- Flower School LIVE brings Teacher Michelle Headrick AIFD PFCI FDI back to the studio. This hour promises to be a fun-filled, educational hour. Invite your friends and set your alarm for 3:00 PT on Wednesday, May 8th for the Tulip Bunch collaboration. “Where have all the Flowers Gone?”, they’re in the studio! Come on, you know the words. Sing it with us!
I missed last night's live on You Tube as I'm not a Facebook user. But it was lovely to watch this am with my coffee! Always enjoy watching Michelle (or Leanne) create an arrangement. The first one was classic and gorgeous but the second, more minimal design was really interesting to watch. Reminded me of dragonflies flitting above lily pads. Fascinating to watch Michelle manipulate the grasses. And you're right Michelle about the class being "a lot of information." I'm an online student and it is a lot of information. Had to slow myself down! Happy all daughters day!

As a new bee, I personally feel FDI is a great school for a new beginner. I have learned a lot and a-lot more to learn.

I love how you can do a vase arrangement and there are no leaves or debis floating in the water!!!
Teacher Michelle definitely has the magic touch, Carie! She is a master at creating vase arrangements and she loves to make and share them too. We are usually scooping leaves and debris from our vases, but she has a technique that is foolproof every time. The purple color palette arrangement can that be called a bud vase arrangement ?

Hi Tracey - That's a great question! Are you asking about the first design Teacher Michelle created with the delphinium, stock, roses, carnations, and tinted status? If so, that's a vase arrangement because a bud vase arrangement would be much smaller and only have one to three flowers and some foliage in it most likely. Bud vase arrangements use those slender vases in general. Thank you for spending some time with us on Live and for being here to enjoy the show. I love flowers & foliage, but I'm not interested in "Gilding, the Lily" by using glitter or crystals etc... with flowers. It seems quite unnecessary when flowers & foliage are already SO beautiful! 🩷
That's the joy of floral design, Djk0125! You can create it any way that works best for you. Teacher Michelle specializes in flowers to wear pieces (among other styles) so she loves to add sparkle to her arrangements. It's not for everyone though. Some people prefer the natural beauty of the flowers and some like to enhance that beauty with other options. Either way we're glad you stopped by and caught the show.
