This is the fantastic result achieved by Mika with the “Affins Consort” Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Simon Leclerc, in his concerts in sports arenas from Milan to Rome, from Florence to Como. Mika Sinfonia Pop is filmed at the “Teatro Sociale,”, performing the perfect fusion of Classic and Pop, featuring selections from the latest album “No Place in Heaven,” ranging from “Staring at the Sun” to “Last Party,” as well as all-time hits from “Grace Kelly” to “Rain,” revisited in classical style. Mika’s voice becomes the lead instrument, harmonized with the 81 musicians that form the orchestra. A unique event, where pop and classical meet and merge, giving rise to the essence: “music!”

Rare to see a singer actually hit the high notes like that live. He is truly a very talented individual.
Yeah his voice has obviously changed since he recorded the song 15 years ago. But he still nails it.
um.. he does not? he leaves out most of the real high ones and just goes a third below. Still a nice performance.

Voice lessons from a young age help with that, especially being a chorister in England with the high notes. He also had an opera singer train him. Check out King’s College if you’re not sure what I’m talking about.

This man is something else. He's so theatrical but so genuine at the same time, if that makes any sense. So talented.

This is certainly the hardest way to sing a song and he did it flawlessly. Such a beauty of talent.
One thing that would have improved his performance was to pick spots to breath and rehearse breathing at the same point every time. There were a couple spots at the beginning where he had to breath on the down beat, and then had to rush to catch up with the orchestra. Maybe he just hadn't performed the song recently and didn't have much rehearsal time.

@@AdamFlorotrained musician here. That's a fairly accurate assessment, but one could easily just mistake that for creative/rhythmic liberty to give things some pizzazz (Yeah, real technical term lol). Unless you're complete a stickler for what's on the page it doesn't make a difference

I've been a fan since his first album came out 14 years ago, he definitely is one of the greatest artists of our generation. If you have never seen him on stage, then you absolutely need to. His energy on stage is absolutely incredible and he has this ability to really connect with his audience. I've seen him 3 times now and each time was one of the best shows I've ever seen, everyone comes out of his concerts with eyes full of stars and a huge smile on their face.

My goodness. What a performance. Watched this repeatedly. He has a WHOLE orchestra behind him and still delivers. Wow. This is REAL talent. And yeah, he makes my life better. Hoping I get the chance to see him live someday.

Ayyuf not really. He is in total control of the situation here. It's part of the performance, so he was playing with notes as if they were strangling him. What an amazing artist he is!
Yes he stylized the tie thing, but he wasn't as much in control as normal. You can see he's not hitting the highest notes in the last chorus, coming a little down instead. I can sing on the end of a 5th octave as a tenor, and I have a big range... I can go higher sometimes, like C 6 is my max. But this is definitely above that. Those are *extremely* high notes for a man - even for a woman!

@@johnsanimals9939 I’ve watched so many concerts, and I feel He caters to the French audience and kinda snubs the U.S. He’s such a great talent, internationally, and actually is British, with other backgrounds, speaks 3-4 languages fluently. Just disappointed he’s not so popular here in America.
