Basically, Hylas is the Greek version of a 'Lucky Bastard'
Fr😂
Not really, he chose a lesser pleasure in lieu of completing the great heroic journey. He spiritually failed.
He was literally assaulted and then drowned
I can't stop laughing at your comment. A short detail though: behind this myth there is probably some tragedy lurkin, since the legend of the women being alone in these stories, is about village women that they have lost their men to a fight and had to rely to the first stranger they met. Perhaps lucky for the guy, until he meets the killer neighbors.
women are alot desparate then than today
A Greek tale with a happy ending? That cant be right
🤣
@@SeeUinHistory please make a video animation explaining the mythology of the Witch named Jenny GreenTeeth please
Not for Hercules, he was very distraught looking for his son/friend. I haven't heard of the Hermes part before.
The other version is Hercules goes partially mad looking for his friend and Jason and the rest are forced to abandon him.
It's always some happy and some sad in Greek mythology 😮
Not many happy endings in Greek mythology. 🤷♂️
Argonauts had to be nerfed so Hercules is out
The painting of this scene is beautiful
Thanks!
I hate that Heracles departed from The Argonauts.
Show runners didn't know how to Nerf him 😂
He had other things to do
He had better things to do than hanging out with those nerds
He wouldn’t be the greatest Greek hero if he didn’t complete his labors.
Hercules was needed elsewhere, Jason had enough other gods sons to help him.
This where they lost Heracles.
I thought they didnt know if he drowned or lived with the nymphs, never heard of hermes' announcement before
Saw one with a sea god, another with Hera on the Argo. I like it better with a mystery (and the mystery is a happy ending for Hylas and his Naiad:)
Fun fact: Heracles only completed 4 of his labors before he joined the Argonauts. So in order for him to complete all 12 labors, Zeus ordered the nymphs to abduct Hylas in the pond to trick Heracles to split from the Argonauts so he can find his own way back to Mycenae and complete all his labors.
Did Hylas remain with the Nymphs?
Was he happy living with them?
Maybe not the best opportunity to hail the Naiades given the circumstances but I'll do it anyways. Hail the Naiades!
Imagine what Greek mythology would look like if the Greeks knew about the rest of the world imagine merging Japanese mythology with Greek mythology you would get plenty of fun stories😂
Interestingly enough there actually is Greek influence on some Japanese deities that came via Buddhism which picked up some things from the Greeks when Alexander the Great conquered Bactria. For instance, the Nio are muscular Buddhist deities in Japan that protect temples. They are muscular because Their iconography is rooted in the iconography of the Buddhist deity Vajrapani who was depicted as being muscular because of syncretism with Herakles. Look up Herakles-Vajrapani.
I wish I meet some Naiads tonight...!!!🤩🤩🤩
You know drowning is a painful way to die, right?
Plus none of your friends or family know that your alive and well, you pretty much got kidnapped by a divine being for her interests.
If you could still live on the surface and then go home to her every night....
Now we are talking 😊
Go get a girlfriend...
Thanks for the video

0:32 Alright Argonauts and crew land here to the island of Mya. Hercules and Hylas went to searched for an ideal tree for the new one. He tell Hylas to split up faster and meet again by a ship.
0:59 Hercules cut down strong tree and returned to the ship that Hylas had not yet arrive. All heroes went into the woods to loo for Hylas. He found jars that Hylas had carried.
1:26 Jason realized that there was no trace of struggle that Hylas had gone into the water and possibly drowned. Hercules didn't believe went in search of his friend.
1:42😍 Hylas arrived at the pond was not alone and behind a rock was a woman nymph fell in love when she saw him.😘 He was squatted down to taste that crystal clear water and was surprised by the Nyad's kiss in the lagoon waters. He saw the Nyad's sisters was pulled into the water toward an underwater cave by hold in her hands and Argonauts was never seen him again.
2:44 Hermes arrive to tell Argonauts the for Hylas should end for he was living happily among the nymph. Hercules was not to continue alongside the Argonauts and still on a mission to complete his 12 labors.
