So is Neon Ghost cyberpunk or more inspired by that DnD type game (forgot the name) that is a mix of cyberpunk and magic? Since it says "a witch's sin" on the bottom.
You should do a bookshelf roast, but it's various other booktubers roasting YOUR shelf instead.
@@3choblast3r4 Shadowrun?
@@gasquidxeno478 Yes, shadowrun, thank you! The name also reminds me that there is a CRPG on PC and Console based on it and I almost bought it recently, but then found out it's like 4 different smaller CRPG games.
I got your books B of P & Rebels Creed on audio, throughly enjoyed and pondering physical copes đ
Daniel: âthis shelf better be from a 16 year oldâ
The shelfâs books: âCriminal Procedureâ, âBusiness Analysis for Dummiesâ
What, have you never met a 16-year old interested in the business analysis of the criminal selling procedure? Have you never gone outside?
Not going to lie I was reading stuff like that at 16. True crime was my shit as a teenager.
@@AllisonJones1875 - lol! Good one!
@@DanielGreeneReviews reading true crime and not realizing you are Bi is just wow really
What's your point?
Every sign of me being mentally ill disappears when a new bookshelf roast is posted
Daniel serves as my anti depressant
Daniel should roast his own shelf one day, but keep up the good work
I would gladly watch a 20 minute video of just that
Oh yeah, I've seen the horizontal laid books on his shelf.
Alternative idea: let his fans roast his bookshelf
YES!! That would be so funny. I'd watch that.
Have Murphy Napier do it
The genuine feedback mixed with roasts is cool. I think an occasional collection roast could be funny, too.
Agree. Partly because itâs interesting what people have on their shelves that might not be in the âstandardâ selection
I second this!
New series âShelf-Helpâ where Daniel gives advice on how to improve your bookshelves or reimagines them. đ
I'm too shy to share my shelves because my book editions are so mismatched. I have bought like 90% of them second hand, and so my shelves always look messy.
I guess you could say I'm shelf-conscious about it...
I love second-hand books!
Don't feel self conscious about your shelf! It sound to me like it has lots of personality đ
Don't feel bad about your shelf. I feel like this trend of pretty looking shelves goes a little too far sometimes. Books aren't just pretty objects to be looked at, they're fundamentally stories to be experienced. That's literally their entire point. Of course it's nice to have pretty things to look at, but I would never put down the charme of well used and loved books.
I had to learn that myself, too. Used to be one of those people who always bought books new amd they 100% have to match or else. But the more secondhand I buy, the more I appreciate their little flaws. They're like little messages from previous readers, sometimes literally when you find notes or dedications in them.
All in all, don't be ashamed of your shelf. Embrace the love your books got instead.
Me seeing Gavin's bookshelf and immediately feeling protective of him lol
As a digital nomad, my books live in my suitcase, and I'm increasingly tempted to post a photo of it as a shelf proxy to see what roast I can squeeze out.
I know month old post but question to you:
I'm not a digital nomad but I like traveling and I dislike having stuff just lying around my house that doesn't get used so most of my books are... on my phone & reading tablet. I see the appeal of a book collection but when I travel for 2-3 months... books are just not practical. Especially when I dip into whole series with many small volumes.
So how are you digital nomading (aka permanently on the move with no home base) and still use phyical books?
I gotta defend those classic, library-esque bookcases. It gives the bookcases more character before any books or knickknacks are added. And those parts at the top that partially block out books are where you can put your guilty pleasure reads!
Right? Or just some extra knackage if that's your style.
Ya can't get to those books without taking all the other books off đą
Right ? For me theyâre my favourite , itâs like , how can you like books but not like those bookshelves? They capture the essence of books .
That first one was not shelves, but a library room! Freaking S tier gorgeous! I'm jealous and want to be in that room. You get a B for being a Bad goblin and rating that room at a B.
I like the healthy mix of helpful comments and harsh roasting when it's called for
Omg thanks Daniel you liking my comment made my day
Roasting bookshelves is super easy barely an inconvenience.
wow wow wow wow wow wow đ
"Ohhhh roasting your audience's book shelves that they send you for the express purpose of a rost is tight"
You said the thing! From that other thing!
I recognized Gavins shelves so fast lmao
We're going to get building my dreamshelves as a video now and I'm here for that chaos
I need to stop watching these because I always have the urge to reorganise my shelves after watching them... But damn, I love them so much.
And now I'm going to move all my books around.
Again.
Yep me too
Iâd ask you to roast mine but you couldnât because itâs ALREADY FIRE!! đ„đ„
Not sure if this has been said before, but if you're keeping the lower shelves of your bookcases empty PLEASE only do so if your bookcases are attached to the wall. Many top heavy bookcases have and will fall over simply because the bottom is not filled with heavy books/is not supported enough. Unless the shelves are heavy themselves or they're attached to the wall, I'd make sure you fill the bottom shelves up first thing.
