I watched the whole video and did I miss how this case won the internet? I feel Jay had way more criticisms than praises for this case.
Looks pretty much the same as corsair and any other number of brands to me. Cases these days are so boring.

Yeah, that was my thought watching this as well. He certainly had some praise for it but it seemed like he was complaining most of the video, so I kept waiting for something to "wow" him enough that would justify the "won the internet" title. Certainly not like Jay to use this kind of clickbait. Usually when he does clickbait-style titles it's actually paid off in the video, but this was just entirely misleading.
The top filters are to keep dust/hair from falling into the case. It actually makes a big difference in my house in actual testing with my Fractal case!
Mine too with an old NZXT S340, my pc sits off for 2 seasons straight, in that amount of time I basically had to clean my whole system before bothering to turn it on. Now that I've put a filter on the top I have much less cleaning at the end of its 6 month nap.
Coming from a Mesh C and now a Def R6 in a household of 3 indoor cats (Maine, Siberian and Norwegian) I whole-double-heartedly agree.
Same here on my Corsair 4000D Airflow. Plus it looks better with the cover on it.

my cat lays on top of mine and the fans don't blow that hard on my 420.
I just tested with and without the top filter covering my aio. My 3700x got up to a maximum of 66.5c with the filter running cinnebench. I let my CPU and coolant cool down. My CPU got up to 66.0c without the filter. (no GPU tasks at the same time for either). I will be keeping my filter on because it looks nicer, keeps large stuff from falling in, reduces light shining out, and makes almost no difference in temps.
I've got a Silverstone PS15 that has the same style filter on top, and I saw a big improvement in temps when I removed the filter. I just stuck it to the solid back of my case since it's magnetic.
So this concept that dust cant be pulled in from the top with an AIO or similar isn't entirely correct. If you have a top mounted 240 AIO in a case that supports 280, 360, 420 there will be a gap along the side and maybe the front of the rad. Unless you have overwhelming positive air pressure, the AIO will pull air in from those open areas immediately adjacent because of the path of least resistance and THEN also immediately blow it back out. This may not allow much dust into the case itself but can allow dust getting into your fans and RAD and you might need to clean the AIO sooner than if you filtered the top. You might possibly modify the filter if it has 2 layers by removing the inner layer just where the AIO is and leave it where it's not so you get best of both worlds, I did this once. I hope this makes sense.

@@DSK_Sean I think you may be overestimating who his audience is but why would he even look at this case if that's true? On the other hand Jay didn't even mention the front I/O because he never uses them. He has nice audio DAC's and powered USB strips connected to the back of his home rig. Never crossed his mind.

I intake from the top to cool my 280mm radiator, and it works great. I get low CPU and GPU temps, and I'm happy to have a removable dust filter.
Not to mention cooling the Vrms ...

+1 - Using a PC-011D case, I can prove that using 360 top mounted rad as intake (fans under rad in pull config), 3x120mm bottom fans as intake (blasting cool air straight into the GPU), with 3x120mm fans on the side as exhaust.
The old 'heat rises ' theory is BS when you have a closed box with multiple fans creating turbulence. The fans move the air, not 'heat rising'.
Also, when you use top mounted rad as intake (pull), the air that comes into the case is a few degrees (at most) warmer than ambient after it quickly goes through the rad cooling fins and into the case - point being that the air coming in through the rad is massively cooler than the air inside the case (mostly created by the GPU).
Instead, Jay (and most old school builders) think it's better to 'cool' the AIO coolant by pushing the hottest air from inside the case through the rad. Think about it for a minute, it's the worst thing to do.
So the top mounted dust filters are likely the most important place to have a dust filter.
@@jerypilapil6560 I've done that before and it works totally fine. There are probably a couple degrees C to give or take finding the 'perfect' fan configuration, but my personal experience is just as long as you have ENOUGH air, that gets you 95% of the way there. There are exceptions, some cases like the Fractal Torrent have bottom intake fans blowing directly into the GPU, and I am sure the top fan orientation makes a bigger difference there. With "standard" fan configurations and room for the fans to breathe, anything reasonable is going to work well enough.
I think the top mesh is for, errr... when the system is off or there's a negative pressure inside, avoid large particles to enter the system :P

Wemm, normal house, not closed every time, even with mesh I got some very smal particles of dust insude my case, that I have to clean time to time...

even then, i dont need to dust my chassis with a blower more than once every 3 months...
i got 1 front intake, 1 bottom intake, 1 top exhaust and 1 rear exhaust fan.
a little bit of dust wouldnt kill your pc components.

