Wrong setting of carburetor or Dirt in carburetor can result to incorrect functioning of engine and potentially damage it.

I have a Aprilia SR50R CARB. Im trying to find the problem with it. It starts fine and runs when it’s up on the stand. But when it’s on the ground it has no power to move forward. And dies after a while. What could be the problem? No one around me can help with this.

Air fuel mixture can be tuned with the screws given on the carburetor. To have to play around with the settings to find the perfect spot for your engine. Because there is no standard over here.

Last month I cleaned my Aprilia sr 150 abs carburettor by watching your video step by step, actually miracle happened after cleaning it, my scooter gave actually more milaega each point on digital console gave 50 to 57 kms but it didn't go well for long. after a week again my scooter got back to the same 30kms per point and now it's giving only 25 to 20 per point, i haven't changed my spark pug till 42k kms after this issue I faced I changed the spark plug finally and changed the air filter too and I don't see any air mixture screw on my scooter instead idle, now should I again clean the carburetor or what? and do you have any idea how I got more milaega after cleaning the carburetor? and now why it doesn't work??

Hello broo! I got a unknown problem on my Aprilia Strom 125 . Like when I was riding my scooty certainly engine got off and engine was too hot as well ,I ride 5 min only that time! And when I try to start through kick also not starting. At first of engine off, ignition green light was on green light of start signal was on.But after trying many times by kick and self it's also not starting. I don't know how to fix this problem. I'm 30km far from garage. What to do and which part I have to do fix? Help me pls 🙏 pls reply

Not really. The thought entered my mind too. But no matter how small carburetor you use unless the volume of cylinder is reduced your fuel economy will not go up. Volume of cylinder is responsible for fuel consumption carburetor just delivers the fuel.

Because I visited local work shop yesterday with the problem of low mileage there an unskilled guy put air fuel screw according to his will..(no proper tool) now I am facing lots of problem solve problem of overheating problem of losing power so can you please do that to check stock position of airfuel screw..

Aprilia sr 150 has a 150cc engine therefore mileage will be lower than other scooters available in market. We would suggest you to take your bike to certified Aprilia showroom to solve the problem

Can you come to know the stock or default air mixture turn...how much turn it really is cause no service center is here

This is the reason why I have been servicing the scooter myself at home the local mechanics always end up messing something...use a marker to marke the screw and the socket to remember the position..I know my comment is perhaps way too late

How old is the bike? It depends on that plus the way you ride. 30kmpl sounds like a reasonable average mileage So no issues.

We suggest you to change your spark plugs. If your Scooter has done over 17,000kms Spark plug will have carbon deposit on it.
Change your spark plugs and your Scooter will be fine!

I Understand your problem. I would suggest taking you Aprilia to a certified serivce station and check all parameters. Engine Maintainace is important for good mileage and power. If air filter hose has damage then would be suggested to change.

Where is air-mixture screw?
I have brought aprilia 160BS6 in Mar 2020 vehicle struggles to cross 80 and above!! Changed air filter to BMC, initial pick up dropped but then not a huge difference! as of now vehicle had run 1500 km. What do you suggest!? Do you suggest to get carburettor cleaned !? So will pick up gradually increase after 3k or 4k km !?

You are supposed to ride your bike below 60kmph for the first 700kms. After that gradually you can increase your speed
If your bike is serviced timely at Aprilia service stations and you have adequate tire pressure. There is not reason why your bike struggles

To clean fuel tank. Remove fuel tank form the bike. We would suggest you to take fuel tank to washing center they will properly clean it.

Couple of ways you can do that.
1) The most easy is exhaust and free flow air filter.
2) Much effective is bigger carbs, ported intake and exhaust manifolds, some custom gears.
Again these stuff need high amount of R&D and testing. So I suggest you stick with 1.

Sr150 has a bigger capacity engine. Therefore mileage will be less compared to other Scooter. We would suggest you to service your bike regularly and check tire pressure to increase efficiency

My 6yrs old Vespa initial acceleration is delaying (1second), after that accelerate smoothly with jerk and high acceleration sound...
Once crossing 15-20km/hr no jerk observed..
Easily achieving 100km/hr, hill climbing also good..
Please help bcoz no mechanic solved this, checked variator roller, spark plug, air filter changed, tyre pressure checked, acceleration cable is fine, changed engine and gear oil..wont help..

My Aprilia used to face a similar problem during initial pickup it used to jerk and after some time used to settle down with linear power delivery.
What I did was I opened up the carburetor cleaned it throughly and checked throttle plate and all other moving mechanical parts of carburetor. Cleaned all of them.
And now Aprilia faces no jerks. Power delivery is linear and consistent.

But I think the local mechanic unable to set the right rpm and fule mixture screw (Reason- Cold start issues, noisy & vibration in acceleration..

To be frank adjusting Air fuel mixture requires experience and some pervious knowledge.
If you want to do it. Fuel mixture screw is on right of carburetor and air screw is on left.

Possible solutions for your problem:
1) Check Accelerator cable setting
2) Check condition of Accelerator cable
3) Open front panel and Check Accelerator throttle Oil property maybe because of Friction Accelerator not working properly
4) Open Accelerator assembly which is on Top of carburetor Maybe there is dirt in it
5) Clean carburetor it possible that there is dirt in carburetor jet therefore problem in pickup
6) Tune carburetor from expert ( Most important if tuning is wrong bike will not run smoothly)
If problem still persist Open Pulley and service

If bike lacks pickup possible solutions are
1) Clean air filter assembly
2) Clean carburetor Jets
3) Good quality engine oil
4) Service of pulley and belt
5) Check tyre pressure
6) Check spark plugs
If bike is very old and has run a significant amount of Kms
1) Change block piston
2) Service Camshaft and Crankshaft
3) Service Valves

After disconnecting the fuel pipe the fuel which was already in the pipe will fall and then Fuel flow will stop. No need to empty fuel tank to clean carburetor
