Stellenbosch University Choir good work!!!
This choir makes me want to attend Stellenbosch University
Alex Moriarty literally tho
This choir makes me wanna go back to CHURCH!!!
Go
teejay flaherty Go:) Jesus loves you!!!
Alex Moriarty me too, for the hot babes!
See you know it’s a good choir when they sound like one. And you don’t hear individual voices. Their control is amazing!
Still get chills every time I listen to this
Exactly
@@rabelanitshithukhe aaq
It's also the microphone placements
Too bad the videography doesnt do that part justice. Hard though.
2024 anyone???? , this so amazing!!!
Yes, me - far away up in northern Europe
A most handsome batch of men in this choir! Not used to seeing that many men in a choir. So refreshing!
That’s South Africa for you 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
TheVanillatech Wtf
My choir at school was nearly 50/50 men and women, always sounded pretty great
I thought the same thing. I was all.... Dang.
Probably different stigma in Africa.
I am no professional, but even I can hear the control of dynamics in this choir is unbelievable. Every second of music grips you. Even though it is a song you have heard a thousand times, this cover makes it feel like the first. Vulnerable, emontional, beautiful...
I agree that was incredible.
TheVanillatech savage
@@TheVanillatech Holy crap, that was viscous. Why was that necessary?
@@ashleyredsheep Sorry but yes. People gotta snap out of it.
So right
My wife and i are in a divorce, it is a painful divorce because we still love eachother but we could never talk to eachother, we are the bestest friends in the world but horrible as a loved couple... we do have kids, but she she made a mental backwards loop, and could not get out of it, i love choirs and the minute i say this title i needed to take a look and listen to the song, not much makes me cry in life, but blame it on the emotions of my marriage, i started crying big time when i listened to this song, it hurts me cause it says what i am going through... I knew the song from Christina Aquilera but this version is soo intens, brought with so much passion and yet breaking voices.. thank you for getting my tears loose, i think i needed that after locking them up for so long... So really thank you for this..
Bart De Wispelaere ...i pray that God gives you strength and see you through in this current situation you are facing -SHEMBE bless you!
Omg i'm sorry to hear that
Wow all the best dear
How you you doing?
bro how’s life now?
The best experience I was ever privileged enough to be part of.
Oh! you were there? That must have been so beautiful!!!
I am a high school choir director in Michigan. We are preparing for our Broadway/Pop concert. One of my students shared one of your videos with me. I played it in class for my and my group was so in love with your performance. Really beautiful job!
That tends to happen when you're the very best at a thing
😉
The best ever choir
I'm struggling for words...just began to cry half way through I was so so so moved. You know when you realise that you're crying suddenly, but it's with pure delight and joy? Yeah, that. Just stunning.
Same, I just broke up with my boyfriend and this is like my theme song just without words at this awesome performance!
Keeley Tarff Beautiful sounds.
Touching something deep deep in my soul

Pentatonix would be proud.
I'm proud of them....lol
what country are they from and the university too.....?
Stellenbosch University is in South Africa
Annie Special stellenbosch university (cape town) south africa :)
OK. ...thanks...
TOO TOO PROUD!!
If I could time travel, I would go back, fly to cape town, and sit right in the front row.
I must have listened to this 30 times
Same.
@@TumiRoch Got you beat by about another 50 times. No choir on earth quite equals this one.
2020 anyone!!???😃 whoa this is amazing !🤯
Nuela T’kloe I always come back to this song... I’ve watched it sooo many times
Andrew Rheam I mean it’s well composed! The harmony and ohhh😩😩😩❤️❤️❤️ it calls for a rewatch anytime !
Still amazing in April 2020! I will watch the new ones in the comments.
April 2020🙌
@@elishawesley4428 yes! :P
Sopranos are beautiful, their tone is freaking amazing, sound like one person
Bruuu. This Is Magic..
This is the definition of a choir
literally
Yeah, acapella is bloody difficult an they nailed it, that's impressive
Being part of that... Imagine creating something this beautiful
I desperately wish!
We’re you part of this?
I don’t understand why during performances like this people can really just sit there straight faced and bored... I have goosebumps and REAL TEARS and I’m listening to the recording. I can’t imagine how beautiful it must’ve sounded in person
They didn't want interruptions coz it was extra ordinary
This was real restraint, south africans dance everywhere and anywhere, I am positive the black kids told their parents to keep their asses on the chairs. Believe me I am s South African.
@@thandie67 I suppose that makes sense. I was in show choir rather than concert choir lol, so yelling and getting hyped up in the audience is encouraged
@@Katie-bx3jb hahahaha show choir is what we do best. I do love that, I have always wondered what would have if the choir just stopped singing and watched the audience. I bet the audience would not disappoint. Lol
The Endler Hall is one of the best acoustically designed concert halls in the world I believe. It's quite something to listen to any music in there. I listened to a Chinese orchestra using traditional instruments there and wow...who knew such squeaky instruments could sound so incredible.
I thought it was because I was stressed and it’s late at night, but I cried because they are so beautiful. This is the song that I used to sing to my little brother to help him sleep... it’s the first song he learned. We still sing it together, hand in hand, eye to eye. They are absolutely incredible... my heart is so full right now. Thank you.
The high note at 3:53 kills me, It’s just so truly divine and beautiful.
I’m randomly here because I love hearing choirs
South African brilliance at its best.
this deserves world recognition
they are recognised globally
see world choir games
sbudahh!!! cool!👍
Tatz4 Mog dude they are ranked #1 for a number of years straight 😅
3:50 to 4:00 That high pitch note, that's incredible piece of singing art you can find on CZcams, Amazing