@@techxbd A lot of dust can kill your cpu. Is making things easier to clean somehow a negative? I don't see the point in fighting against something that just makes cleaning a little easier. It comes with the case preinstalled. I also don't store my pc in a wood shop. Lol.
Convection is largely irrelevant in the face of air flow due to multiple fans. Air intake at the top can work just fine depending on your needs.
top AIO (if it fits) with an aircooled GPU, atop intake is almost a must. Many people use top exhaust through the AIO and wonder why their CPU is so hot... with the GPU heating up the water :)

Jayz! as someone who has a Phanteks P350 and have had it for 4 years now I gotta say seeing that little metal sliding door on back of the gpu screw slot made me really happy. My phanteks case doesnt have it and its just a massive opening for dust and airborne contaminants to fly right on into my rig. Glad they added that.
I have the Phanteks P500A Digital RGB and honestly this case is going to be a recommendation to any of my friends that want a similar look but don't want to spend as much money or want a smaller case. Keep up the good vids Jay!

Sorry, uh.. but why is this case so special? I watched about half the video until I started skipping, and noticed that this case actually seems subpar. I can't remember the other case that I used for a friend's build, but I remember liking it so much because you didn't HAVE to use the bottom PSU shroud, and you had a full drive rack (optionally removable as well), and it had tempered glass, and it came with some RGB fans, and it had plenty of room on top in case you wanted a radiator on top... like, I don't see why this case is so special.
@@rameynoodles152 it's not that this case is so special itself. It has good build quality and comes in a form factor that isn't too large or too small. It's a good case that comes fully loaded with rgb fans and a mesh panel for good airflow. At just 100$ it's actually a pretty good deal to get all that from a reputable brand. Of course there are other options in this price range that are great as well, this is just what I would recommend for someone who wants a case with good airflow and rgb fans pre-installed they don't have to buy.

The mid-tower air-flow focused case seems to be a staple case that every company makes, and they’re all about the same price and they all are capable and easy to recommend to almost anyone. I myself have the lancool II mesh which is Lian Li’s version of this, and I love it. I really don’t think you can go wrong with any of these though
I have the rgb lancool 2 and I'm seriously thinking of just swapping out the front cover with the mesh one that you can buy seperately.

I’ve noticed a few shots from Jay towards Steve lately. As a long hair myself I’ll take Steve’s back. Wow, as I was typing it went into Jays video about tech and kids. As a fellow Gen Xer I’m surprised by Jays ultra conservative nature.
Been using these for my customers and they Love it! My office clients like the Eclipse P300a and I use that case as the smaller PSU needed for office work fit inside well with the HDD cages. The G360 has been a great value add for the Mid-High end gamer customers, and the Lian Li Lancool2 Mesh is the step up from this case for more hard to please customers who want a bit more cooling and function. You can go cheaper but I only recommend this case and the Lancool 2 Mesh, though the customer always receives what they want regardless ;)
That's amazing! I just finished a client's build using this case. Great airflow. Modified the case by adding stabilizer feet to it.
the top filter is actually very nice addition especially if you buy the non-mesh version and mod the front panel since you can use it there, also if you make both front and back intake and top exhaust you can make a smaller dust filter for the back 120mm from it 👍
The top filter is also a must have when you have budgies flying around shitting everywhere.

My buddy asked me to help him build his first PC when the first stimulus check landed, and when he brought all the stuff he got over he had a phanteks case(which I had never worked with before). I was so pleasantly surprised with how nice their cases were and how easy it was to cable manage. I've kept my eye on their cases ever since then.

