I ❤ Bobbie. She hardly ever got the credit she deserved. Most of the time she was bashed on here for daring to criticize Laura (as if we'd ever expect Barbara Jean to do anything but side w/her big brother), but hardly ever praised for her big heart and how whenever truly needed she was always there for her family (as in this great scene w/Laura), no matter what.
I mean honestly, they should have known something was up when the report came back as an accident by way of candles. It truly was absurd for someone as smart and savvy as Lucky to have done something like that- if that doesn't tell you it was all faked I'm not sure what else it would take. Genie and Tony were the greatest actors on any soap - no one has ever come close to the level they were on as well as Jonathan Jackson. It's what made it all so special ;)
Jonathan Jackson decided to leave GH during this time and I believe thats why he was recast. I respect Young and Vaughn in their attempt to take over, but I believe that a big part of the magic of Jackson as Lucky was how bonded GF, AG and JJ were together as JJ grew up. It was always so easy to forget they were actors playing a family and not a real life family acting out a story. I think those in charge of GH have also come to realize there is no other Lucky Spencer than JJ which is why they have not tried to replace him since JJ reprised the role later on after Vaughn.
I actually thought Jacob Young did an excellent job taking over the role. He eventually won a Daytime Emmy for his portrayal of the character in 2002 and was offered a 3 year contract extension to remain in the role, but chose to leave after a low ball money offer.
I thjnk its inexcusable for Luke not to be there for Laura when Lucky dies. When you have a significant loss you need to be there. Lucky was both of their son. Between Lukes attempted murder of Katherine and him leaving Laura to fend for herself after Lucky's death, she should have never gotten back together with him.
As Luke told Lesley, "grief + grief = more grief." Everyone always talks about poor Laura, but hardly consider what Luke was going through at this time. Besides the loss of his cowboy he was still hurting about Laura dating his enemy. As Laura told Bobbie when Ruby died a couple months earlier (more grief/pain Luke wasn't over yet), it'd be more painful for Luke if she was around. Besides, it wasn't as if Laura was alone. She had Lesley, Nikolas, and of course Stefan.
stethen nichols seems lost in his role about how his character should act in all the beautiful protrayed grieving emotions and haunted saddness of laura.
Stefan states later that he didn't know what to do for Laura because he'd never had a child die and knew he truly couldn't understand her grief. He did the best he could by just being there for her.
Lucky didn't have a silver spoon lucky knew who his father was Nicky's father couldn't tell him he was his father because he was using him to steal the silver spoon
What is with GH and having the morning, grieving character trashing the room and throwing away the stuff of the deceased !?! Luke did it when Laura was dead (taken by the Cassidines) he even took her pink feather dress and his wedding ring and threw them off the Haunted Star, into the harbor. Holly trashed the stateroom on the Haunted Star when she thought that Luke died in and avalanche. Laura trashed Lucky's room Luke trashes and throws out Lucky's stuff. Never once have I or anyone I have known trashed, thrown, ripped, boxed up loved ones things within days of the knowledge of their death.
Buzzy'sHelper trashing a loved ones room or throwing out the loved ones stuff is their way of getting rid of the anger especially when their child is the one who died! Some parents commit suicide or drink and or take drugs Laura and Luke’s way was also getting rid of the anger Luke and Laura’s age and the age of the child also plays a real big part of grieving to me Luke and Laura grief was played perfectly

@@lynnmoore7029 I think it was around a year before he came back, but yes he did come back as a recast with Jacob Young in the role of Lucky. Jonathan Jackson had decided to leave to pursue other acting opportunities but came back in the role of Lucky from 2009-2011 and small stint on the show in 2015. I'm hoping he decides to come back again so we can have quality scenes with Lucky and Laura.
Grief has no limits, no bounds. Everyone has to grieve in their own way for however long it takes to get to the point of facing each day anew and knowing it's time to move forward even if we don't want to.
Right. We cherish and protect anything with their DNA remaining on it. I saw this as something attributed to Luke and his dysfunctional grieving. Because Luke doesn’t function like the rest of the world and I have always been grateful for that although I don’t quite understand. Didn’t Gloria tell Genie, “Laura is fascinated by Luke.” ❤️❤️❤️

I just got to say the whole way thur this it taking everything in me to keep from crying my heart out for them. Even knowing he is still alive.
I think Laura is slowly getting seriously ill, she keeps coughing on and off since Lucky died.