My mum who recently passed away loves this song... This has made me so emotional
I am so sorry may she RIP 🕊❤️

Sorry
The 1k people who clicked the dislike button clicked it because they couldn't see straight. They had TEARS in their eyes!
I am so Blessed to be part of This Choir
Lol!
I don't understand people who leave thumbs down on videos like this one. This is surreal.
Bored talentless people

Neither did CZcams.. Now you can't leave downvotes on anything

I never thought I'd ever agree with that dumb CZcams decision....and yet here we are
The musical arrangement during the "I'm still learning to love" part at 1:08 is nothing short of mesmerizing. The harmony, precision, and sheer emotion conveyed through the voices send chills down my spine. It's an awe-inspiring moment that never fails to give me goosebumps, truly capturing the essence of the song 🌟
If I were to be one of those audiences, I'd be afraid to even breathe soundly
@@ttanizawa901 wtf bro?!☠️😂😂
Ok the the original song is just the cover that came first.
😅

😂😂😂😂... No u did not say that hey😂😂
Lol
I bet the sounds in heaven as one walks on those streets of gold sound like this - this is the soundtrack of the heavens. So proudly South African at this moment and may God deliver us from the shackles that keep us divided as the people in this country
Just imagine being part of a choir that carries the promise of the best their country can become, and that makes that country a better place. And, as a bonus, captures the admiration of the world.
Alright, who was that harmonizing like an angel from 3:50. Show yourself. God dang.
I could absolute chills at that part. She‘s most probably classically trained and you can really hear it.
@@gretep Not really... It's probably just because of her voice type, a Soprano or Mezzo-Soprano.
it sounded like multiple voices to me. it likely must have been a couple of first sopranos
This part absolutely gives me chills. Pure angelic sound
@k8192 now, I wonder whether she's single ... 🤔😆
Proudly South African!
Bryan Mc Bowles it is in times like this really. I'm proudly South African too 👍💞👌

Romeo Mavuso you've all rights to be proud
Romeo Mavuso proud alumni here as well!
There's something so special about singing together. Gives you a glimpse of what heaven will be like
The conductor is really feeling the good music...best choral version...on repeat...quarantine with good musik 2020 April
I would love to be a part of that choir!
Why?
Me too! I was 2 Years in Capetown and was very often in Stellenbosch. I wish I could life there now
who else is faithfully watching this everyday until it reaches a million views????
I’m so glad it’s the Pentatonix arrangement because I love that and now I love this
Heavenly!!!! I can (and have) listened several times!!!! Their voices are angelic, male and female and together they transcend!!!
Genuinely one of the most stunning choir covers of a popular song I have ever heard
if you are not touched by this then you must not be normal. The harmony is unbelievable
I would've given anything just to be a fly on the wall to hear this, to have experienced this , in that moment. No human mind can fathom the thoughts of COVID 19 with this song and it's rendition by this choir. The words doesn't exist in any language, that can package the energy brought forward here. Count yourselves utterly lucky to have heard this.
i just found this and it's probably my favorite cover of this song so far. Really captures that last moment of vulnerability before you close off from what could have been
3:07-3:15 I love to see passionate conductors.
I know right! They get the best out of you
Andre van der Merwe is one of our best choir conductors now
he legit got goose bumps
Gives me goosebumps every time I watch the video 😍👌
You never see them anymore.
Thank you Pentatonix and thank you choir singers for this Artwork ❤
If I had been in that crowd I would have just sat there with raised neck hairs, goosebumps and balled my eyes out. This is so damn beautiful.
When your crush doesn’t text you back...
That was exactly happend to me, he said "Can you just leave alone?"
At the moment, I wanna ask him "Am I annoying to you?" but I can't.
I feel broke.
communication is important in a relationship.
Can 100% relate
Delete them, so you are not fool enough to send them this. They already gave up on you if they are not texting you back and you know what? You deserve better. You deserve respect and to keep your self respect, by not sending this lovely piece of music to someone who will not feel it. Spend that time trolling for someone who will think you are so great that they cannot wait to speak to you again. Sent with Love.