I love Phanteks. It's them, Fractal Design and Bequiet that are my favorite case brands so far. I'm running the Phanteks Enthoo Evolv X right now. Absolutely gorgeous case.

I took a "PC gaming hiatus" in 2018 and sold my desktop, then in 2020 when I decided to buy a decent desktop, I went with a Phanteks Evolv Shift (not knowing their brand, used to Corsair, Antec, Cooler Master, etc.) and honestly was very satisfied with the craftmanship and features.
Looks like an updated version of the Phanteks Eclipse P300A. I really like my P300A, so seeing a similar case with 3 included fans & room for 3 fans at the top (instead of 1) is pretty sweet.
I have a similar case from Montech I picked up a few years ago. I kept those 3 front case fans in the same area, but set them back in to the case so I can use the entire front cover plate as a sort of intake cowl. Worked out well and pushed the RGB lighting closer in to view as I have an all black build.

Yep. Top intake is fine in a lot of builds. For some cases, it ends up being the best possibility.
I've tested the difference between top intake vs exhaust in my lian li lancool 2 mesh case, in each scenario everything else started the same. I was using 10900K CPU, RTX3070 GPU, rear fan was exhaust and front was intake through a 360mm AIO radiator. The result was top intake dropped GPU temps by an average 7°C at idle and an average of 3.5°C under full load. CPU Temps were basically unaffected because it's cooled by the AIO.
For me the difference really didn't change anything in performance, maybe gained a couple fps in game, not enough to notice.
What I don't understand is why people keep recommending using exhaust through a radiator. I also tested that variable on my Lancool mesh, top radiator exhaust vs front radiator intake. With top as exhaust using a 240mm AIO my CPU temps under full load were over 12°C warmer. The GPU temps under full load were 7° lower than they were with a 360mm radiator front mounted as intake.
In the end I decided to go top and front intake with the radiator on the front.
@@NoMasters. Radiators give the best cooling when front mounted with the fans on the front on your case intaking air and blowing it threw your radiator into the case. Many people have benchmarked this showing a drop between 5-10 degrees for their process when mounted this way compared to a top mounted radiator. Radiators honestly should only be mounted on the top if your case can't support one on the front.

I disagree about the top filter -- I prefer having one. I have used top intake before and it has worked perfectly well, so I don't think "working against convection" makes a real-world difference (I would love to see some testing to be proven wrong!). Even using top exhaust, I also just don't want hair and dust or whatever else getting into the holes in the top which AREN'T covered by fans/radiator. If I'm using a 240mm or 280mm (I have the latter), I want that filter there to prevent junk from entering where there aren't fans blowing it away.
It's situational, but a welcome addition to any case. I don't want to NEED to fully populate the top of the case with exhaust JUST to prevent dust and hair from falling into it. Anywhere there are openings, there should be filters, so the user can have the flexibility to set it up the way they want.
You're right on the money, but they should spend a little more effort making the openings more aesthetically pleasing fo those who don't want to use the top filter.
@@PyCoder82 I have an i7-12700k and an RTX 3080 Ti in a Corsair 5000D, and I hear my desk fan more than my PC (sitting right beside me), even while gaming.
I can't dispute that you're right -- it's just physics, of course -- but there are LOTS of ways to achieve "more airflow, less noise" and I feel that with or without mesh, if you can hear your computer over the noise floor, you must live somewhere VERY quiet, or you have other areas of improvement.

I have a Liquid Freezer II 280 on a mildly overclocked 12700k, and I already can't hear anything from it unless I put my ear up to it - and I have thermal headroom to spare. (As far as I know, I also have no hearing loss.) In my scenario, the filter is serving a useful purpose without any detrimental impact, and I'm glad it is included.
Thats exactly what I was thinking regarding the top dust filter. I have a 465x and never used it. I also think that the dust will be blown away / out when the PC is turned on. Glad to hear I am not the only one!

