I just seriously wish that Nintendo would make a collection of the Mario and Luigi games and put them on Switch. Or sell remastered versions of each.
I don't think they could remaster Bowser's Inside Story on Switch without completely changing how the Giant Bowser's fights work. Which I think is why they rushed making the remake on 3DS before it completely died.
Potential answer: have the game be set where the game orientation is sideways and to have something similar to the 3DS, two coded screens meant to function just like the 3DS! A bottom screen for touch screen and the top as for usual. DS and, potentially, 3DS games could come back and we might not know it!!!

If it was on switch I'm guessing it'd be a normal twin-stick + gyro control scheme, I think the weird controls were only there because of the 3DS not really having a much better control scheme

They really could've released all three games as a a triple pack, but _no._ That would be _TOO_ much of a bargain and Nintendo wouldn't make as much _MONEY_ that way.
I suppose they could still release TP and WW in a pack alongside Ocarina and Majora, but at this point I feel like if Nintendo doesn't want the release of SSHD or BOTW2 to feel awkward, we'll have to wait a while for that. If we're even getting it at all.
Also I don't know how much people I'll reach out to buy saying this but Nintendo's unwillingness to release old games should tell you that there's still value in owning a Wii U, and that it still isn't too late to buy one.
@@Lymington214 I see more like a package of WW & TP in one. Nintendo won't give u 4 games all in one and actually I prefer to get a proper remaster like the Wii U ones than an emulated collection the Mario 3D all stars
I suspect those two will be ported together in 2023 or 2024. This year's zelda is skyward sword. Next year is BOTW2. After that it is up in the air. I think it COULD be these two together, or maybe one or the other perhaps? Other than that maybe some new "2d zelda" the kind Arlo prefers and wishes would be more like the older ones. But I think between WiiU ports being good sellers and other zelda games ripe for remakes and the potential for a new "2d zelda" game, I don't see these happening at all, but perhaps being saved for the next console cycle.

When it comes to remaking Golden Sun, the easiest example I can think of would be Dragon Quest 3"s remake that uses the graphical style of Octopath Traveler
Golden Sun and the Camelot Shining games have a certain look to them. Dragon Quest 3 and Octopath Traveler have more of a snes pixelated RPG look, whereas Camelot RPGs are kinda shiny looking.
The HD 2D look is the definitive way to remaster 2D pixel art games imo.
I want Grezzo to remake 1 and 2 as a single title.

It would be great to see a version of that game that actually is playable for the left-handed. However, knowing Nintendo, they'd probably find a way to make the remaster even more unplayable for the left-handed.

Pokemon Colosseum/XD doesn't exist according to Nintendo, despite all the stuff they covered for the anniversary if I remember right these were left out.
I'd be amazed if Nintendo would ever consider these... as good of games as they were they sadly probably won't...

ive been playing them recently on my 3ds and wow, so good. Nintendo is missing out on an even bigger gold mine, by not re-releasing their entire library.

Super Paper Mario wasnt supposed to break the series formula in the first place, it was a one off spin off that was originally planned for the gamecube. That was before Tanabe started directing the series...

I’d love for some of Fe games to get this treatment. Fe4, Fe6 and the Tellious games would be fantastic as Fe4 and Fe6 are Japan only while the Tellious games cost over $300
FE 4/5 would be good candidates for total remakes and while I think 6/7 would make good candidates for a simple port (and translation for 6) if Nintendo wanted Advance Wars 1 & 2 remade rather than ported I can't imagine that they wouldn't do the same for 6/7. The Tellius games would make excellent candidates for a simple port/remaster though.
Hopefully genealogy is next up to be remade. They’ve been going in order so far
I would love love love a remaster of Fantasy Life for the 3DS-- the whole switching between multiple jobs system to hone all your skills and collect different things was done so well.

I'm seeing that one a lot in the comments. Personally, I don't see the appeal. I felt like Uprising wasn't very good but clearly a remaster would make a lot of people happy so I support it.
I know it's not Arlo's thing, so I understand why it's not here, but god damn it just give us Xenoblade X on switch already. It's the only notable Wii U exclusive still left. Just... let people play it. It's such a good game and Mira is a joy to explore
Yeah exactly what I said as well. If we get Xenoblade X on switch, the switch is then the perfect console for playing Xenoblade games. It's also the only one I can't play because I don't have a Wii U.

