    This was SUPER helpful. Thank you for sharing. I just got my first free marine biology unit and am a little overwhelmed at organizing it and how the lesson will flow. This clarifies a lot.

    This was a great video thank you for sharing I home school 4 children as well, we have a 10, 9, 7, and 3 graders. The hardest part is making sure the are learning what they need and retaining the information, but not speeding through the work.

    Question: do you feel the units are enough for upper grades, like 5th, 6th, or even 7th and 8th grade? I'm really struggling this year with science and I need the struggle to end 🤣 I really need to find a good fit. We've hardly done science this year because everything weve tried has been pretty much awful, other than me building my own unit studies but that's too time consuming for me.

    Do you do one lesson per day that you do science? We are testing out Language Arts right now before I order but trying to figure out scheduling history and science.

    • @GraceandGrit
      @GraceandGrit  Před 5 lety

      i do the recommended amount per week. History 2-3x and science 2x

    So i have a question. Is this the first time your 5th grader was doing this unit study? if we teach the child in Kindergarten, do we re-do the same unit study at a later stage?Not sure if my question makes sense....but I hope it does. This is the thing i dont understand about unit studies

    What would the older kids do? That seems a little simple for my middle schooler. I saw online that they have extra work for the older kids. Can you tell me what they assign for the older kids in this lesson so I can get an idea before purchase? Thanks!

    That looks like a great curriculum , we're using Berean Builders by Dr Jay Wile. They seem somehow similar as we have daily experiments, the lesson and review right after! we love science.. our favorite subject!!

    • @GraceandGrit

      Antonella Padilla yes year 1 on history regardless of age. The science is a unit study so you can pick any, there are no orders there

    I'm currently shopping for next year and I'm considering both Sonlight and The Good and the Beautiful for science. Since you have used both, I'm wondering if you can use the two together? It looks like the Good and the Beautiful are basically unit studies. Do you think it would be too much to pair both curriculums together? For example I was thinking of doing the anatomy unit from Good and the Beautiful, at the same time that Sonlight covers the body. Also, since you have moved to the Good and the Beautiful do you use anything else to supplement their science units? Thanks!

    When did TGTB start? I've never heard of it. does it come with any books to read or do you always read out of the teacher book? if so, how many books? are they suggested to borrow from library or do they come with curriculum?

  • @ourblessednest5669
    @ourblessednest5669 Před 6 lety

    Just curious, is there a reason you dont use Sonlight's science curriculum? I am exploring my options and was thinking about ordering their full subject curriculum.