This. We have a lot of bigger heavier books, and they live on the bottom two shelves of our bookshelves for this exact reason.
Mission accomplished. đ
Thank you. I should note that some of those books are books I was assigned when I went to school. The shelf didn't have much room for most of my books.
Hopefully, the goblin army will help support me in improving my bookshelf by buying my book.
I like the mix of feedback for legit entries and then roasting when its obvious the submission is from a book masochist who likes to be punished.
The thought of submitting my own shelves, of which there are probably 10 shelves full of books throughtout my house, gives me too much anxiety about how disorganized they probably are despite my efforts to keep them presentable
I feel like in another life Daniel is probably a teacher, he gives very much teacher vibes. Like the very likeable but also intimidating teacher because he is really smart but also really awesome.
I liked this a lot, but I prefer the more comedy roast feels of the previous ones. I want to be warmed by the fires of your spicy roasts! đ„đ„đ„
Hasn't seen horrifying until seeing my shelves packed into a tiny apartment.
Nothing you can do to make it look good sometimes.
I always enjoy the bookshelf roasts -- having actual advice mixed in is a nice addition.
Love that the person who sent an "alcohol proplem" is most likely Finnish because of the bottles XD
Yeah, the Robin Hobb books are also in Finnish so definitely a Finn.
I really appreciate this approach where you give advice. Helps the whole thing to feel even more so like it's positive good natured fun. Also it kind of inspires me to want to work on my shelf more. So thanks for that. đ
There's nothing like getting a notification reminding you of Daniel's savagery lol. Love this series.
These bookshelf roasts really made me rethink my life and have had to up my game. Thanks Goblin!
I appreciate both! I love to laugh at your roasts because you never shame people for what they are reading (too many other people slip down that rabbit hole and it's just plain) but your advice is also great. Maybe bit of both in the future? Some hahas with genuine advice for people who put effort? But it should be something you love to do also, it's no fun to watch someone getting bored over same thing over and over again, especially if both options are something to look forward to.
More Roasts! These are always a blast. You would absolutely /hate/ my shelves right now. I have a bit of junk on them, and many improperly shelved books with partial series. . . >.> someday I'll get them fixed back to where they should be.
The genuine feedback approach was great! Always love these videos. Can't wait until I get my bookshelves into the best shape so I can send it to you to roast!
One Day i will be on this and showcase how much a Living trainwreck i am
You and me both buddy đ€Ł
I really like the new approach. The genuine ideas for improvement make it more enjoyable to a wider range of goblins I think.
When you see Secret Project two on someones shelf but you haven't gotten it yet đ
I like you mixing it up! Always a good time whether roasting or genuine. Maybe separate reviews and roasts into separate videos?
This was a good balance of humorous, amusing roasts and genuinely insightful commenatry on shelving aesthetic. I like đ
Love this please NEVER stop this series đ
Daniel! Can we email you our bookshelves whenever!? I have a steller one and want to get it on one of these videos!! :)
I really enjoyed the balance of feedback and roasting. I say keep this up!
A B- from the dishoveled Goblin? I WILL TAKE IT
Always love these bookshelf roasts!
Enjoyed the mix of criticism and roasting.
đ€Łđ€Łđ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
The reappearance of the meditating owl was exactly the surprise I didn't know I needed, but I did!đ€đ€đđ
The mixture of roast and constructive feedback is magnificent! đ
Man I Love Your Bookshelf Roast Video's! Also The Little Sponsorship Part Was Kinda Funny.
Loved this type of roast!
This video made me subscribe. Canât wait to see if your other videos keep me here!
I like the roast letâs but I enjoyed the actual advice a ton! Would love to see it for the next ones!
I love how you said "cute snek point" but Jillian is not familiar with the cuteness of snakes (sneks) and instead called it a "cute snack point." Now think about eating a snake, Daniel. I'm sure you love that.
Loved the editing! Good job Gillian!
Your roast are always entertaining regardless of how you present and evolve them with your channel
It was a good mix of feedback and roasting which made it very entertaining. I think it's a good improvement.
Holy crap 17:19 "Board games and books go together", I'm gonna incorporate my boardgames into my shelf now hehe :)
That laundry basket one. I'd be so tempted to add mine in if there's another one because my bookshelves are such a mess rn.
I can't believe it took CZcams 6 days to notify me a new bookshelf roast is out
Now I've got my new flat, I have a proper big shelf where all my book series can stand together. Looks good man. Feels good.
The roasting is my favorite! But I love the mix
18:27 I like the genuine feedback but you also managed to sprinkle in some roasts too. This video is the perfect balance for me, would like to see more of this đđ»
Looks like Susan (the mad scientist) actually themed each pocket. They had witchcraft, an Asian themed one, dark academia and several others. Kind of cool. They just need more room :)
It's mine! Thank you for recognising my system. I feel so seen.
