Matt, if you haven't continued playing this game, you NEED to. It is a beautiful game, seems to have an amazing storyline and great art as well as being an interesting and challenging experience. I'd say it feels sort of like the movie Interstellar in terms of drama, and it pulls off the story it's trying to tell masterfully. A well-engineered story, and the gameplay doesn't suffer in the least because of it.

It's like this game was partially inspired by Startopia, with the whole circular map design.

All these apocalypse and civilization building games make me think it’s a kind of useful subconscious resource and labor management training.
This bears no similarity to Ender's Game, I'm not sure why you would even suggest that, move along, NOTHING TO SEE.
@Real Civil Engineer Thought I would let you know that each jump does permanent damage to the ship and the damage over time also increases from them as well as you will want to make sure to have a lot of alloy factories in place. You can also enter a death spiral from overwork where accidents ramp up over all the main suggestion is to save before each jump just in case. At some point, I suggest you check out another game that was released yesterday on Steam Dwarf Fortress.
Yesterday i saw a proposed bridge with "decorative suspension cables" that where non load bearing and added an extra 150 tons of dead weight

Loving this game. It's very inspired by Frostpunk (another great game you should play on the channel, especially as it has a sequel coming out)
Assuming it follows the footsteps of Frostpunk, there may be laws that have to be put in place, sacrifices and it'll get harder as it goes.
I was thinking it looked like Frostpunk.

I am loving this new game I would be over the moon no pun intended if you would turn this into a series long-term like Timberborners
I love this game but it's SO tough. after the first few hurdles it gets easier, but I really dont want to admit the amount of times I've reloaded a save because I: forgot food; forgot iron for hull repair; forgot water for the food; forgot to build new housing; forgot electricity; forgot to send out probes for the mines; forgot about the weather moving & all my ships died; forgot to watch out for overwork; forgot--... I'm going to stop.
Good game though. Very enjoyable and not stressful at all

Game : "just go to the moon with your ship"
Player : (goes to the Moon ; arrives to it)
Game : "Great... but now, the moon is exploded, the earth is a lifeless wasteland, and the ship that supplied you is a wreck"

This game looks very similar to Startopia, except with some additonal stuff and not just building your station. Startopia was fun, so this game is probably pretty nice as well.

Hey if you like the story in this, check out "Seveneves" by Neal Stephenson. Everything he writes is great - a lot of it is highly-original Star-Wars style space opera - but Seveneves is set on a near-decommission International Space Station during a mission to evacuate Earth after the moon explodes. It goes to some crazy places.

You should play Black Skylands! Its a steampunk skyship type of game and you upgrade it and do different quests. Its a great indie game that could def fit you. It's available on steam.
As an American who listens to Brit's enough to enough to recognize and expect certain slang, feel like he was restraining himself from saying the word chuffed at the end (21:00). I can't even say I even know what chuffed actually means

the big problem with people saying that the water levels will rise is that they forget just how much temperature and water it would take to increase the water high enough to be of any actual concern
of course it would concern the high-rise buildings in coastal cities directly adjacent to the ocean, but i suspect it will rise no more than a few inches to a few feet, lest we have to adapt to temperatures so hot that they might boil current humans alive

Matt if you have an high apoapsis and an Löw periapsis auround the Sun you will get an ginormous gravity assist which would accelerate you so your Shop wasnt even able to be fällig in and would even be more effizient

I must admit, I feel like I've seen some variation of this game a dozen times already. Sometimes on the back of a dinosaur, sometimes on a moon, and this time on a space station. I don't feel like this is the innovation that moves the genre forward.

It is just like "Startopia" , same idea but much more complicated with better graphics ,exploration and different story , but it doesn't mean that this game is bad
Really hope that when the colony hears someone else is responsible for the destruction of humanity you gain a bunch of trust to outweigh the trust you lost, since they realize you were willing to take the blame when it wasn't your fault
That intro, for some reason, reminded me of Homeworld. Though with #3 announced every any space centric RTS makes me think of Homeworld.
So this is basically Frostpunk without the frost IN SPAAAAACE!
