Gusto's explosiveness and tenacity to get up and down both ends of the pitch is incredible. He's great at both attacking and defending. Most importantly, he isn't built like a twig.
Right? Always so direct when he's on the ball and I always trust him when he's making a tackle (even in our box)

@@PabloEdition James started as a midfielder. He also played there for Wigan. His physicality, technique and composure will make him a great midfielder.
reece needs selling to meet ffp rules along with Gallagher as they count as PURE profit on the books
Play back 3 with Reece as RCB and Gusti as right wingback... At least, this help reduce physical burden on Reece and avoid repeated injury.
When fit I'd want them both in the team, so this makes sense but I don't think it maximises James' crossing/shooting ability. I'd say maybe he moves into a central role - he played there a few times at Wigan on loan - but then again, all depends on fitness...

If Reece James fits and didn't get injured, Pochettino should play him as a CDM/DMF he can rotate with Malo in RB/RWB if Caicedo get subs in

Caicedo is doing poorly in most games to my utter shock and disappointment. Doesn't read games and doesn't fall back to support the defenders neither is his speed anything like we saw in his former club. I agree Poch should convert James to a DM, maybe caicedo will see reasons to step up his game by all means.

I think if he continues like this he will be the best RB in the world, after reece James )if he’s healthy). Reece does literally everything amazingly. He’s stocky and strong and great on defense and yet he’s fast. Was owned by vini in one game but also manage to stop vini in another who’s probably the hardest winger to play against today. Reece has crossing thats almost comparable to arnold yet totally different style. He’s link up is beautiful. Gusto is amazing and we’re blessed to have him but i think reece is everything gusto is and better with crosses and on defense.
I think it’s time Chelsea looks a hard look at Reece and converts him back to a midfielder. We cannot rely on just Enzo, Caicedo and Gallagher to do everything. Enzo can’t do the 10, Caicedo looks lost as a single pivot and Gallagher can’t shoot or even half turn to save his life and we’re playing him as a 10.
The fullback/wingback role, especially currently since our attack is so lopsided due to Palmer being on incredible form, is too hard on Reece James. If he comes back and slots back in that position, although I think he’s quite literally the best in the world on his day, I fear his body can’t take it. Also having Reece on the field is a great right footed option for both direct and indirect freekicks
@@ares_behindthemask8848 But you’re missing that he’s undergone surgery which he wasnt going through for a long time hoping he wouldn’t need it. Its not his body just his hamstring thats causing him problems and if the surgery fixes that, there is a good chance he’ll be healthy.
Slapping reece as mid isn’t an option since he’s way better than gusto as a defender. Have you already forgetting how Reece being in a team made us completely different side?? I love gusto and he’s doing great but he still doesnt have imapct that Recce did. And both are defenders not mids. Although mayve just maybe reece can since he’s passing and vision is actually decent.
The only way is we either sell reece or do rotations but i doubt the players will be happy about that.
@@rag4129 I know just how important Reece is to our team. Him, Chilly and Kante were the heartbeat of our team but all three became injury prone. His build is a very big reason his hamstrings give out, he’s too muscular. And I’m pretty sureI Reece was converted to a fullback for both his defensive and offensive to be utilized and exploited
And I know he just underwent surgery but players aren’t the same after surgeries. Look at Chilwell for example, he’s a shadow of his former self.

And I don't care what people say about Reece James, I love the guy, I really do, but the best ability is availability and Reece has not been available for at least last two seasons. Heck, there was a stat that show that he didn't play 3 games in a row since 2021, that's tough..

To me we should keep Gusto as the first choice RB, Reece playing either RW or Midfield. Gusto has been so good and together we have an incredible team.

How do you make a conclusion about he’s not got the goal threat of James when he’s got a higher goal contribution rate than James in all but one of James seasons. He has a better pass rate and big chances created. James first season he assisted one goal in a lot more consistent team. Gusto has also played more games than James has played in 2 and a half years. It’s time to move on from relying on a player who can only play 5 games before getting injured again.