I would really love a Kid Icarus: Uprising remaster on the switch upscaled with gyro aiming. I bought it on the 3ds and played it a bit, but ultimately struggled with the poor control scheme and gave up. However I would DEFINITELY play the hell out of a switch version.
So for golden sun, octopath traveler graphics? They did that for dragon quest 3 and it looks amazing.

The 2D-HD thing is exclusive for Square Enix games though. However Nintendo could do something similar.

@@larsnyman2455 Well, if it is what I am thinking it is, it's actually tough to give an answer to that question. Not because it is difficult to explain, but because it is a core mechanic of that game and is best served by experiencing it.
It's similar to games like Undertale and DDLC in that the best way (debatably) to enjoy the games is to experience it as blind as possible to get the full effect.

Yes; Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn absolutely need remasters so that more people can experience them; they were fantastic game that never had a chance at selling well because they were Fire Emblem games made before 2012/2013.
As for Kid Icarus, it would be good to see a version of that game that left-handed people can actually play (though, given Nintendo's track record, they'd inevitably find a way to make the game somehow *more* unplayable for the left-handed).

I don't often say that I want a remaster/rerelease of something, but I would give my left bollock to have SMRPG on the snes library on nintendo online. If they remaster if, nintendo can have the other bollock too

I’m super happy to see arlo mention golden sun. I’ve been wanting to see that series come back for years now, and I think a remaster or remake of the first two games is exactly what it needs
Also, I know they made Okami again for the Switch, but there was a sequel called Okamiden for the DS and I'd LOVE for that to get the attention and remaster that it deserves.

Having all four “Renaissance Era” Kirby games on one system would be incredible, but at this point I think most of us just want something new from the series. We already got a great send-off in the form of Star Allies and its post-launch content, so we could go a little while until a hypothetical “Dream Collection 2.”

Yeah, I would love it too, but here's a little tip for you:
Do not ever expect too much from Nintendo, or else they'll never release it, just like the Nintendo Switch Pro.
They released OLED instead and nothing has changed except for the large screen and "better graphics in hand-held"...

Super paper Mario was my first paper Mario game. I was really confused when I first got it, expecting the thousand year door (don’t ask) ended up finishing it and I do really like it. Holds a special place in me.

I agree with FE PoR and RD; PoR is my favourite video game of all time.
As for Kid Icarus Uprising, it would be nice to see a version of the game that's actually playable for the left-handed. But, given Nintendo's track record, they'd probably somehow find a way to make the remaster still play terribly for the left-handed.
I personally feel it would be so wrong to do another Majora's Mask remake without doing another Ocarina of Time remake as well. The two games really go hand in hand imo. That's just how I feel though. Personally, in terms of Zelda games, since Oot and MM already got remasters, I'd rather have a Minish Cap remaster.

Yoshis wooly world was so good and the switch only has poopies crafted world :(
Crafted World is good in it's own right. The artstyle, while not inherently an issue, is a little stale after Wooly World. But what I will say is that I prefer Wooly World, as Crafted World is best played when you know what you're looking for, or at least know in what kinds of places to look, and isn't all too fun on a blind run. To me, souvenir hunting and looking up where the normal side collectibles are is where the real fun is, and much less irritating. and it shouldn't be that way. It's good, just not great like Wooly World, or the original Yoshi's Island.
I personally think Crafted World was pretty great. The 100% completion stuff definitely isn't worth doing, but going through each of the levels is like a dream

Crafted World sucked. The levels may have looked okay graphically but if I recall correctly it was stuck at 720p so it just as a whole didn’t look that good. The level themselves were either very boring or the epitome of “whatever”. Not a very good game, especially when you can get so much better platformers like Tropical Freeze on the switch already.

And yeah the level design was a little boring, but still really fun in its own way. It's just more of a reeled back relaxing game compared to its predicessors.
The one game I want the most on Switch is Kirby Air Ride. Imagining the fun chaos that would be online City Trial makes me want it even more!