CONVECTION does not matter for airflow in a pc case. Your fans determine the airflow. You say it all the time and it is a pc "myth".
I wish my h710 came with a top filter so i would have the option to bring air in from the top for more positive pressure airflow, but they didn't provide one.
convection would be a force the fans are working *against* in some airflow orientations .. right? It may still be insignificant to the overall performance.
Forced Convection IS a thing, and I think that people tend to confuse the two and cause these erroneous ideologies not realizing forced convection is in regards to fluids.

I’ve got a Phanteks Evolv X case. First time PC builder. Overall, the case is sooooo nice. Solid metal. Solid glass. I love the look of it
That rant about top air filter - I like them. Not everybody puts fans on top, most people stick with what comes with the case. In this situation, there's nothing to blow the dust off of it, passive airflow doesn't work. And with the top being the top-most flat area, A LOT of dust can fall on it, and having a filter that's easy to clean is good. If you don't want it to hinder your airflow just remove the filter and you're done, but it's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
I pull air in from the top through my rad (triple) - fans are underside so cold air is pulled through it and my case is literally cold to the touch (9900k at 5gz and a 3080ti) even when on full whacker! - it all depends on how any exhausts you have - front pull, top pull, rear exit - don't let anyone baffle you with needless science - it's fairly straight forward. I must admit having 3 fans to exhaust (2 small ones right by GPU) and the main 120mm at the top, makes a huge difference.

I just built a system in this exact case (well almost, mine was black); I had ordered the P360A, but received the G360 with a sticker over the G and a P hand stenciled onto it. Factory packaging! Not complaining, the G has an extra fan and a few small design changes that I appreciated. One of the fans was DOA, but Phanteks replaced it after an email and proof of purchase. All in all, a very nice case and a pleasant experience with the company.
This case is extremely similar to the Lian Li 205 Mesh (I know you have that one as well). The only main differences between the two are a) the angular design of the front panel on this one b) the 360 rad support c) the 205's 2x 140mm plus 1x 120mm rgb fan vs the 3 x 120mm on this one. Depending on your use-case, both are very good options at the $100 mark
Reminds me more of the 215 mesh. The front is much more similar.
Is it just me or does the Corsair 4000d still look like a better deal? Great build quality, better cable management options and u also get corsair velcro cable ties and same airflow for the same and maybe even less money?

I agree, I think the 4000D also looks like a higher tier quality. I do really like the cable management channel on the G360A though, that's typically unused space so why not utilize it? Good design feature imo. It probably also has better dust filtration as well but I'd still go for the 4000D.
@@cheezzeballz The original fans on the corsair are probably worse than on the phanteks. no rgb and i've had bad experience with mine. Vibrates like hell for about 4 minutes after turning on my pc and then stops lmao.
Still questioning whether to get the 4000d or the Be Quiet! 500DX, also the 500DX probably has better airflow than the Phanteks with 1 less fan as well.
Hot air rising basically plays next to no role in a space that small. Any computer fan will easily overcome this force, too, so using a top intake is perfectly viable, if you are inclined to do so.

the pcie expansion slots on the case, the little braket that goes over the screws has actually rly helped me. i have a stripped screw right there and the bracket keeps it in place.
The Vent Cover is Awesome. It gives me some extra control over my air flow. I find it works well to adjust the air Volume throughput. In a dusty atmosphere some limits on air flow are required. There is sweet spot. That port cover helps me achieve it. You can adjust your positive pressure with it. I like that little annoying GPU Vent Plate a lot.
hi Jay, love your channel, just one thing regarding exhaust fan filter, there is actually a purpose. I did some tests, without the exhaust filter, there's a lot more turbulence within the case due to intake still having a filter. Getting rid of the intake filter does solve this but will quickly fill your case with dog hair and large dust bunnies since it's sucking at least double the volume unfiltered. So the purpose of the exhaust filter is to balance (or restrict) air flow for the sake of turbulence. These turbulence cause hot pockets (not pizza pops unfortunately, just hot air pockets) so unless you want lots of noise and mini tornados in the case, best to just leave it on :)

