    Still loving my Harman/Kardon big circle blue tooth with 2 mids , 2 tweeters , & a passive woofer it seems that can link or mate as well. Very happy as i got them discounted for $99 back then . 5 years old & still crisp kickin' tunes that i would love to compare.

    I have the original M18 job site radio which is mains, battery, battery charger and usb A. I used it all the time in the workshop and would take it to the garden for BBQs. I thought it sounded good, but then I bought a JBL 120 party box and it made the M18 radio look like a pair of headphones on a Walkman!
    That said these speakers have their place. The Milwaukee is beefy and I literally through it into the back of the jeep. The JBL is too good for that so even though the Milwaukee lacks bass and has other issues it’s very convenient with the m18 battery.
    These look nice and light compared to the one I have. Great review as always Clint, keep on rocking dude.

    I Bought a pyle " PWMA325BT" 500 watt portable bluetooth karaoke machine style radio with an 8 or 10 inch subwoofer and 2 tweeter. bought a m18 compatable 18 volt to 12 volt adapter and wired it into my speaker and attached that to the back of the speaker. took it apart, painted it ed black and white, vand put milwaukee logos on it. everyone wants it but its custom and its got BOOMING BASS. i could play all night long on a 5ah battery on medium volume

  • @kenc9162
    @kenc9162 Před měsícem +3

    Great job.
    Bass needs a bit more current and sweet sweet wattage. The built in amp might be at its limit at those 75% plus levels, I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s some compression/protection circuitry going on to make the most of things and not break at the same time.
    I’ve found most of these jobsite radios (all brands)cool ideas, but often 2 to 3 times the size and price of some consumer options like Anker or JBL bluetooth speakers with built in batteries. Would love to hear how these hold up to the typical Amazon gadgets at similar price points.

      Brotha man Ken...100% agree brother. I may actually look at some Amazon radios just to see. Thanks for the feedback 😎👊👊👊

    • @ndoc8889
      @ndoc8889 Před měsícem

      Pretty typical for most battery and Bluetooth speakers. Avoids clipping the amp and low frequencies require a bulk of the power when you start to increase the volume. Most manufacturers will nerf frequencies below a certain frequency (varies depending on the speaker and amplifier) to prevent the user from burning up voice coils and amps while increasing clean output above the manufacturers chosen frequency. Net result is the speaker’s high frequency output will increase and the bass will essentially remain stagnant but clean as you turn up the volume.
      Interestingly, this is very common practice in most modern vehicles as well.

    Okay the verse speakers take the W here. Sound quality is alright on both, I got a 3 pack of verse speakers for 100, throw some old ryobi batteries in, don't care about their run time becsuse these use such little power who cares, and they auto link to eachother when you power them on. Plus they got the base unit with a 50w sub coming, and it's got an FM radio, so I can have my fm radio and a bunch of these little speakers if I didn't want to use my phone.
    Weird how milwaukee accessory tools like lights speakers and fans are simply inferior to the ryobi ones across the board.

    I’m kind of surprised that the difference in battery life from 50% to 100% isn’t even more, because if I remember right, in general, it takes 10 times the power to make twice the volume. So 10 Watts is only twice as loud as one watt, and 100 watts is only twice as loud as 10 watts. I’m not sure, but the only thing I can think of why it isn’t only six hours at 100% volume and 60 hours at 50% volume, is because of how much the bass drops off like you said. It probably takes more wattage to run the woofer than the tweeter, so maybe they made it lose bass at high volumes to extend the battery life. I don’t know, but if that’s what they did, I wish they hadn’t. I’d rather keep the better sound at high volume and just swap the battery a little more.

  • @james2042

    Also building an 18v corded adapter for these "lifestyle" things like speakers, lights and fans is not super difficult to do. They'll never run a drill, but you can easily take an 18v 6A adapter and splice the leads to an old battery board and the tool will run just fine as long as it doesn't draw more than 6A (most of these lifestyle tools run 1-4A). I actually built an adapter for the ryobi workbench light because I use it 80% of the time over my bench but I do like to grab and go sometimes. I'm debating on making a semi-permenant 18v wiring for my verse clamp speakers in my garage as that's where they live 80% of the time. 6A would be more than enough to power 3 of these speakers and I'd just need to rig some wire up and get some 5 dollar battery cases

    @user-ov8mz9kf3n Před měsícem

    i remember hearing something about breaking in speakers. heres what i gathered.
    i bought a mini fender amp and was looking into how i could upgrade the speakers and i read that you actually need to put in like 80 or so hours into a speaker at basically full volume to wear in the components to get the true sound out of the speaker
    so what im saying here is, although the sound quality is dog shit at full volume, if you keep that up for a while, theres a good chance the speaker will chill tf out and stop squeaking those high frequencies

    Maybe mixing them so you get more of a 3D sound and the PART AY' is on.
    Use two different cellphones, one Bluetooth to the Mil and the other cell to the RYOBI.
    Then get your song ready and start the song on both cellphones at the same time.
    Then move the RYOBI ones around but near the MW ones to get the best spot.
    Maybe put the MW about 10 to 15 feet apart.
    Then set the RYOBI speakers 3 feet from each of the MW speakers.
    Then try the RYOBI speakers about 10 to 15 feet from the MW ones and back away more.

    it sounds like it performs like the old radio they had on the ni-cad battery, it actually had a 12 volt car cigarette lighter outlet and input, a cord or of course it ran o 18 volt batteries. had rockford fosgate speakers and what looked like a roll cage lol. tyat thing kicked ass. it was pretty loud for its actual size, and it had decent bass, if you adjusted the equalizer, and the sound quality was incredibly clear-like you could hear it for a long distance away, kinda, im not sure of the exact physics, but that thing was always an extra impressive radio to me. was before bt though. had to use aux port.

      @@ToolReviewZoneSorry Brother I made a mistake on my last post. I swear a 3 .75 inch speaker is a mid range and not bass speaker. The frequency response of the mid-range speaker looks like it includes some bass frequencies but cannot handle them at the upper power output of the blue tooth device. It looks like they digitally limit the bass for longevity of the speaker system. I have a pair 35 year old Cerwin Vega speakers with 12-inch bass speakers and still kick backside to this day.