The song titled say something actually said something and the conductor responded with goosebumps. The dictionary should look for another word to describe this choir because I went in the dictionary and there was no word after superb
made me smile when the audience was stunned to an audible silence, like something special was unfolding. moments like these are the reasons why the 👽s haven't killed us, cos we make the right choice, on the precipice, to be co-creators. and how powerful and beautiful we are...when we are. thank you - you beautiful beings.b
I rather listen to this choir than to go to a pentatonic concert - surrounded by a hooting and screaming audience.
Everyone who disliked is just jealous they could never sound this amazing and beautiful!
It's the year 2021 and am still here. Chills and teary-eyed 😢. I'd love to watch these guys live post covid-19.
Harmony
noun
1.
the combination of simultaneously sounded musical notes to produce chords and chord progressions having a pleasing effect.
2.
agreement or concord.
----------------------------------------------------
it's what makes this music so beautiful, and it's what could make humanity beautiful if we gave it a chance.
When it sounds so beautiful that your heart just breaks
For me, this is the best choir in the world.
It actually is no.1 in the world for a few years now, Google it and you'll see...
If Angels don't sing like this, I'm definitely not stepping my foot to heaven.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Nande Ndlebe Dont worry, they’ll be 1000000x better in heaven!
If humans were made lower than angels, imagine how angels sound. 'No eye hath seen, no ear has heard'...i pray we don't miss heaven🙏
Who gave you the guarantee ticket to that place ? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂......yeah dream for that
🤣🤣🤣🤣🚶🙈😂😂😂👋
So proud of my University Choir- every time I listen to you melodious fellow Maties I am refreshed! So heavenly...
Me too
I held my breathe the whole time they sang! BEAUTIFUL!!!!
there is something so spiritual about a group of people coming together with their voices and making this sound !!! Stellenbosch is blessed and are blessing others welldone
I love hip hop. You would never catch someone like me really into anything but rap or hard core type music. But... I swear when I hear this... For a moment I think, if I were entering heaven this is exactly how the voices of angels would sound. Its so well put together. It makes you close your eyes. You can forget for a minute this is a actual, or was an actual song, on the radio.
that moment when you look at your school's choir and you compare it to this....... that's when you know your school ain't shit! !
Boboza luxurious that's so true 😂
Boboza luxurious that moment when you look at your school's choir, no, wait, my school hasn't a choir....

It's a cover of the group Pentatonix
Oh, my god! It was so amazing! So wonderful! Thank you guys! A really great and awesome job!
Gave me chills... beautiful singing and great passion from the conductor!
At 3:55 that note was the craziest thing I’ve ever heard it was phenomenal

A very well rendered work. Balance, dynamics, and harmony are perfect. It's great to listen to over and over. Congratulations to all contributors.
I felt my soul sailing out and around me. Magical voices.
So emotional. tears! But the room though makes a huge difference, their acoustical properties are superb

Who would dislike this.... Like honestly 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️

i love the contrast between the guys voices and the female voice. so different but they go so well together.
Just like in real world. Men and women are different and that's why they complement each other so well.
i am in my schools chamber choir. i don’t get to experience it this year. i am a senior, it’s my last year. we don’t get to compete. we don’t get to have a final concert or have the tradition of passing the roses to the seniors, or have the senior solo. well, i cried listening to this. i miss my choir.
