I'm a designer based in NYC, but my friend is a model based out in LA. She was telling me about this the other day, and it makes me wonder if the fashion industry is really where I want to express my creativity with how much darkness, secrecy, and flat out wickedness goes on behind all the glitz and glamour they portray on the runways.
I studied fashion design in Los angeles some years ago. I had a teacher of mine in "pattern making" share HER story with us in class about how she kidnapped by a Fashion Designer.
She showed up to the fashion designer's, she thought that it was a routine "drop & collect" on her invoice. She was ready to be paid for the patterns she drafted.
They asked her to wait in a room.
They locked her in that room, would not answer her, nor open the door😳. They kept her there for at least 4 hours.
She found a window that was near the fire escape. She left her purse and patterns behind along with her car keys and climbed out, went AND called the police and came back with the Police.
She basically told the police to have the designer unlock the door, and there was her purse, keys, and patterns.
That Fashion Designer was arrested and charged with kidnapping.
She said unfortunately dealing with Designers in LA and that she often faced REAL DANGER in the fashion industry. It was very dangerous "all the time", she went on to LEAVE THE INDUSTRY BEHIND and teach for a living because she just couldn't handle the dark encounters that she had OFTEN faced as a young pattern maker.
This Woman was a BEAUTIFUL afro-latina. She could have easily been a model herself.

If the police is so hush hush about both situations it seems like they are covering someone very powerful within the industry. This is sickening and so disheartening.

Most likely by the hands of a man. Luxury apartments? Must have video surveillance right? Ladies, please be safe when meeting new people/dating. Stay away from your home: people you don’t know well not knowing where you live is for your safety. Meeting up with someone: send your people, family or friends, their information in case something goes wrong. Taking pictures of license plates, make, model and color of cars. Maybe even getting enough information about a person to do a background check before even meeting. This is so sad. Please be safe out here y’all.
absolutely personlly i would never be on a dating site. too many weirdos. however, they tell them to never ever bring anybody to your home . preferably wait a year and meet in places with people and if possible have a friend with you and follow you. take picture s of the car the license plates take pictures of everything, leave as much of a digital print as possible

Yep! When I met my man I was excited but hesitant regardless . I googled him & when I first went to his town (40 min from mine) I told my cuzzin with who and where & my dad the same info, as well leaving my location drop on my phone to show him my exact location in real time . Thankfully, I’ve been right and he’s not a “bad guy” but u jus can’t be too sure in this day ! I have kids too so I felt that to be esp important , knowing who I was dealing with .
When I hear the word luxury I think, fully loaded with modern technology. So why didn’t these luxury apartments have cameras, both visible and hidden-for security purposes. Hopefully the detectives are withholding information from the public so that the perpetrator doesn’t flee the area.
I am learning the laws of my state, arming myself and going to the range. Black women are in danger everywhere😢😭 RIP to Meleesa and Nicki🙏🏾
I went to middle school, high school & junior college with Nikki Coats 😢 I’m so lost for words right now. I’m shaking and my heart is aching currently. It’s such a tragedy.
She was the sweetest thing, smart, talented and just a darling overall even back when she was a teenager. Wow. My deepest condolences to both families during this turbulent time. 🥺🙏🏽

This is why when I date, I tell ALL OF MY FAMILY who I’m going with. I show pictures and all. Car plates, full names and everything. DONT GO ON DATES WITH MEN WHO WANT TO BE CALLED BY A NICKNAME.😩😔 This is so sad.

honestly same! i’m big on telling all friends, showing pictures of the man, describing what he drives/where he’s from, where/what we’re doing for our date, and sharing my location! i’m glad i’ve successfully gotten most of the people i’m close to in my life to share their location with me because it’s better to be safe than sorry. it’s tragic how hyper alert we have to be.
1. Screenshot their dating profiles and msgs between you both. 2. Before meeting them take a pic of what you're wearing and tell someone where you're going.
3. Send your date pic & their profile info+phone # (even if using WhatsApp) to several people you trust BEFORE meeting them. 4. Don't let strangers pick you up at home OR give them your address for Uber. If you do use a ride share that he pays for, go somewhere else nearby your home.
5. Last not least, ladies, BW, of ALL ages, we are targets. We really need to take self-defense classes, learn ground maneuvers & stay limber & agile to get away. Carry mace & PowPow💥be ready to F!RE and not miss!!!

I definitely think that the deaths of these two beautiful young women are connected. It's no coincidence that they're the same age, were in the same industry, and lived in the same area. The police will deny the possibility of a serial unaliver because BW are not a priority for them. There was one targeting BW in St Louis MO, and the police ignored it.

Too many similarities definitely related and if not it's still alarming. Coates mom gave me chills and I believe her when she said she will find who did this and they messed with the wrong person.
Omg the news clip of the mom crying hysterically was so heartbreaking. I felt every word she said from the hurt to the “you messing with the wrong person”.
As stated previously, in a luxury apartment, wouldn't there be some kind of surveillance even in the hallways? A doorman in the lobby. The ladies have cell phones they can investigate, so unless there's an outside point of entry, they must have something to work with. It also may be someone in the vicinity that could have eyes on them or even a resident of the building. I don't think the police are sharing all they know.
Where is the camera footage? What dating app, can they track it?
So they haven't looked at cameras in the buildings or surrounding areas yet??? My intuition is telling me it a whyte man and they're protecting him. The mother said she is unrecognizable and the aunt said her legs were in a strange position but they haven't declared it a homicide yet??? Who did she go on the date with? So they can't get into her phone???🤔🤔🤔🤨
The circumstances are just too similar for it to be a coincidence or unrelated. There has to be link between the two. I’m eagerly waiting for a update on these cases.

Wow! Never heard from these stories. They were so beautiful! It's crazy that no one knows who the young woman went on a date with. There has to be some info on her cellphone, text messages, phone call logs that can be retrieved even if the killer deleted them. So scary!

Ladies please always share your location with someone you trust before going on these dates and tell said person the guy's name, picture and share his socials! Times are getting crazy out here and you cant put anything past anyone, regardless of how they present themselves! I always make sure to let my friends where I'm going on a date, with whom and I tell them that I'll let them know when I get home safely. Smh. This def sounds like a serial k*ller to me.

I think it's someone they both knew & possibly the same killer. Maybe someone seeking model like women to date then target. People in LA always seemed fake to me. Black female models, actresses, and anything dealing with social media etc. in LA need to be on extreme high alert! Stop going on dates etc. for a while, arm yourselves(in whatever way is legal in LA), always go out with others, and/or ALWAYS let people know where you are at at all times. Just in case this is a serial k*ller, it's so important to be on HIGH alert and in defense mode. I don't want to scare everyone, but do not have the "it could never be me" chill mindset. I pray protection over all the black women in LA and I rebuke the murderer/murderers.

It seems as if one was a homicide. Likely confirmed by CCTV and the other seems unrelated. Possibly a su1cide if she didn't have ongoing health issues. After a week, they'd know whether a cause of death is suspicious or not or if anyone went into her apartment during the time she stopped answering her phone. Either way both are sad situations and you need to be extra careful on dating apps and meeting people who no one in your immediate circle has ties to.

I think only one death is believed to be a homicide. The police will see who was close to the one murder victim and investigate them first. It's too early to tell if this is a serial killer situation. But please only be around people without violent or criminal histories.
