double tapping the power button opens the camera, not taking photos, also again thats not dedicated to a function
NonsensicalVids Double taping the power button/Pressing the power button twice, *is* dedicated to a function....it's the *Quick Launch Camera* function???....any of their devices still with a physical home button, does this by pressing the Home Button twice instead.
If taking a pic is your issue, in the app you can select your floating button or choose the volume keys(or the power key, I think) to take a pic, or tap the heart rate sensor....out of the app, you can create a shortcut to any of the photo-modes you please, tell Bixby(who you don't need to tell "Hi" anymore unlike "Hey" used by others) to take a regular shot or selfie(of course with a 5 second countdown timer).....so I don't get....why add a dedicated button when you have these already???
i think you're completely overlooking what i'm asking. dedicated button/assigned button. as in a button which can be used for the camera shutter in a better position than the volume rocker etc, is what would be nice. and also sony have a dedicated camera button on their devices specifically for taking photos. thats what its for. you seem to confuse, taking photos with opening an app

I went from s5 to s8+ and just now got an s9+

Also iPhone users: iOS 11 bugs, battery dies after a year, messy notifications, broken screen, compromises, couldn't type a capital I for 2 weeks, spent $1000 for an emoji machine, no expandable storage, only comeback is blurry camera

it's unusual to find 'disable' on long press on android. It's always been on iPhone as uninstall.

That "show control on top" button actually ads your brightness slider to your 6 quick settings, so you can change the brightness after swiping your notifications down once, instead of having to swipe down twice first
My wife and I just upgraded from S4 to S9, lots of information to understand and learn. Videos like this, beats buying any book, and still not understand what's going on....thanks for these videos..

If you have a suggestion how to fix an issue with the CZcams app. If I'm watching video while running on the treadmill, the vibration triggers the option menu, i.e., the Player, and right

Same! Samsung's UI used to be so ugly a few years ago, but it's so elegant and simple now. They definitely listened to feedback! (That, and they're going with the general trend of UI design)

To get to the second lot of quick settings panel you don't need to pull it down twice. You just use two fingers to pull down the panel - a double finger pull down swipe - and pull it all the way down.
When you toggle the brightness slider option to 'Show control on top' it means the slider will show on screen just below the first six quick setting buttons when you do your first pull down on that panel. When it is not toggled the brightness button doesn't show on the first pull down but shows on the second (or double finger) pull down. The toggle does not mean the brightness slider is to go to the top of the quick settings panel.

The best thing about the S9 is the camera Pro Mode. If you don't know how to use it then learn how. It's not hard to use once you get the hang of it (I didnt have a clue when i first got it, but learned quickly). It will change everything about your photos that you take.

How do i view the lock screen without directly unlocking and skipping to my home screen? When i press the power button it directly scans my face and goes to the home screen but i want to view my lock screen notifications?? Thanks!

Yeah, Android is definitely for more at least semi-tech savvy people. iPhones are good for older folks and people who don't like/know how to customize a lot of their phone's features. They're nice and simple.
Not all grand parents or Great Grandparents are built alike just like all young people are not!! Am 82, just got my 2nd Android (SSS9) and wouldn't have it any different. Had I phone first several years ago...didn't offer enough. Love my new S9....been using the S5 for several years.

Pretty great screen on time!! Just 7% drain for 38mins(note the clock at start was 2:30pm and it ends at 3:03pm), that's an easy 6-7hrs SOT on a full charge