I get your your thinking on your approach is but... no. Just no. This is not a solution orientated approach - a band aid at best and only because of lack of comprehension of actual issue and fluid dynamics. if you got "turbulence" issues, a restrictive mesh is NOT the solution LOL. Your "test" reads more like you watched Linus and thought there was some magical validity to his nonsense (debunked, as he often is, cuz it gets him views, but no excuse for believing that BS)
@@warpedphreak Look, it ultimately comes down to this, less dust or insane high air flow. I choose less dust because I'm honestly not interested in cleaning the PC every week. My TUF 3080 ti rig with the rosewill cullinan case (very high flow) got 3x 140mm fractal venturi intake fans each rated at over 100+ CFM and only one of these same fans on the vertical non restrictive exhaust already sucks air out nearly as much as all 3 intake fans with the filter on, I also got 2 more 140mm exhaust fans on the top so when I open the top exhaust filter, it literally sucks out over double the amount of intake. This is far unbalanced. It has nothing to do with linus, I'm not a fan of linus even tho I'm 15 mins drive away from his office in surrey BC.
The VRM is placed on top on a lot of motherboards that's why there is the option for a top mounted fans - to cool down the VRM. For my motherboard it makes 10-15C difference.
I just want a motherboard where the VRM is built well enough to not need heatsinks :(

@@rBennich No, if effective enough mosfets and switching controllers are used, there should be a low enough amount of heat to dissipate without heatsinks. Maybe not at the highest power boards, but for stuff ~150W and under it should be 100% doable.

Jay surely the top dust filters are still worthwhile for dust falling on the top of a system. Having cleaned the top of my case recently, I am pleased to have a top dust filter there. The exhaust doesn’t blow all the dust away.

Natural Convection doesn't factor in within the case itself when you're pushing air with fans running at any reasonable RPM. The only concern with top intake as far as natural convection is concerned is if you're running the case in a closed space with stagnant air, where your exhaust would find its way back into the intake fans. Typically, in such a space you'd also have issues even with top exhaust though--the issue is the space, not your fan setup and while top intake could be worse it's all going to be not ideal.
Also, even if you do run exhaust at the top you might as well leave the filter on just to prevent any dust from dropping into the case. Unless you keep the fans running 24/7 it would happen and it's much easier to just clean that filter. And even if you did keep the fans running 24/7, cats love to climb up there and I'm not confident that some of what falls off of them wouldn't be weighty enough to just go right on through regardless of the fans running. Taking the filter off is worth maybe a couple of degrees but hey it's magnetic and easy to remove so, uh, if you need those extra degrees, no pets are in sight and the fans are spinning? Sure, you can remove it I guess. Knock yourself out.
It still begs the question why anyone would want to blow hot air from a rad across their motherboard. Nothing like heating up your nvme drives, ram, and every other passively cooled component for no reason.
I like the removable dust filter at the top. I do not use my pc daily (barely once a week) so usually it just sits there collecting dust. I'd rather the dust stops at a surface that can be removed and cleaned than fall into the case. Hey, if one doesn't like it it can always be removed...

I like that slide for covering the screws it helps block the huge hole there to stop dust and makes airflow where it should be instead of out that huge hole.
The 24pin comment about lack of space is my major gripe about my Phanteks Pro M case as well. Definitely something I will be looking at when I ultimately replace it. The tight clearance makes it really hard to get the side panel on without bulging on the side. And if you are running full fans, controller, 4-5 drives, you will have to push fairly hard to get everything to lay nice and tight.