@@susanna2888
I like it a lot, really cool idea that is organized, looks amazing and completely speaks to how you see your collection. Mr. Daniel Greene should have given an A++
I really like the mixture of a little bit of roast with the feedback. I don't think you can go wrong either way, so I think you should just play into how you're feeling whenever you film one of these.
As a new home owner, I actually found this super useful for how I'm starting to look at putting my bookshelves together in my den/office area. My setup still isn't anywhere close to some of these, but I'm liking where my setup is going and maybe it'll find its way into a future roast lol.
Dangit I always miss the submission period
Love this series
Watching this while I'm still recovering from (possible) walking pneumonia was the epitome of a wonderfully bad idea.
It still hurts to laugh.
Worth it.
I like full roasts and combo roasts!
I just started reading this year and I absolutely adore my little bookshelf. It doesnât fit all of my books on it but itâs so pretty. However Iâm absolutely terrified of Daniel roasting it because then I will have to spend hours reorganizing them đ
tactically using this so I donât have to think about organising my bookshelf
I love this even more than the roasts! :)
I saw you pop up a few times, and finally today watched a video. Quite interesting and thus subscribed. Although feedback rather than roasting may be more interesting. I'd be either 'fearful' or amused with my own bookshelves being assessed ;) Although content is more vital than organisation. But all in all very enjoyable :)
10:53 just love the "fitzek" book in there â„
Love it! Could you consider adding some more distinct audio and/or visual cues to indicate you've moved on to the next bookshelf? Thanks! :)
I really like this mix of genuine feedback and roast! It's a good format. And what was with all those funkopops?? đ
Just talking about your fans shelves is a fun format. Its a good time. Ill get my shelf on here eventually, maybe lol.
Hahaha Jesus Daniela Iâm dead đđđđ one sec your giving people Bs and As and then u roast then living hell out of a child that comedic gold đđđđđđ
having just binged the playlist of bookshelf roast, the most entertaining part is seeing how, as much as the goblin's opinions have changed and evolved, the hate for funkos remains a constant.
GAVIN I was not expecting to see your shelfs. Especially number 2. But dont worry Gav i five you a solid B+. But yes i would swap to back lighting on the shelves.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned how genuinely great the sponsor ad is? Chaotic, hilarious, five stars.
The roasting is super fun, but genuinely LOVE the feedbacks for improvement â€
Hi Daniel, I love all your videos, but specially the roasts, they are so much fun!!! So how do I do to send you a photo of my bookshelves? Iâve never find the Twitter posts to do so đąđ
I for one, appreciate the unbiased snack point.
Objectivity is needed for our noodles.
The slant bookshelf with all the AFTG stuff đ§Ąđ§Ąđ§Ąđ§Ąđ§Ąđđ
Yea! Another edition of Mr. Greene's Style over Substance Show!!!!
Yeah The front lighting you are correct they look outdated a little bit. The fake plants have never appealed to me and too much nick nacks are a problem but I can't wait to show you my shelf once I have some back lighting in there and I've moved it to my new house.
Hi dan I like your feedback on how to do book shelves and as for how to do bookshelf roasts in the future I suggest alternating between feedback book shelf roasts and just good old goose over the fire dripping with fat anticipation of bookshelf roast dinner.
Me and the hubbs are building new bookshelves later this month. Iâm hoping to make it into one of your roast videos! I have two cats and they will be included.
I thought this was gonna be mainly a review of the collections stuff, but this concept is even more interesting to me lol
I was just thinking about these while looking at my own poor shelves in this small, expensive room I can't afford.... and with most of my books in boxes for the lack of space.....
14:42 AHHHH LOOK AT THE CUTE LIL CORN SNAKE AUTOMATIC A+ đâ€ïž
The good part of this series, even tho mine are usually never roasted or praised :P, is that I pick up so many tricks and get loads of inspiration to improve my own shelve(s)! :D
Feedback is dope!
Daniel be creating unrealistic aesthetic standards to boost the bookshelf decoration Industry
I always go in with a sane mind... that does not last lol
Iâm gonna keep commenting until we get a shelf tour of the living room and you showing us the COZY SETUP!
Roast them! Roast them so bad the burns may never heal. Also, love the channel
I prefer this type of bookshelf feedback and genuine reaction, instead of 110% roasting
I like both the meanness and the helpful feedback, so do whatever feels right :)
you inspired me, I have 2 billy shelves on the way, gonna expand my fiction onto 2 new shelves.
I have games on my bookshelf, cause my room is smaller than some janitor closets đ
Daniel probably wouldn't like that.
Nothing will ever top the mushroom in terms of disgusting shelves
While full out roastings can be fun, I prefer this more genuine feedback approach.
How do you submit a bookshelf? Is it a Patreon thing?
Twitter
He tweets out asking for submissions once in a while