Golden Sun please. Absolutely one of the best underrated RPGs to ever exist.
tbh the story is so basic you could neutralize an acid with it. However the gameplay was FANTASTIC. It was an RPG mixed with a metroidvania, what a goddamn amazing game.

It’s also one of those rare games where your save data can be imported from the first game to the second, due to its Pokémon like feature of collecting “dijins” that strengthens your power.
Collecting all also unlocks a special dungeon that completing it grants you the most powerful summon in the game! Well worth the effort. One of the few games I ever 100 precented!
I would love for kid icarus uprising to get a remaster for switch, it would look absolutely gorgeous in HD

F-Zero GX is great but I've always had difficulty playing it due to all of the colours flashing by so quickly and a lot of things simply blending together on some stages. I'm not even epileptic either. A remaster with a lot of options to address visual impairments and maybe fine tune a few of the stages would be amazing for the game since if you suffer from those problems it's kind of impossible to play them.
@@QwertyCaesar In my experience, X is a lot easier for newcomers to get into as it’s novice difficulty is a lot easier than GX’s novice difficulty. So GX and it’s “visuals” make a lot more sense when you look at it as a sequel to X.
That said, I’ve heard the same kind of complaints from another F-Zero fan. And I think X would be a good choice for you to try out.
I don’t have a list I just wanted to add the comment that with the remasters of advance wars 1&2 packed together on switch which was totally awesome and out of last field that maybe there is a small chance of the same thing happening with golden sun 1&2 which would also be totally awesome and great list Arlo your videos are always very fun to watch!!

Well if you really sit down and think about it paying $60.00 plus tax for a Nintendo switch port is a way better deal compared to buying the original version for over $100 and up! 😭
Plus it would give new gamers a chance to play a classic game without breaking the bank with that I would love to see a few games make a come back.

The latter is well know for classic games like No More Heroes, Killer 7 and the Silver Case series!
Why did this never get localized? Well the original had a ton of bugs and it was never decided who would fix them as Nintendo and Bandai didn't agree to fix it.
Currently it is in limbo. 😢
Those are a few games I want to see come to the Switch and the fact that Disaster Report:Summer of Memories and Fatal Frame Maiden of the Blackwater is finally getting localized gives me hope.

They just never brought it to NA. Which, apparently, was due to poor sales elsewhere.

It’s simple: Nintendo should offer a service to make the entire library always accessible. Make a horribly pricey subscription model, I still pay it. Maybe with a subscription + model to play the Remakes.
not in a million years. thats also why they dont do compilations [save for that bs limited release that was missing games]...if they made it easy for everyone to always get their games one time, they wouldnt be able to charge every 3-6 years for the same stuff. nintendo been re-releasing their same games and ideas since the wii/ds into the wii u/switch and 3ds...theyre still re-releasing stuff from that era on switch now. how about some new games? or remakes of ones that matter, like golden sun. nobody wants another fuckin wario ware game lol
Since Nintendo and Marvel now have their partnership with MUA3, I think it’d be great if they could get their hands on the games activision made in the series and upgrade them for Switch.

Only one that checks out is Prime Trilogy. the Wii remote and nunchuck is to Fundamental to Prime 3's Controls. Prime devs already said they couldn't even start to think how they could translate it to switch, but here's hoping someone thinks of something. I could see a 1+2 pack, but it would feel incomplete without Corruption.

@@jonathanwest8415 I mean; couldn't they simply remap the pointer controls to the gyro (and, unlike Mario Galaxy on Switch, make it that you can choose to map those pointer controls to either the right gyro or the left)? It's not as fast or reliable as the IR pointer was, but I don't see how it wouldn't work.
@@matthewmuir8884 Devs touched on this point too, I just didn't mention it because I did on another comment. Gyro would be bad for a game like Prime 3 because it requires precision to shoot where you want to shoot, which is something the Switch's gyro can't give. it worked well in BotW because when you ready an arrow, you only need to make minute changes to hit your target, and it usually takes about a second or less to aim at a general target. If you mess around with the gyro shrine puzzles, you can quickly notice that the Joy-con and the object your rotating will desync. having that be game-wide would quickly become annoying, if not infuriating. Going back to dual stick wouldn't be good for prime 3 either because too much of the game is centered around the Z-target and the arm cannon's reticle separated. This include not only the lever and energy cell segments, (which could probably benefit from gyro tbh.) but many enemies and major bosses too. (you can't even target Ridley in the fight on Norion. the challenge comes from aiming, if gyro would cause a desync, it turns a fun challenge into a mess.)
All this to say, I still hope someone thinks of something. I love the Prime Trilogy, and want it to be more accessible, so I hope someone can make the series an enjoyable experience on the only respected Nintendo console since the NES. This just describes what I think won't work, not saying nothing will. A rerelease wouldn't affect me much though, since I have a working copy of Trilogy on Wii U VC. It would be nice for more people to like the series though.

