HOW LONG DOES HOMESCHOOLING TAKE?||RAW REAL AND UNEDITED||4 KIDS
Vložit
- čas přidán 18. 11. 2018
- Today I am answering your guys' common question of how long it actually takes to homeschool 4 kids. OF course we have shorter days, but I felt I should show what a typical day looks like if we cover all of our subjects. Please remember that every child is different and your times may be different than mine, but I wanted to share so you have a timeframe in mind. We kept it really raw and real in this video. No makeup, the kids in pjs. Hope this helps you guys!

You talking about going back and forth between kids made me smile. I am a former elementary teacher and teachers in the school do the same thing, except they have 30 kids to jump between. So kids in school just have to wait longer. Homeschooling moms shouldn't worry about having to make their kids wait for help. 😊
Emily Powers agree! Thankyou for that encouragement!
I love and it's so refreshing to see that your sixth grade daughter is still so young and innocent, compared to kids who would actually be in public middle school! She is also your little mini me 😁
Megan Thankyou! I am so proud of her for that!
My kindergartner was telling me that kids in her class were telling her about drugs.... I was already considering homeschool for next year but now it is a done deal.
"In case you're wondering why they're in their pajamas"... 😂😂😂😂😂...... I can't remember a day that we've homeschooled in clothes. You are the real mvp for having your kids get dressed every day. My 4 year old wears his underwear for school. 😂
@@marid8375 pajamas is one of the greatest benefits to homeschooling. ;)
Would love to see the schedule you mentioned you gave your kids at the beginning of the year so they know what to do next. Do you have a video about that?
Loved this video! So fun to see another homeschool mama’s routine. My 4 kiddos are much younger at 9,5, and 3 for school, but this is our 7th year homeschooling. We do basket time too and then our independent/ mommy one on one subjects. I learned about the Good and the Beautiful through your channel and we are so so loving it this year!! Thank you!
Lexi Zuo yay so happy to hear you’re enjoying it
God answers my prayers through your Channel so often! I ordered that book right away! Also, thank you for being so real and honest. I often am discouraged with the CZcams world of a full face of makeup. I also love your DITL!
Jennifer Campbell Thankyou so much! Glad i could encourage you ❤️
I love videos like this! It’s so beautiful to see parents so engaged with their children. That’s why I want to homeschool.
The way you mouth the words when they read 🤣. I thought I was the only one! Tfs!
Kelly Albertson I only realized this after I filmed this 😂
Lol, I think it is inevitable when listening to new readers
This was an awesome video Ashlee! So helpful. 👍🏻 I totally laughed out loud when your son started climbing the bookshelf! “What are you doing?” You said it so calmly. 😆😂👍🏻❤️
Jennifer Lee haha I felt like that wasn’t a good thing to include but I did anyway!
It was a good thing to include coz the rest of us get to sigh and see 'its not just my kids' 😥 and also seeing calm parenting when kids are being kids is helpful to those of us who didn't receive it and want to do differently to what we grew up with. So double thankyou for leaving it in 😊
Great to see a regular day in someone else's family! I totally agree with flexibility, my kiddos are still quite small and so self directed/independent work is limited right now. I'm looking forward to something a bit more structured like your day! Thanks for showing us!
That Irish Schoolhouse Thankyou so much for watching! ❤️
I love seeing how other people do their homeschool. Great video.
onka256 Thankyou!
Your home and family are lovely! I enjoyed the peek into your homeschool day. I especially loved the monkey on the bookshelf!😉 You’re doing a great job!
Courtney Downs Thankyou so much!!
You guys are quick! My kids are grade 6, 4, 3, k and then a toddler and when we made the switch to TGTB LA it greatly increased our lesson time. 8:30 to 4ish for us (4 days a week)!
Looks like a great school day if you ask me!! Good job guys!
Ciera Williams awe Ginny! Thankyou!
I love this! It's always so fun seeing how other homeschool families organize their days
Home & Arrows I agree! Thankyou!
Love this insight into your homeschool day! What math curriculum do you use for your 1st and 3rd grader?
I kinda chuckled at your statement of “there is only One mom and four kids!! I taught for years and told my first graders. Ok. There’s only One “me” and 25 if you!! ... be patient !!!
I feel like this changes throughout the year depending on what we are doinn
you mentioned a chart that helped them your kiddos know their routine/flow and that you had a video explaining that. I can't find the video and i'm really interested in that!
I would be interested in this too!
found it @Kindra! czcams.com/video/TcW7NwgU0so/video.html
When they do open ended things like the history letters, do you put a time limit on it? I feel like with some of those things my oldest would take alllllll day so a lot of times he has to pause his work and move on so the rest of us can and then he has to finish at the end of the school day
Thank you for this video, I will be fully homeschooling a TK and 7th grader coming the end of this month, I'm nervous, but I have an idea having preschooled my son at home. I love your family dynamic, love your videos!