Having a dust cover on the top does make sense for people who have to lay there PC on it's side to fit on a shelf or under a low table. I have my living room PC under a TV stand and it sits on it's side so if I wanted to configure my fans with intake on top the dust cover would actually make a lot of sense. I actually wish there were more choices of cases that were not standing vertically and had feet options for the side of the case for situations like mine.
I bought be quiet silent base 802 mesh and its best case ive seen so far. 3x140 front for intake, 360 top 140 back. Its just epic for airflow and everything else. Full mesh front, window side. Perfect for me
I have my top fans drawing air in and find it keeps my components cooler, all the air flows out the back and bottom of the case. I would think 2 fans in the top and 1 in the back of the case drawing air out would reduce the air flow around the gpu and cpu.
just keep in mind that hot air tends to go UP by itself
and now you're one those of those weirdos that have their fans in the wrong looking way

I have the p500a and it is by far the best case I've owned. Looks great, lots of room for cooling and good air flow.

The Case remembers me when i bought my p350x. almost the same layout and in a nice black/white combo with argb no mesh and lack of optimization for rads. These budget cases really do be gettin better.
My old PC have a Corsair Obsidian 550D case, and it has the same top vent, with a filter mesh, but it also have a cover, to cover it up if you like. Actually, the sides too comes with filter and panels to close them. It was before tempered glass and acrylic glass side panels were shipped as a part of the cases, though.
Maybe when reviewing a case you can build a system with it so we can see how it looks and how everything fits.

The top filter could simply be solid as a cover for when you're gone for longer.
I didn't follow the recommended instructions for the Corsair H100i AIO I recently installed into a case, but they do recommend that you install the radiator at the top of the case with the fans installed to air intake from the top. So if you follow those instructions you would want an air filter at the top of the case. I guess like others said, they want to use the intake air to help cool the VRMs?
CyberpowerPC sells a prebuilt using a design similar to this. I marvel at how cheap and cost-cutting it is, and clean looking it manages to be at the same time. Hide the cables in the basement! The other observation I have is that it encourages even casual PC owners to clean up with the pop-off panels on top, front and bottom.
I try to have some kind of mesh/screen on all the openings in my case. Dust and hair are one concern, but a larger one is insects crawling inside due to it being a nice warm space.
My PCs are set up behind my desk so not the easiest to get to for regular cleaning (I do a deep clean once a season).

I bought a Phanteks 500A few weeks ago and the build quality is great. So is the airflow, the fans actually aren't crap. The only downflow is that there weren't a splitter cable for the 3 front fans.
I have and it definitely was a visual upgrade from the Cooler Master case it replaced, overall it was a painless and positive experience
Amazing to see people freak out over an opinion about the value of a top dust filter. I wonder how many people realise that they don't have to do absolutely everything Jay says... he probably won't be coming round to inspect your PC to see if you are using it or not...

It's not that he's telling US what to do... He looked straight at the camera and addressed manufacturers as if he was speaking for his audience or at least a great number of them. Clearly he and his audience have differing opinions on the top dust filter lol and shouldn't be speaking for them.
Tech Tubers carry a lot of influence these days. There are instances of Jay influencing manufacturers out there so we don't want him influencing Phanteks and others to make changes we don't want or need and so we spoke up about it. Obviously lots of people like the filters.
People seem to like complaining more than just keep scrolling or do their own thing. It is as the Mandalorian would say, "This is NOT the way." lol
Because he's not exactly correct about the fan placement and orientation. I even made a response video to Jay about this yesterday.
In the p350x the top fans as intakes were actually helpful compared to having them set up as exhaust. That filter being useful is still debatable but yea
Building the same case , it is very nice and very much choice of airflow/radiator setup. for the price it is really good
I used a bunch of cases from Phanteks P300 and P400 series throughout 2020 and part of 2021. Out of 14 different builds, I used Phanteks 11 times and the other 3 were all Lian Li Lancool 215s.
I was always impressed with the quality of their cases compared to their cost. I never paid more than $80 for any of them and a lot of times they were less than that. Sometimes as low as $65.
I assume that it's due to the distressed world of shipping in the last couple years but it's hard to not notice that case prices have gone up considerably, even just since last year. I loved paying $70 for a case like that but I guess with all things being relative in the current market, $90 is a 'good price' for it now. Honestly though, if given the choice with a $90 case right now i would probably pick up another Lian Li Lancool 215 on sale.
Top filter stops dust from settling in when PC is turned off, it still has a legit function.
Sounds like you should be really concerned with where all that dust is coming from if you need a dust filter when your PC is off...