3:04 Jason ordered the Argonauts return to the ship heading toward destiny.
👏 Wow that was terrible and disappear with love story of The Saga of Jason and the Argonauts Ep 5 Hylas and the Naiads.
Dang! Love can be dangerous.
So how does the timeline of the argonautica takes place within the twelve labors of Heracles's story and timeline?
Augeas is one of the Argonauts and he literally is the guy who has the stables that needed to be cleaned so clearly this takes place before the fifth labor. My understanding is that it occurred during or after the fourth labor. We know it can't be after the labors because Herakles killed Augeas after the labors were done as revenge for not being paid for the fifth labor like Augeas agreed to do before he found out Hercules was serving Eurystheus
Yeah, it does. The Argonautica is like a side-quest for Heracles' main story
Lucky
More aowmse stories of legond
I named my cat after Hylas. When I call his name, I feel like Herc
Uuhm what's EREN JEAGER doin in here?
What a depressing story.

YOU GO HYLAS!!!
aha hercules still have the 12 labors missing insteresting
Hercules needs some chill pill 💊 😂man 😅😊
This resulting heracles slain lynx and the son of boreaus.
He also slain eryx son of Aprodhyte
According to the internet hylas and heracles were lovers and hylas was abducted by the nymphs
That is indeed true
Lovers in the Greek sense, not the gay western version
fake there is no mention of them being lovers in the actual myth
🤔❓️ wo wo wo Hold the phone How Can Hylas be Happy with naiads Humans Can't Breathe under water
Ummmm actually no the Argonauts story was after the labours of Heracles and there wasn't any story regarding someone named Hylas
Nope. He was still in the middle of his twelve labors, he just took a break from them. Look it up and you’ll see that while most of the twelve labors occurred first, the journey of Jason and the Argonauts took place somewhere in the middle.
@@Enterprise-D666 bruh nahhhhh Heracles and his labours were before the Argonauts story and he finished the labours and he went to help Jason
@@2prider451 I literally looked it up. It was split between the labors. Though to be fair, Greek Mythology isn’t exactly cut and dry. For example there’s the story of Athena’s birth and who was responsible for splitting Zeus’s head open. One version has it being the titan Prometheus who have humanity fire while another has it be the god Hephaestus. In the former, Hera became so upset that she literally gave birth on her own to Hephaestus.
There are many variations of Greek myths. For example in some versions of the Argonauts, Atlanta was on there and in other versions, Jason refused to let her join
Here's proof that the Argo campaign took place between the fourth and fifth labors
From Book 1 of the Argonautica by Apollonius of Rhodes
"Nor do we learn that Heracles of the mighty heart disregarded the eager summons of Aeson's son. But when he heard a report of the heroes' gathering and had reached Lyrceian Argos from Arcadia by the road along which he carried the boar alive that fed in the thickets of Lampeia, near the vast Erymanthian swamp, the boar bound with chains he put down from his huge shoulders at the entrance to the market-place of Mycenae; and himself of his own will set out against the purpose of Eurystheus; and with him went Hylas, a brave comrade, in the flower of youth, to bear his arrows and to guard his bow."
not the wild men dude replying to every comment
Hey another terrible Roman Version of a famous Greek Myth?! Heracles have took part at the Argonautic Campaign after he finished his 12 Labors.
No this was actually during the labours. Keep in mind, the labors lasted many years. It wasn't just some crazy weekend
@@wildmen5025 I know. It took him 11 years to finished them. After, he took part in Argonautic Campaign.
@@panos617 I found definitive proof. Here's a quote from Book 1 of Apollonius' Argonautica:
According to greek mythology, Hylas was Heracles' lover, not a son figure!!!!
nope
@@wankawanka3053 It's true, this is Ancient Greece, ever heard of Pederasty??? Also, they forgot to include Atalanta and Meleagros in the Argonauts!!!
