into the wall and properly cap them. Or reroute the piping to where u need it to go.
My vanity was painted as to save me money and retiled bathroom with porcelain tile. My vanity is in the floor so no tile there. Can I remove old vanity probably I would have to replace a few tiles and Airtel underneath because the new vanity I don't want it embedded in the floor and probably would have to paint the back wall the color that I had it painted above the vanity. If you could assist me as to exactly what would need to be done. I would rather do it myself.
So depending on the tile you have you may have a hard time finding something that matches the existing. Your best bet since you are removing the vanity is to go ahead and replace the floor tiles. Usually bathrooms aren’t too bad since they are small enough you can tackle it yourself. And yes depending on vanity size you may need to touch up your wall with some paint. Also a good opportunity to repaint all of it since matching paint could be difficult at times. Anyways. Good luck let me know if u have any questions.
@@Daddicated fortunately I can get the exact tile I purchased from supplier and paint was from Sherwin Williams this was all done in January this year so would that change your opinion as to what I could do? Already renovated bathroom but was given bad advice from a bad contractor. I appreciate your assistance ☺️. Thank you for replying.
If My Supervisor Says “OH MY” , I’m Obviously Working For The Right Man! 😉 😂❤
Uh?
@@Daddicated Just thought it was cute when the kid said “oh my “ . I apologize for my cretinous attempt at a joke. 🤷🏻♂️
You forgot the part about telling us to turn off the main water valve to the house. I just had a nice little shower. .. Not amused at all.
My bad. Hopefully you used some soap while your at it.
@@Daddicated 😂😂😂
You shouldn't need to turn it off but it is not a bad idea incase you bust a pipe. You do need to turn off the hot and cold below the sink before removing the lines lol.
@@digi3218 Nah...my house is different. I had to turn off the main water outside. It was still a great video. The shower caught me off guard. lol
I would like there to be a video on how to install a bathroom vanity
Yeah unfortunately I forgot to record it when I was installing mine. I should of tho. Next bathroom I’ll definitely do one.
Did you shut the water from the entire house?
Yes to be on the safe side. But if the water supply valves are shut that should also work too.
I wish my husband was handy. Or even me!! 🥺
You are handy, the key is not being afraid to try and fail. And learn from failure and try again. You get better with each time.
You shouldn’t need channel lock pliers on those p trap nuts🤷🏽♂️ hand tight should be perfect
Some times it gets stuck especially on older houses.
Absolutely not champ, always get it a little snug
Im sure its levers and not knobs .....ball lever valves. never heard of knob valves
you're probably right.
Escutcheon
thanks
So basically break everything. Thanks
Lol yep pretty much.
Not flange escutcheons
That's a hard word to say. lol
I did it wrong.
I don’t have a kid to exclaim “oh my!”
I ended up installing a Marvel skybeam.
Lol. Yeah that inspector kid is a must. lol
closed comments on. Yikes. comments from ??? regarding relationships...then back to the remove vanity and so on. stopped watching
Uh? What are u talking about?
@@Daddicated when you turn on the closed captioning, what you get has nothing to do with your video. Not sure who put it in.
@@dianaellard2157 Weird. I think I fixed it. It had created a Vietnamese but it actually was just random words instead. So I deleted it. Thanks for letting me know.
Did you get them damn metal cutters yet 🤣😂🤣
Ha ha. No I need too. Lol 😂
@@Daddicated 🤣🤣🤣
@@USMCSDI I haven't had a big need for them yet. lol Maybe if I get into metal working. lol
