I hope S&W reads this page. I have a brand new one that wont accept unfired rounds with out them being lightly pushed into place. And Ejecting them is a massive pain in the ass, even with moon clips. Looks like your rounds, just fall in, and push out no problem. I had to stuff a SCREWDRIVER inside the mouth of the spent case and tap them out with another screwdriver!! I noticed my chamber walls have rotational tooling marks inside them. The chambers are extremely tight. Now. I have a $1,500.00 gun, I cannot use this deer season, because Smith and Wesson is closed until after the first of the year. Thanks S&W!!
I had a Ruger that was like that - They made it right
But it did take awhile because it was a distributor special run .
But what I got was primo - possibly better than most.
Too bad about missing deer season.

I purchased the BFR with 10in barrel and I love it plus no need for the moon clips.

The 350 legend in revolver form is a pretty neat idea. I would be interested to see more testing in the future.

Even the rifle length barrels see very minimal expansion. That gun looks like a blast. Cost effective for training and hunting. I have the 460 and love it. Problem is good luck finding ammo and reloading components. Last box of ammo I seen was 70 bucks for 20. Nope I passed. I live in southwestern Pa and 350 legend is all over the shelves here. I like big kicking magnum revolvers but honestly I really like that gun caliber combo.
It’s a really soft shooting revolver. I really enjoy shooting it.
I'm in Western PA close to Pittsburgh. I'm debating on a 460 or a 350 for whitetail. I'm curious to know what shops have the 350 in stock. Most importantly, let's talk about scopes on the 460 or the 350. I can think of pros and cons for scopes on the 460 (longer rail, more weight for a longer scope) VS a 350 shorter scope. From what I've seen, the 350 and the 460 are flat shooters especially for 100 yards. Cons for the 460, like you said, ammo. I'm curious to hear your thoughts.
@@hollygattohunter I’ve not seen a 350 yet but if there was ace sporting goods would be the place. I put a vortex venom 3 moa dot on mine and has held up great. At 100 yards I can shoot around a 3-4” group sometimes a little bigger but not by much. 460 ammo comes and go pretty fast but 350 always seems to be on the shelf
Just heard from TK Custom - they will be producing moon clips without the slit or slot so the unloading tool will work with those.

I would put a extra long firing pin in your S&W. I put a Cylinder and Slide extra long firing pin in my TK Custom moon clip equipped 460V five inch muzzle brake equipped X- frame revolver. Why? Rimmed Cartridges like my 460 S&W magnum, 454 Casull and 45 Colt need to be ignited reliably and do so without a moon clip installed as a filler. I highly recommend it for the S&W Governor too. It uses moon clips for 45 ACP and it helps with reliable ignition of the primer using 410 shotgun shells. TK Custom also handles extra long firing pins for revolvers made to use moon clips.
Great test looking for more on this revover. 350ledgen ammo is quite easy here get mustly the one thing you do see on shelf. I got few my ammo video show it well.
Instead of clear ballistics gel, I’d pick up some soft body armor-used is fine-to drape over the last jug. If it goes through, it’ll take the armor for a short ride and likely stay inside it.

all moonclips have this problem
i have several revolvers and have run into this
had to buy extra
but for my revolvers there is a choice of thickness of the moonclips
.35 or 0.40
It is like the 1917 model S&W . They could shoot the .45 acp without moon clips, but You have problema yo eject the empty cases.
But I didn't know the 1917 have problems in detonante the primera without moon clips.

It doesn’t. You lose too much velocity. It was a waste of money and I got rid of it.

Correct. The SW 350 Legend revolver complicates the universal design simplicity of shooting a revolver.
I want to see elk handgun hunting footage with this!
You won’t see it from me. I don’t feel that the 350 Legend cartridge out of a rifle would be a responsible choice for elk. Definitely not elk worthy out of a pistol.
change a fiering pin for extra long one, I think the company is Apex. it will be 100% strike.
That’s not the proper fix. It may make it work. It’s getting light strikes because the cartridge is moving forward in the cylinder. It should be head spacing on the mouth of the cartridge and not moving.
@@cherrycitygunsandammo1011 cylinder was bored with varying tolerances. It is doubtfull that another one will be 100%. Competent gunsmith culd make one from the blank.
I used to have a percentage of lught strikes when changed to wilfsprings in my 629. The pin solved the issue.
Using moon clips, can you load and fire 9mm Luger for plinking? I have heard of people doing this, but found no videos. The gun is obviously strong enough. Chamber dimensions are very close, although I suspect the 9mm cases should not be reloaded after that as they will expand and weaken slightly. The bore is essentially a 9mm bore. Does it really work?

I use moon clips extensively in my TRR8. No big deal, even doing a tactical reload which most of you are never going to do with this gun.

Did you even look. Every Walmart around me has had tons of 350 legend in stock for the last 8 months.

No Walmarts in my state carry ammo anymore. Ammo is getting better but is still sparse in every other store. Feel glad you have so much access to ammo.

What kind of velocity are you getting out of the gun with hunting ammo
Watch the first video for more detailed info as I’m going off of memory and I tested multiple varieties, but I believe I was in the 1500’s

Who wants to screw around with moon clips? What does Smith have to say about that? Why wouldn't they supply moon clips if the revolver is unreliable without them? It's all very confusing and needs clarification from Smith, not from you. Having to shell out another $50 bucks, and fight with loading and unloading moon clips with a special tool that I also have to buy, is a load of horseshit!