The Balancing Mom awe Thankyou! You’re going to be great!
Looks like our day! Happy Homeschooling!
Christina Sheaff back at ya!
Thanks for sharing your school day with us!! I think I'm going to switch my history and science in the morning and I love the Bible history time-line book!! :-)
Homeschool Mom of 2 thanks for watching!! ❤️❤️
Just bought God's Timeline from your link :) Thanks for the recommendation! So excited to get into this one. 😍
Hope you guys love it! I think you will! It’s fascinating!
I love it! So sweet watching a mama read to her kids.
Thank you for all your time. Where can I find the reading books that you mentioned here. Also do you have any book list to do book reports. My son and I have trouble finding Christian fiction books that are good and clean. Also what do you use for music and how do you teach it? Lol sorry so many questions
Just came across your youtube. We are just starting with TG&TB. What is the schedule you give your kids in the beginning of the year?
This was great to see. My daughter is about to start 3rd grade work. How long does it take your kiddo about that age to do math? And how long is given for independent reading? Our day seems to take forever and I would love to finish by lunch. I know her math can drag on as she doesn't like it. I am changing curriculum to make it quicker buf I am wondering what a reasonable time slot would be.
Is the Church timeline book Mormon? Also, something that has worked great for us is them doing handwriting while I read History at our dining room table. One thing done and checked off as they listen. ;)
what is your music curriculum? we are a very musical family, but first year homeschooling. Thank you!
Would love to know the audio story that was playing during read aloud
time!!?
Beautiful family! Thank you for this *real* day! Loved it!! Do you do a separate writing program with your older kids? Or only use TGTB?
Rachel Eldred only tgatb
Hello! I love your channel. I'm a homeschool mom of 3. I'm curious what typing curriculm you use?
Do you make commision from TGATB link? I'll be sure to use it for future purchases if you do!
Have you ever done a review on squilt and do you still like it/use it? :)
thank you for this insight, do you think the history is ok for just grade 1 or wait til 2nd?
Great video! When did they begin reading by themselves without help?
What curriculum are you using for your music binder?
What math curriculum was your son doing on the computer? Or was that just a supplementary game?
I love following you and thank you so much for sharing everything with the world! You are helping so many Mamas! 💕
awe thankyou, thats teaching textbooks, its his curriruclum
This was very helpful for me! Thank you!
Thanks for sharing! Such a sweet family! Did y’all get to do composer study? Also, do your kids do typing each day? Thanks!
Moments+Peace typing is a different kid each day, and we didn’t get to the composer that day!
Looks like you had a good day. ❤️
I enjoy your videos. What is your opinion on co-ops?
How many pages a day do you have your daughter do ETC? I never know exactly how many I should assign and whether we should still do it when we start TGTB after Christmas.
Amanda Wallace I like it because she can usually do it on her own, which helps me have time to help another child. She does 2 pages a day
This was a great video!!
Jessica Dormi thanks so much
I am late in watching this video. But I can't remember seeing a video of your kids schedule? I would love to see one. As I am gearing up for next year's homeschool. My son will be in 4th this next school year. We are just wrapping up 3rd now. But I haven't found a good schedule that sticks. I'm also wanting to make him a little more independent next year.
Angie Steuck yes I’ll be sharing their flows soon!
@@GraceandGrit could you link that video of their schedule/flows?
nevermind- found it! Thank you! Here's the link if anyone else is looking: czcams.com/video/TcW7NwgU0so/video.html
This video is quite helpful. Thank you.
Where did you get your basket for morning basket? I need a new one
home goods!
Where did you get that couch? I love it. 😍
Heather Kelly rcwilley!
@@GraceandGrit Thank you. ♥️ Do you know the brand or style?
Does your 3rd grader do typing everyday?
Please teach your children to properly sound out words instead of correcting them. Teach them all phonograms! Fellow homeschooling mom/teacher.
What do you use for music curriculum?
aqueen13 squilt.com
It’s a composer study
Is your third grader using Horizons math? And is that TGATB your 1st grader was reading the words from?
I have another question lol, when do you fit in read alouds? I can’t seem to find where to fit it into our day. We do morning basket, then break and come back to finish our individuals as well.
Raising Disciples we do them with morning basket or at bedtime
Raising Disciples yes he’s using horizons and yes those words are from level 1 tgatb
Do you keep track of grades?
Kayla J no but I check for accuracy and we correct mistakes: so basically everything would be 100%
