Yes Connie, Roy Orbison was one of a kind ... well-mannered, polite, humble, immensly talented and a giant in his world of popular music &song-writing ...but you need to disinfect and wash your mouth out for suggesting that he was "sort of like Donald Trump". That must go down as one of the most cringe-making and silly ridiculous comparisons of the current century. Ttruump - arrogant, greedy, obnoxious, manipulative .. only ever wins an argument because he can afford to hire multi-£thousand or Dollar-Lawyers & Attorneys ... a modern-day Neannderthhaal financial apemann .... totally devoid of any sensitivity or personal human qualities. Roy Orbison was none of those .... please go wash your mouth out..Lol
Stupid, I didn't say Donald Trump was a Roy Orbison. In the world of music he was a one of a kind, like Donald Trump in the world of politics. He was sort of like a Billy Preston, didn't get the credit say an Elvis or dope head like Willie Nelson got. You sound like a bed wetting liberal. Grow up!
I’d heard this song but never heard of Roy. 5 years ago I watched an old televised show of his because my dad begged me. He had never acted like that before, so I watched, and haven’t stopped listening since. I’m 27 now and when the day comes, I will be showing the same show to my children.
+Sterling Blake This along with the very band that carried the name America which produced Horse With No Name. Infact this was probbly one of my dads favorite songs too xD.
Roy said he just wanted "to be remembered." .... Well honey!! You don't have to worry about that!! You'll be remembered from now on!! No one with a voice like yours, and who is loved by so many for that voice and your sweet kindness will ever be forgotten!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥💋💋💋💋💖💖💖💖
What separates Orbison from so many other multi-octave-spanning power singers is that he can hit the biggest notes imaginable and still sound unspeakably sad at the same time. All his vocal gymnastics were just a means to a powerful end, not a mission unto themselves. Roy Orbison didn't just sing beautifully-he sang brokenheartedly.
totally agreed. Whenever I read a beautiful comment like this I have to applaud. Spot on. I remember being 14 and discussing Roy with my elder brother. He was always saying "Roy Orbison was a lonely guy surrounded by an ocean of love" (my brother knew one of Roy's roadies). I'm not sure of that but I never felt he 'acted' the sadness he wrote about. He'd experienced it and it came out on the stage and in the music. A true legend. Not to be seen again, me thinks.
The true King of Rock N Roll. His uniqueness and talent is unmatched. Pure vocal perfection, the ability to convey and evoke so much emotion, and his very own swag sets him apart from all the others. This performance is magical. Not only the musical genius of it, but the way he bites his lip after the growl, the way he slightly cocks his head on certain notes, the way he gently moves himself to the beat, his larger than life presence and humbleness all at the same time. If hope he looks down sometimes and sees how much he is adored and missed. RIP beautiful man, you will be loved forever.
Never tried to make himself perfect, no theatrics or crazy! Just his band and him with his guitar singing..Pure love for this uniquely beautiful man! ❤️
It would have probably been SO MUCH FUN to be at one of Roy’s concerts. So sad that he left us so young, but boy, he REALLY “left on a high note” pardon the pun - his career resurgence was unstoppable at the moment of his death, he was topping the charts and releasing fantastic new songs that all music fans loved. Honestly I’ve never seen a comeback quite like it; the success of his comeback was 100% due to talent, not annoying marketing or nostalgia. He was simply an even better artist in 1988 than in the 1960s and the public confirmed this! God bless you Roy, I was born years after your death but grew up with you on the radio, you are singing the angels’ finest songs now!
Wow got chills listening to him thanks to Scott on tape I'm here he has a CZcams channel visiting Graves of famous people mentioned even Elvis loved this man's voice I can definitely see why amazing!! RIP sir🙏🫶🏼
Such talent!! I remember when I was 15 this song came out and stayed on the top of the charts forever. He kept all his clothes on, did not have half dressed dancers and his vocals were crisp and clear and did not need to be enhanced like the garbage today.
Orbison always amazed me with how effortless his performances were. I think the original "Pretty Woman" single is one of the perfect recordings of Rock & Roll.