Stupidest take so far. "Get rid of an easily removable filter!" How about letting the end user decide, as Phantek's currently doing?
They could make it look nicer under the filter though. That said, getting rid of the top filter could lower the price, which might make more sense than just paying for something nobody needs.
It is merely a suggestion don't get all twisted. In the end you do what you want with your rig. You just have to dust it more often. I blow mine out weekly with a mini blower thingy thang.
Just built in this case got sent this one when I originally ordered a P360A lol first build and it went well only thing not mentioned in video is how small the cutouts for PSU or multiple wires are, and no more cutout in front of GPU, but cable management was clean and easy to handle after that, and everything running good so far 🙂
We just got one of these a few months ago and so much has changed on it! it's so much nicer!
'convection' inside a pc case is almost a non issue. It's too small of an area to make any real difference. There's nothing wrong with intake on top. It won't radically affect your temps.

That is NONSENSE. Air rise due to convection is irrelevant to even a broken fan. *And* there is very good reason to have a fan blowing into the case if the air it would be sucking out is coming straight from the cool flow of fans on the front panel. My case is cooler with the front top fan blowing down.
I did a build with the black version of this case, mine came with the vertical GPU mount included, but decided not to use it as I felt the fan intake for the GPU would be to close to the glass side panel for decent air intake. I added a 120mm exhaust @ the rear, and moved the 3 included fans to exhaust from the top. I have a 240mm radiator in the front. System is an AMD Ryzen 7 5800x with a Kraken X53 AIO, an d an AMD Radeon 6800xt, both mildly overclocked, full tilt, CPU never went over 55c, GPU reached 81c. Overall, I'm pleased with the case, little tight with the cable management on the backside though.
I bought this case as well to try to cool my 5800x….without extreme undervolting it….im putting in a top mount 360mm aio in it…is your 5800x undervolted to achieve 81c?….can you share your cpu oc/uv settings?
I've had cases where that space to the right of the PCI slots had to stay open or be closed with tape because the stock plate that covers it up would not fit with the GPU etc in place, which that adjustable slidey locky thing solves.

I have the p500-a DRGB and while I love it, some of the concerns you mentioned are the same. I have ModMesh cables and managing them in the case took me maybe 2 hours to figure out because there isn't a lot of clearance between the mounting plate and back panel. Also the cable holes don't line up the best with locations on some motherboards (I have a Strix Z690). But the thermals are great, it stays quiet, and plenty of space for most components.
As someone that owns a P300A for two years, this case pretty much solves *most* of the things that annoys me in mine. Mainly the third bottom fan with cutout for radiators and the offset upper grill with 3 times more space.
What could still get better: the HDD tray does not hold the drive vibration, so the entire case vibrates; as Jay showed, the "holes" for the cables aren't well placed (maybe for my motherboard?).
But both P300A and this new G360A are solid for the price.
I have a Sharkoon TG5 for about 3-4 years now, it solves all your problems, was (and is) very low priced. And looks almost like this case in terms of functionality.
I was a bit disappointed with this video because I thought it would bring something new but didn't.
I can attest to the 90 degree holes for the cable passthrough , I have a P300A, and the some of the SATA ports are in between those metal support between gaps, and it blocks of some ports.
Top filter is needed. It can prevent dust fall into the case when the rig is shut down. Or for whom didn't install fan on top of the case.
I've got this case and it was a huge upgrade from the PoS case I got from my custom cyberpower PC last year for my 11700kf and 3060ti. With my arctic 360aio on the front I am able to fit 9 fans on this case and was able to stop my 3060ti mini from thermal throttling.

