  • Just outside Cleveland, a body was found. With no ID, the police went public in hopes of finding out who she was. A call was made, that was Shelly Tyburski, daughter of Janet Tyburski. But what really happened to Shelly? Was it her boyfriend who was a drinker with a temper? Or her mother who did not get on well at all.

Shocking story. The mother’s call to her other daughter almost sounded like she was passing a message to the daughter about what story to stick to rather than letting her know that the situation had reached a climax. It makes me wonder if the other daughter was directly involved in the murder and the mother is taking the fall for it completely.

BINGO!!!! I think the daughter killed her and Mommy dearest took the rap. That woman wasn't physically capable of wrestling anything besides a Twinkie. No way did she fight with Shelly in bed, roll off the bed, bash her head on the ground, and then smother her. She would have come up with a "plan" to kill her. ESPECIALLY with life insurance on the line. I guess her plan was let the daughter go in while she was sleeping, murder her, then stage it so they could frame Drunk, Deadbeat Dad.

@@sundarilamond3071 Same, he seemed very blase and his alibi was kinda weak but holy shit, I feel so bad for her.
She deserved a way, way better life.
And her 'child-like mentality' was probably more accurately a stunted emotional growth, not her actual mental abilities being limited. When you're in mental health crisis your capacity for analysis and critical thinking is really fucked up and could be compared to a child, even if you're doing complex equations to explain bizarre theories or something.
So I don't believe he was completely wrong with it, but it still sounded like he was actively preying on someone too unstable or unwell to understand he wasn't a good choice. And saying that like SHE was the problem was disturbing to me.
I have had a lot of older men show interest in me, and they usually presume I'm more childlike than I am, and it creeps me out that they seek that out actively, and they're usually incredibly emotionally stunted but in denial.
This guy obviously has his own issues, addiction is usually a sign of past trauma so he's probably emotionally stunted too, but to talk like that about her when she's found dead was pretty cold.
Her family on the other hand... Vile. I kinda feel like the 'golden sister' might have been abused in some way too. Even if it's just the abuse of being compared to your troubled sister as a way to shame the sister, because it never actually feels nice to be the object your parents use to bully your siblings. She probably also had it drilled into her that if she showed any temper or distress, she might end up like her traumatised sister, and has learnt to hide parts of herself. Which might explain why she just switched off her feelings and smarts to help her mom knowing it's a crime.
Still vile, but probably reflective of an abusive household all round...

Perpetrators that victimize children often do so because children are easily manipulated due to their lack of life experience among other factors. I have gone no contact with the lot of them, but I can verify that if you are the designated scapegoat, the family will put every single bit of blame on you for everything. They push and push and push and claim you’re unstable when you finally snap back, say you’re controlling when you set boundaries, and will claim that they have to walk on eggshells around you because you’re too sensitive (despite the reason you are sensitive being their constant criticism and blame). Everything is your fault and you will never do anything right. This kind of abuse isn’t always evident from the outside looking in, especially when there is a golden child to be compared to.
I can guarantee that was the situation here, and malignant narcissists WILL be violent and even murderous when they perceive they are being challenged on any little thing. I witnessed and was on the receiving end of my own mother’s violent temper.

The mom made no attempt to protect the sister. She seemed almost happy to implicate her. Thanks for another great video, Mike.
Edit: Thanks for all the replies! I do think it’s possible the mom was giving the sister an out. However, it seems like the mom would have needed to tell the sister what she was doing before the damning phone call.
Otherwise, I think the sister might have freaked out that mom was implicating her. So when would they have had this conversation to make the details of the crime match between them? All calls from jail to the outside are recorded. Visitation calls are recorded.
Just food for thought. Thanks again.

The phone call from the mom the Hannah seemed suspicious to me. She worded things like "I'm sorry for involving you with moving the body"... very specific. If Hannah only helped moving the body.. one task.. then just saying "sorry for getting you involved" should've sufficed. I feel like Hannah did a lot more or was more involved and the mom took the full blame for her or something. Like that phone call was coded to let Hannah know she was going to get off the hook...