That's what I was thinking. Orbison was a minimalist. Just the guitar and that voice. He came to Boston and the person in charge of his concert was concerned that he looked ill. couldn't stop Orbison though.
I had the good fortune to meet him and spent about a half an hour, in his company in Germany. Very polite person. I recalled being too broke to one of his concerts, as a kid, but listened outside on the street, where they had set up speakers for the crowds who could not get in.
He’s so talented. Just look how relaxed and cool he is playing his jam for all those people. Definitely a legend. I was 8 years old when he died. Today’s music sucks!
I love Roy Orbison's unique style and of course, his voice. What an original & very talented artist on ALL level's. I did not know he lost his wife & children so tragically, though. ***Very sad.
Orbison não necessita esforçar-se para emitir a voz potente e melíflua. Pretty woman é uma obra que merece ser apreciada sempre. Daqui a cem anos, nossos descendentes ainda sentirão o que ontem e hoje sentimos.
WOW!!! Gives me chills. Much better than regular version and I normally don't like live versions. Something about the slower tempo, the bass, or something. I'm not musically educated enough to express why I like it better. Great version!!
Roy barley moves when he sings. All that power just oozes out from inside. Elvis once said he wished he could sing like Roy. Thanks for posting this. I very much enjoy listening to his music, but it is so much better with the video.

I was this man's tour coordinator on his 1976 UK tour. Brilliant performer and better still, a lovely person!
That must have been cool
It was - very! Lovely man!
He was good people.
+Barbara Lake Barbara, tell everyone a short story. It'd be interesting to quite a few visiting this video.
+Barbara Lake Those must have been wonderful times. I think Roy Orbison had the best pop voice of any of them.
No one could sing like Roy. Miss him so much.
No autotune no weird dance moves just real fucking talent
Roy Orbison.....such a talent! I melt when I hear this song....I will never tire of hearing it! ❤

Regardless of opinion, Mr Orbison spans several generations of fans. His music will live on indefinately.
Yes true patriot of the Internet, I joined the Internet-Youth in 2014.
I’d heard this song but never heard of Roy. 5 years ago I watched an old televised show of his because my dad begged me. He had never acted like that before, so I watched, and haven’t stopped listening since. I’m 27 now and when the day comes, I will be showing the same show to my children.
Even on his final year, he's still look great with his shades and still songs pretty well.
He wore the sunglasses because of stage fright
Perhaps the greatest singer america ever produced

This was at the Diamond Awards Ceremony on November 19, 1988, 17 days before Roy passed away.
Very sad...it was Big Musician

Incredible talent with an almost unmatchable range. His mid note key change towards the end of “I Drove All Night” highlights that talent.
He sang those high notes so effortlessly too. Watching him live always amazes me!
This is why I think that he’s better than Freddy Mercury
@@mmarshi Yes, he is. And, that is just amazing that ANYONE could be considered better than Mercury. I mean, really.

Roy will never be outmastered
"The Voice" Not now or, ever will there be such a voice.
Легенда. С тяжёлой судьбой.
Thank you, Marc, for thinking of me with this beautiful song by Roy Orbison!!! So heartfelt by me 😃!
Never tried to make himself perfect, no theatrics or crazy! Just his band and him with his guitar singing..Pure love for this uniquely beautiful man! ❤️

It's incredible how popular he'd become again when he died one of the best comebacks ever
Roy Orbison was a wonderful person. He had one of the best voices ever. I wish I could still go to his performances. RIP Roy!
@BB football this is the greatest song he did
Agreed.
a voice of a god

He is a God to me.
Wish that they could make this a music video like they did with the You Got it Footage, to get rid of the audience interference.
Сойти с ума!!!
I love Roy Orbison's Antwerp videos, however, knowing that he died just 17 days later is always bittersweet for me.
Keep in mind folks, Roy is performing this song while suffering the onset of a massive fatal heart attack. Fucking mind blowing!
When he passed away, he looked as young as during the 1960s.
Legend
Didn't truly come to appreciate this guy's musical genius till after he was gone! Roy will rock on forever.
Inesquecível Roy Orbison...Que talento,que voz...Descanse em paz...❤
I was pretty woman in 1988😃❤💋❤😃