I built my first PC for my 32nd B-day last August and this was one of the things that bugged me when picking out a case. (I went Lancool Mesh 2) My work PC sits up higher and I don't really see it.
My PC for the livingroom TV though (Cooler Master MB311L M-ATX case), is right there, all on display. Like I said, it looks unfinished without the "mesh". But it holds back the airflow from my AIO. Even with high static pressure fans.
I got a Phanteks Enthoo pro back in 2018 for my first 1070 build. Recently built a new rig w/ a 3080 and a 12700k, reused my old case. As far as I am concerned and aware for my needs, the Enthoo pro is the best case.
Every time i watch an overview on a case it confirms that fractal cases are the best for my needs

8:12 the slidy thing is just a cover for the gaping hole that would be there otherwise. It's a compromise that lets them put the IO shield and PCI slots flush with the back of the case instead of inset like the classic ATX design.
Haven't built in this exact one, but have built in the Eclipse P500A. It is really similar and really like the price point for their products based on the quality you are getting!
I guess I would have to confess I did top intake and rear intake and front exhaust on an NZXT H510 build but that was because I was practically forced to by the AiO I got where the fans didn't have a symmetrical frame front to back so they could only be mounted to the AiO one way and I had to mount the radiator flush to the front. So... there are people that do top intake. It just isn't conventional.
Most builds i have done use all intakes and one exhaust in the back, havent had an issue. Usually i dont do exhaust through the top just cause ive always find systems tend to have cooler mobo temps and less panicky calls.
Regarding the top filters; I remove mine when I use my PC, then put it back in when I don't. They're magnetic and easy to remove anyway so there's no hassle there.

About the top dust filter, you often want the first top fan to be an intake, putting that as an exhaust will get cool air away from the components
My cpu AIO pulls air from the top. Absolutely zero issues :) 5800x3D stays nice and cool while gaming. Went with the Phanteks Glacier One 280 MPH AIO and it works great.
During your mesh-the-top-rant I thought about my old NZXT h630 case, and I loved it when I was using it. I kind of wish my fractal design r6 case was similar at the top so that air could exhaust either left or right, and still have a nice place for dust to fall instead of it falling into the case or onto a filter. It's very true that there's no point in a filter at the top just to collect dust. However having dust fall into system while it's off is not wanted either.
One thing I wish case reviews started highlighting more is whether the PCI slots have intermediate bracing between each slot or not so we knew whether 3rd party vertical brackets would work. Wasn’t discussed until the very end where he off handedly commented on wishing they included their own vertical bracket, which suggested the pci-slot area was completely open.
I have the phanteks p360a which is very similar to this one and it has been a great case to build on it!
Jay, on some cases, positive air pressure benefits cooling. My be quiet 500DX runs 4 intake and 1 exhaust. I can see why a filter would be beneficial
This is basically a Corsair iCUE 220T RGB case, near identical, but $10-$25 less. In my 220T, the 2 fan AIO cooler is mounted directly behind the intake fans because it won't clear my Z690 mounted up top. I like my 220T a lot, I'd probably really like this one too.
I have the corsair 5000D Airflow which has a filter on top, but then a nice mesh system over the top which gives it a nice tidy look. And this case looks very similar in most ways.
8:18 The reason for that is because the back of the case is flush so you have to screw down cards from the outside, which is just a cheaper way of making cases. So there has to be a hole for the top end of the card to pass though. The slidey thing has to be there to cover the gapping gap. On a more transitional case, the back side is recessed, the cards you install remain entirely inside the case and you screw it down from the inside.
I have all of my fans as intake for positive pressure. I don't run a fan on the back and air flies out of my case. No temp issues at all.
I am one of those goobers with an intake on top. It's a 96mm Noctua with a diy duct to blow air directly through the RAM sticks. I keep it at low RPM and it really only serves to keep GPU heat off the sticks if I'm doing some RAM OC.

I I have the corsair 4000D and it has the same mesh filter on top and I really like it for when I'm not using the computer to prevent dust and especially cat hair from getting in, I take it off when ever I use the computer.

I have a version of this case, the P360x. Great to build in 👌🏽 I might consider one as a replacement though, feel like I need different fans so going with the Phanteks ones might be a good idea