@@jonathanwest8415 Well, you said so yourself that gyro aim is best-suited for the small, finer aiming that control sticks struggle a lot with. Gyro aim is really more meant to supplement the second stick, rather than replace it. They could perhaps have it like the aiming in Breath of the Wild: you use the stick for the big movements and then the gyro for the small corrections. But I admit that I don't know nearly enough about Prime 3 to know if that's a good idea or not.
That said, I've seen people claim that it's possible to emulate the series and replace the pointer with a gyro with it still working well.
Arlo, you are so right! I love Mario Kart: Double Dash! I played it with my bro on the gamecube and it was so much fun! Such a unique game from the other games in the series! Every other game is only 1 player in 1 kart.

Raycons are fine, they're just very expensive considering the average quality. No company could afford the mass influencer marketing that Raycon do and also make a fantastic value product.
For me it's up to the consumer to do their research and be cynical about most brands that sponsor influencers

@@mxttstrxfe Isnt the remake of the fourth game, you miss 1 - Shadow and the Flame - 3D, in development hell? Beside that we miss Warrior Within. But that game was a mess. They gave you the decision to go the way you want. But when you do that and dont follow the developers path the game just breaks and you cant finish.
Aaaand the Sands of Time remake is "on hold" aka probably cancelled :(

Sonic Advance Remastered Trilogy. You don’t even need to change the graphics to be 2.5D as the GBA graphics hold up well in my opinion. All you have to do is simplify the process of getting to special stages (cut down the medals in Advance 2 from 7 to 3, make it so one special key keeps the special springs unlocked forever so we can keep retrying without having to farm keys all over again) and update the special stages themselves with full 3D graphics like in Sonic Mania. Also, keep the soundtracks the same, they are already amazing.

I was recently talking on twitter about what you brought up when it comes to Golden Sun and visuals. I really do wish they'd keep this particular style, of older 3D where everything is rounder and colorful, almost claymation-like, while still a bit gritty in places (ennemies mostly). Higher res sprites could be nice, but with the power we have nowadays I could really see it being done in full real-time 3D. The switch can certainly handle these kinds of models, and you could play around with lighting and particle effects, make the whole original art style pop. Think of it like a less glossy Link's Awakening outside of battles.
I'd love for The Last Story to get the Xenoblade treatment. Also, I don't think a straight port of the WiiU version Windwaker to Switch is too much to ask for. Honestly still shocked they didn't chuck Skyward and WW together in a double pack like they did with OoT and MM way back when.
It bothers me that Top Tens are "old school" now.
Starfox Adventures was one of my earliest games I ever had, being a 7 year old when it came out, and I fucking loved it. Yeah, it was a big departure from what people grew to know Starfox as, but still, it had such excellent atmosphere, great music, and great locations. The combat was lacklustre though.

Idk why they won't just do it. Cheap project and good PR too. Are they just scared of some of Mother 3's "offensive" humor? That's the only thing I can think of.
@@rogan4338 a big reason why is because sales. Basically everyone who wants can already play all the games, including Mother 3. They think it would be a waste of time to remake them when everybody who wants can just play them. But I think if they do good job advertising it, it could be a big success. Plenty of people know Ness and Lucas from smash and find them interesting, I think the series has great potential to appeal to a lot more people, and the switch is getting more people into the games that mainly the hardcore Nintendo fans play.

Kirby’s Return to Dreamland and Kirby Epic Yarn were my childhood games. To play them in HD would be amazing. Also Kirby Planet Robobot and Kirby Triple Deluxe are two amazing games stuck on the 3Ds.
