Macallan 18: Is it worth the price? How does it compare to the Glenlivet 18 and Glenfiddich 18?

- Should you add Macallan 18 to your collection? Or are the Glenlivet 18 and Glenfiddich 18 better values?
We put these 3 “barely legal” Scotches head-to-head-to-head and give you our honest opinion.
You guys should have invited me and I would have brought my Glendronach 18!
Nice selection of scotch....
Thanks!
I got a bottle of "small batch 18" and it's in a dark dark blue triangle bottle. It's 43% abv. It says, "after 18 years in oloroso sherry and Bourbon casks, our aged malts are married in small batches for a rich and elegant complexity." Why is does it not have a brown label?!?! Is the one in this video better on your opinion? And it doesn't say small batch "reserve." But it does have this bottle pictured on their website if i click 18 year under their flagship scotches
I believe Glenfiddich redesigned their label and bottle. Yours is the newer version. However, I can't explain the difference in proof. Everything I can find is that it remained 40%. I haven't had the "new" version, so I can't say which is better or how much of a difference there really is.
I love the McAllen 18 - smooth honey - never sensed plastic .
Who the hell is McAllen? 😂😂😂
Macallan 18? I tasted wasted money....
is Glenfiddich 18 good for collection? thanks
When you ask if it’s good for “collection”, do you mean “does it have a secondary market”? Is it worth more than suggested retail price? Or, do you mean is it a good one to have in your collection to drink and enjoy with family & friends? To the latter, YES! It’s a fantastic bottle to enjoy with those who also enjoy a great Scotch. But I don’t think there is much of a secondary market for it. You won’t get rich flipping it. Hope this answers your question.
Now you know how bad official bottlings can be… you got screwed, never buy a Macallan that’s not an independent bottling
