Hey Mark!! Thanks for another great video, super interesting and super informative. One of the reasons I keep coming back and watching and re-watching your videos is because of your style. Yeah, you jump about a bit between topics but the topics are all relevant and real and actually that's what keeps the interest, keeps the content flowing and makes your videos multi-dimensional. DON'T CHANGE ANYTHING!!!

    Love to see these guys....
I’m currently raising some peppered cories and bronze to adulthood (about 20 of each) and although my LFS said they’d take them in trade I’m having separation anxiety and thinking I may keep them all. They look so happy and fun when they all swarm together like in the wild.... this causes multiple tank syndrome...lol
Meant to merely be an experiment to see if I could do it, it’s the most fun I’ve had in a long time...
Can’t wait to see your future videos and follow up on these cute guys!
    Thanks so much !
    😊

I love doing the ol trick of filling their tank 50% with water ...or rather let the water evaporate, with tds rising and temp rising 3 degrees over a week or so...then bam fill it with 4 to 6 degree cooler water and add a HOB or power head...live worms. It works 7 out of 10 times for me... Nevermind, you just said the same thing basically haha

Hi Mark. Another great video. I have Peppered and Panda cory's, such delightful fish to keep. My Peppered cory's breed in a heavily planted community tank, they don't seem to need a trigger to breed. PH 7.5 and temp 20 C. Everything seems to be a trigger for them, water change day, Mum walked past the tank, day ending in a Y .. they are prolific breeder's for me :)
My Panda's aren't as prolific. I had to breed them in their own tank. they certainly bred in the community tank, but predation on their eggs from other fish was a problem, and they lay less eggs at a time. I put 1 female and 2 males in a heavily planted tank and left them to it. Fed them BBS daily and other foods, they like cucumber, and a 20% cooler water change and now have over a dozen baby's. PH 7.3 and temp 21C , Also put an almond leaf in there and snails for clean-up duty.

Well, here we are a month later, & my largest group of bronze/emerald Corys just produced about 40 or 50 eggs. I saved them & stuck them in a breeder box where the predatory tankmates can't get to them! Guess I need to set up a separate tank for them, it's a pretty brightly-lit, fully planted tank.

I love corys. I’ve got approximately 150 fry at the moment. The first ones I’ve brought up myself. I’ve got a community tank and they spawn nearly every time I make a cold water change. If they spawn at night the other fish have eaten the eggs, but this time I was lucky enough to see it and rescue the eggs. They’re eating freshly hatched Artemia and micro worms. And doing very well. I’m so excited as I’m fairly new in the hobby.

I usually let these videos go on in the background while I multitask because your videos are mainly static shots (straight-on and stationary). I think this works really well because these sorts of videos are extremely informational. So let me get this straight. The trigger is trickle a small amount of water back into the tank over a week or so? I'm using a 10 gallon tank. So I emptied out 50%. So I add a gallon Slowly to simulate rainfall accumulated that fluctuate the water temps to over the next few days to trigger spawning? I tossed in a couple almond leaves to lower pH. Am I on the right track Mark? And does it matter that they are salt and pepper Cory's? Earlier I thought I heard you say it doesn't matter as long as I follow your steps 😉. I've spawned lots of fish but these little ones will be my first time 🍒

I read everywhere that we CAN'T put different variety of corydoras because they can't recognize them together, like If I have Julii, I have to add some Julii and not another variety or my Julii will not go with the group.... true or myth ??? Hey Mark my otocinclus are breeding but I haven't seen any eggs. It's the second time this week they have been t-positioning like mad but again no eggs. Love to know what you think . Like are they eating them or maybe they are extra small and my eyesight isn't able to see them?

Check they're not mating out of sight. You'll soon know if they hatch or not.
